Haven't yet turned my focus to Vietnam 100%, still have several months (combined) left in Bangkok and Siem Reap. Your videos are most definitely very helpful!
It's all priced by the kilogram, but rarely posted. I think most people are honest and won't try to charge you more. Whatever you buy they will put in a scale to weigh then tell you the price, so if they ever just hand it to you and ask for money I would be suspicious.
I'm finding it pretty hard to make any connections in Da Nang because of the language barrier... I've moved to the other side of the river to experience the culture a bit more (as opposed to a load of expats getting drunk in My An) I'm wondering if you have any advice for learning the language? Are language exchange schools the best way? Thanks Travis
I like Big M bro and Moonmilk ! Btw: I know your a Chi town dude but “Lo”tte is not “Latte” , Latte’ is that coffee drink that the fancy people drink at BigBucks🤣 stay cool 😎
Lmfao your girlfriend is definitely NOT excited to see gladiator 2😂 I tried getting snacks from the super when I went to see a movie however my gf insisted that it's not allowed to bring snacks from outside🤦
I prefer local markets to be fair I don’t speak the language, but I don’t think I have been robbed from them I know they stick a little extra on but I don’t mind.
I live in district 1, and I feel the need to tell you that this type of filthy wet market passed down from one generation to the next without improving its sanitation. That’s because the mindset is mediocre and slum. Sad. Văn hóa dân Việt là bam dập nên đi đến đâu cũng gây chuyện tham lam gian lận trộm cắp, sống thiếu ý thức vứt rác bừa bãi. Đó là sự thật từ chối không được mà phải thay đổi.
I get that you want to travel and be a digital nomad and you’re making money from UA-cam etc but you need to realise that the more vloggers that do this the more people flock to to these places and the more crowded they get and the higher the prices rise. Eventually they just turn into overcrowded sh*tholes like Bali and Chiang Mai. If you find a great place just shut up and don’t tell anyone. The world is running out of places to escape to.
No it’s not… there are always going to be places to explore and escape… you just rely on going to the places that are already well known… the people here in Vietnam deserve to have more traffic and money flowing into their country… your desire to keep places poor and under priced all for your own self gain in having a place to “escape” to is incredibly selfish.
'We usually go a little overboard until we're sick" 🤣😅😂😆 You two are adorable, Travis!!
Haha I'm serious, we never eat snacks unless movie night. Then we get out of control
@@TravisTravelsVN 😹😹😹
That was awesome and to end with gladiator 2 perfect...
Pretty good flick perfect for the Cinema

no worries, keep in touch when you are thinking of coming over
100% local markets for me. I meet a ton of Vietnamese women that way. Markets are more for married. I learn a lot more Vietnamese in local markets.
LOL and will never get one to marry you. Why? You’re a low rent bumfuss.
Thanks for sharing your video
Great little insight 👍
another good video Travis.
Another fantastic video mate. Gf not happy Jan!!!!😂 and few grey hairs appearing Travis dude stressing out or what😂😂.
your girl seemed so thrilled 🤣 happy thanksgiving to you all
Your bird is funny man, she seems as excited for gladiator 2 as i am
great video. How much do you spend on groceries weekly. Is it cheaper to buy fruits and vegetables at Lotte or use open markets
Moonmilk is another good option in Danang. Pricey but good for imported western food products.
I don't think I've ever been in a Moonmilk, I'll have to check it out
@@TravisTravelsVNI wouldn’t bother it’s just a slightly bigger corner store and a little expensive I found.
Hi Travis, at the local markets, do they display prices? Do they make foreigners pay more?
I am so impressed with your language skills.
There’s a fine example of your supremely ignorant audience. But these choads will come here for 90 days and claim they experienced Vietnamese culture.

Your girlfriend saying "they do care" if you bring your own snacks 😂. I'm gonna listen to her moving forward haha
how much for the tickets and popcorn?
$4 per ticket, I think $3 extra for soda and popcorn

Ya definitely have to do a language school or find a private teacher.
Silly question maybe, the movie was in English, right? Good video, thank you.
Yep regular English with Viet subtitles
Youre so lucky to be living over there for so long....How old are you ?
37 now
😍😍😍

That's like Costco in the usa
We actually have one even bigger MegaMarket that's similar to Costco, I might do a video there sometime
Lmfao your girlfriend is definitely NOT excited to see gladiator 2😂

@yamuiemata I just saw a ex-pat's bag get checked at Vincom Cinima (Da Nang) when I went to see Gladiator. So, it can happen.
I don't think you're "allowed" but they never check haha
Mega mart is far superior to Lotte Mart. You don't have to navigate 4 floors and the vegetable, meat sections and bakery are not even comparable.

What do you mean you're kind of like a psychologist?
hey man, quick question, can i live comfortably in vietnam making $3000/month
I live in Da Nang as well. I wouldn't even know how to spend 3k a month here, assuming ure single. Ull be way more than fine.
1,500 is all you need unless you enjoy wasting money
Haha-They don't care if you bring snacks into the movie. Your girlfriend calling you out.

Any nitwit passport bro living in HCMC, Hanoi or Danang or anywhere foreigners congregate opinion is worthless….

That’s the stupidest 💩I’ve ever heard a selfish person say 😅😅😅
What a moronic comment 😂😂😂
