I own this pack and have made multiple global trips with it. The importance of the side stash for the hip belt for me is that it enables an excellent way to package the bag for being checked baggage on an airplane. I have old backpacking packs I traveled with and would always fight with tucking the hip belt away before flying. This pack totally removed that issue for me. I reverse the shoulder straps around and secure them with the cinch straps and it allows it to travel like a normal duffel bag. Perfect for me.
Absolutely Great Information Lloyd! Thank You VERY Much For Sharing That! It's been quite some time since I've traveled abroad. Never even thought of these aspects of the pack. Thanks For Sharing This!
Had to drag out my backpacks out of the closet and check them over after watching your video. They aren't used for hiking anymore but I can use them while fishing. More ways to carry gear to fish with and maybe make a meal while the cork bobbles.
Awesome job that has become the standard for your videos. Strac looking pack, but mystery ranch gear usually is. Wanted to say thanks for the kick in the butt from last video, I had bought one or two little items from amazon because they were non critical items and overlooked the country of origin because of the price point. Never again, and again thanks for that. Still looking forward to running into ya one day in the field. Take care and keep praying sir...God bless
Thank you Nathan. I was falling in the same trap, saving money on non critical items. The events of the past year has really heightened my adamancy. I have also discovered not everyone lists country of manufacture on their websites. When in doubt, ask! I will continue to use the items I already have until I can replace them with a similar item manufactured by a favored country. We will have to try to plan something this summer. Thank you for your kind words and support brother! God bless!
@@boonedockery7220 recent events were a stark reminder of the things my father always preached and folks always called him paranoid. Thanks pops! Also would like to offer a morale patch one day..lol
Fine pack! I would rather not have the inside pockets: the ones in my packs had a tendency to snag stuff as I was loading up. BUT they did help with verticle separation of whatever I was carrying on the sides inside. Now to check out the 'Follow Me' patch. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with having a moral compass.
This pack looks great. I think I will get it. However now the coyote brown version is 550$ and the multicam is 600$ even. The prices with inflation is crazy. I just bought two kifaru packs and one frame cuz the bags and frames sell separately and it cost me 2,100 roughly for them and for the set ups. The lids alone r 141$ per lid for each pack. I did get coyote brown and multicam for my two packs. But things r just getting too expensive. There r a few more bags to get like the komodo and some eberlestock vapor packs I want but I just have to call it quits soon from buying so many packs I have 20 some now. I'm a huge outdoors guy. I love gear so much especially packs. But everything is so spendy now. Thank you for ur videos they cheer me up. I have a hard life and health issues and I'm not down just need to escape into videos here and there. God bless ya bro. May God bring u more gear as long as its multicam!!!!!
I appreciate you comment Brother! Prices are going crazy these days. I have been very blessed by finding great deals on most of the gear I've acquired. I've been going through some very series stuff over the past several months, making it difficult or impossible for me to do much of anything with the channel. I'm hitting the woods this weekend so I should have a video up for you next week. Blessings be upon you Brother!

First of all, I need to apologize for the delay in replying to your comment, life has been crazy lately. Thank you for commenting! Mystery Ranch packs are expensive, however, they are a life long investment. I will be long dead before this pack fails it's next owner! Have a great day! Cheers!
I prefer it to a three day pack. If you don't need all the space it compresses beautifully! If you need it, you've got it. The price is high, I have to be honest. However, I believe (especially at my age) it's a lifetime investment. My grand kids will be able to use my packs when they are in there teens well into adulthood if they choose. For me, it's the perfect summer pack.
I ordered both and am returning the 3 DAP. The Komodo is such a good size, perfect medium between ruck and assault pack. The 3 DAP is way smaller than I thought it’d be.
@@Blackordercomics Craig, I have often wondered what exactly the manufacturers feel should go into a 3-day pack. Three days in the wilderness is a lot of stuff for the average Joe. Military? @@boonedockery7220 I agree, but… I am military and live very minimalistic when out in the wilderness so I think this could be a 4-5 day pack easily. Unless, like you said, it’s a cold weather scenario. Then it’s be about a 3 day pick for me.

DANG! Years ago I bought one of Mystery Ranches largest pack (The Wolf Pack) in Multicam For $750 just the main compartment had a larger capacity than the Komodo. I completely understand why it's that expensive, but with what we are facing in the near future, we have to make our 65cents (aka $1.00) go as far as we can.
Agreed Completely James! I only received mine due to the kindness of a friend that let me purchase it less than half price. Even at that, I had to make payments.
