I would say Brian's catch of the 45 pound plate was the first one that looked like it was under control, but both of you guys have phenomenal grip strength it's extremely impressive.
Both looked "controlled" IE they are not still falling, but Brian's is the only one I feel you can clearly see directional control
@@MrClaypogue so you agree Brian's catch was better haha
@@MrClaypogue yeah he pulled it back up quite a ways.
HHHHHmjHHHHH
Yeah, he got that. He threw it down after holding long enough. The other guy came close, but it slipped too soon.
Brian’s grip is literally legendary.
Ayo????
You gonna say this everytime
Should check them nipples
Dude him and Eddie Hall are the like the 6th and 7th people in the history of the world to pinch grip 2 45lb deep dish plates! It’s insane!
It truly is
That was one of the best runs on the blobs I’ve seen Brian do. And it was with another 50lb blob and two inch dumbbells added into the mix.
I would love for Brian to put a big chalk board up behind the blobs and when people do this challenge their time gets recorded on the wall. I think that would be awesome and fun for competitors and viewers.
It's because he had a real competitor it always elevates his game hahaha
make it an Event at the Shaw Classic!!!!
You can’t give this man a chalk board. You ever seen what he does to his hands?
@@gotzvonunentberlichingen1452 LMFAO or any chalk bowl in any gym he goes too. The chalk mess he made in the UFC testing/slap video was hilarious he even commented that its probably the biggest mess that place had ever seen!
Would love to see Mark Felix try this grip gauntlet!
Hell yeah
Fosho
apparently he has....
Yep definitely
@@rowen8790 link please
5X INBOUND CHAMP! See you in Myrtle beach!
2hrs from me heck ya
Brian’s hand size plays a HUGE factor to his insane grip strength.
You're right, it surely helps... But there are many people with huge hands that can't come even remotely close to doing what he does.
What you're saying is equivalent to saying "Micheal Jordan's height played a HUGE factor in his insane basketball carrier."
I'm sure the life time of training and discipline is the actual "HUGE factor."
@@timsawyer9231Definitely! When I was in high school at around 5'6, I grabbed rim and was able to grip a basketball with one hand. I don't think people understand what you're capable of when you focus solely on a target until you achieve it. My hand size are accurate to my height btw.
This is so cool, seeing Joel on Brian's channel! He was the main judge at my first strongman comp!
Awesome!
Just saw a spark of competitiveness in Shaw that I haven’t seen in awhile. Total boss level on both these gentlemen
Reminds me of Superman saying he feels like a man in a world of cardboard. He is always careful so he never breaks anything. But instead of trying to not break things he doesn't break relationships. Such a respectable, honorable, kind soul ❤
Brians grip is getting better that's insane.
@@strongmanupdates7533 Yes but Brians grip strength was already up there with the best of the best.
@@markbanner6473 imagine he focused solely on grip haha
Shows you how much prep he's putting in to WSM.
@@strongmanupdates7533 Yeah that's true.
I've shaken hands with old farmers, and their hands are like rocks and their grip feels like a vise😅
So brians grip will be legendary for a long time.
Even into his older age.
Just look at Odd Haugen, his grip is incredible and he's like 65-70 years old.
Brian's sneaky tricks, "Do you want some chalk" (has bowl placed at other end of gym) 😁
This grip challenge (the one with the series of blobs) should be a staple of strongman shows (looking at you Shaw Classic)
Nah man, this is Brian's gig through and through. Not many pros are at the same level.
I would like to see it after maybe just to see where they all stand, but this would be unfair for the rest
this spicific one is 70% about hand size so not very fair grip-strength wise.
Would be cool as a day-after-competition contest, like Rogue record breakers
Always love to see Brian’s reactions when someone questions his strength
It’s hilarious how competitive you are Brian 😂 just the energy of the other guy made you mad ❤
I kind of notice the same thing
Darrell waltrip used to say that he and Dale Earnhardt were "frienemies" Friends off the track enemies on the track!!!
The energy from this video was infectious!!!💯❤️
"If you had a quick referee call, which you're not gonna get here." Fucking lol, Brian is turning into such a savage 😂. I love how he invited a grip expert to his gym, then out-gripped him by a country mile!
I love the grip videos alot of ppl don't realize how important having good grip strength is.
i also realize how much grip it is good
@@pinkyellowblue007lol opps ill fix my comment thanks for pointing the issue out
Yep. Most people just go for straps when they can’t grip the bar well enough for the weight they’re trying to move. Really they should try to increase grip strength. But, that doesn’t look as cool as big biceps.
I’d love to see Brian try Captains of Crush grippers!
he did on jujimufu's channel years ago
@@justinstuart9109 How did he get on? I've only ever seen Magnus Samuelsson close number 4
Absolutely massive respect! These feats of strength are absolutely insanely difficult! I love seeing people come in and challenge Brian, and it seems his grip strength has only increased since creating this blob medley challenge! Love this content keep being great!
Awesome I love the grip challenges! You the man B!
Lookin' better than ever Brian. Keep up the great content. 💪
I think your plate hold counted, you had more control over it, but it's close to call for sure. Also brilliant idea with the inch dumbbells addition to the blobs, you had to pull something special for this guy, he is a grip monster!!!
Counts as a gym lift, but in a competition you‘d need to lock out.
@@ora6925 Yeah, I agree
I would count both but I don't really have anything technical to base it on. 2nd one definitely counts.
Brian's grip is insane. I'd like to see Kevin Ferris do it. He's got one of the best grips out there.
Mateusz kieliszkowski as well has an insane grip
Ya him and loz
Or Mark Felix would be cool to watch
I'd add Jedd Johnson to that list of people I'd like to see try this run...
Also Khaled Jashell
That clip of him lifting the Inch dumbbell and the 45 lbs plate.. I was like, okay he gonna flip the plate while lifting the dumbbell, impressive. But then he grabbed the middle part of the plate.. holy s*** that is some insane grip strength
Seeing the entire run PLUS the two dumbbells is making my forearms scream 😂 Very impressive for both of you!!!
Also, I’m pumped because WSM is at Myrtle Beach this year and I live two hours away from that. It’s going to be so awesome to see Brian compete live for the first time ever and it’s going to be his last.
Thanks for saying that. I’m going now
Thanks for this comment, I live locally and had no idea it was in Myrtle Beach. I can't wait to cheer on Brian at his final WSM.
@@shawzymusic hell yeah that’s awesome. I was just telling my wife to make sure she can get that time off. I have four young kids, so I’m planning on now. Just getting a hotel for like five days over there. What’s even better is it’s free to go to the event I believe I have never been to one but that’s what I saw online. It’s crazy Brian‘s last event will be two hours away from me lol. I honestly thought it was in Sacramento again. I just found out yesterday. It was in Myrtle Beach from someone saying that on Brian’s UA-cam channel.
@@cabsbass same here. I just found out yesterday It was in Myrtle Beach because someone else said it in the comment section. Then I did not believe it but I went online and checked and it is lol. I really thought it was in Sacramento again.
@@youtubeconnollyfamily I looked it up. I won’t be going to the qualifiers but I will be going to the finals. (22nd and 23rd) And yes, it is free admission.
The grip video's have been awesome hope you do more in the future
The grip gauntlet would be a cool feature in the Expo portion of the Shaw Classic! It would be so cool if fans can try picking up the blobs (at their own risk, ofc). Winners get their names on a board!
Brilliant effort from the both of you. That was awesome!!!
would have liked to have seen a hand-size comparison, that definitely is an advantage for Brian there on those grips.
...then Jeff Dabe walks in..
yeah that would have been good to see but dude was also wearing a ring on his hand so all lifts with his ring hand are invalid
Brian Shaw's grip is insane!!! Love these kind of videos because it gives a perspective on how good his grip is. Joel is world class at grip strength and then there is Brian Shaw class/level... Absolute madness!!
Brian totally controlled the flip. Joel was super close but no cigar IMO. Incredibly impressive guys!!!
I loved watching Brian do the grip challenge with the Climber Magnus. Great GRIP video as well. Magnus surprises Brian with his Grip for his size.
Actually Magnus did stuff like that, i think it was with Juji. Magnus said that climbers are actually not that strong when it comes to pinching strenght. However than probably can hold a ton with one finger :D
Brian is an absolute hero loving all the grip stuff
As someone who's recently gotten interested in digital art, vfx, advertisement and social media marketing I have to say- I **love** your intro- really well done in ways I'm still too green to express with the right words- it just looks👌👌👌
Lots to emulate and learn from😤👍
Hell yeah Joel!! Good to see you do the grip medley!! 💯💯🔥🔥
Insane, wasn't gonna do much at the gym today but help a friend but now I'm working my grip
Grip competitions like the rolling thunder world championships should definitely come back. Brian almost never displays his insane grip strength in competitions since it could be endurance type grip events like a car hold or Hercules hold which he struggles with but a heavy frame/farmers walk he dominates no problem
Love these vids!
Great to see you Brian.
I love watching grip stuff with Brian and this guy knowing what it's about is really cool too!
Good to see someone featuring Joel! He’s been at it for a long time as a strongman and grip competitor and still super strong. Still want to see Brain pinch two 55lb plates
I really want that grip medley to be in shaw classic
but in something that it's not so affected by hand size.
RIP those people with tiny hands. Brian is the Grip king in terms of lifting capacity.
Wow, great job to the both of ya! Hmm, where can I find these stones?
Mr. Shaw. Hope to meet you someday. You truly are an inspiration. Not just strength wise but attitude, outlook, determination and just how you are to people all the time. Anyway hope u see this comment. 💪🏼💪🏼
great vid Brians grip is crazy
Loved it great vlog
You both got the flip. Great work guys
Great run, both of you! Come on Brian! Bring home the 5th WSM! You got this!
Brian you look great brother, I’m really excited for this strongman comp, I think your goin to crush it.
Kick some ass in SC! Wish I was going to be there to watch!
This was amazing! I would like to see Brian try Captain of Crush Grippers. I hope he makes a video about it soon 🙏
It would be awesome to see Levan try this with you.
Count ‘em both! YUSS!
Brain you definitely did it !!!!
Legit! Both catches for sure! I think I gained couple pounds to my pinch PR by watching this. 💪😐🔥🔥🔥
Incredible. I got a cramp just watching that. 💪
Put the blob run in THA Shaw Classic!!!!! Awesome stuff Brian and your team!!!! WSM23!!!!
To not only finally finish the run, but to add in the extra blob and an Inch Dumbbell either side is INSANE! Such a great video!
He has finished before, once or twice IIRC. But still with those extras, god damn.
I knew he’d done it once before, but didn’t know if it was on camera. Every recent run I remember seeing he didn’t quite get that last blob up… this with the extra lifts is brilliant!
@@BeardyMagicGuy he got it with Eddie, Rob and Nick. But he struggled with last, i had to rewatch to make sure. Amazing how much better hes gotten
Great work
so awesome Brian and Joel
you should ad in your millenium bell in as the very first one you have to lift and the ad the other end put in a big bumberplade that you have to flip and catch
Absolutely amazing! Brian I hope after you retire from regular strongman you go after grip records and challenges!
Insane!! Joel and Brian.
Simply amazing, great job to both of you! I think Brian’s flip was more under control but both are incredible for sure. 💪
Insane. Wanna see you start arm wrestling. Take a few Years to get your tendon strength. Add another number 1 best to your list of accomplishments. You got this Brian
Brian you look very sharp! Awesome footage!
Wow sir, you are truly the strongest man in the world!! I love how you seem to be a humble giant. I particularly like when the big 4 are together. Nick , Robert, Eddie and of course you 👍
I feel like there are a lot of records out there that haven't been done/broken simply because Brian hasn't attempted them
As brian picked up the last one, i was so glad for him to finaly did it in a run✊️
He did it before back when Eddie, Oberst and Nick were around
Absolutely insane!
kinda want to see Brian get a replica of the millenium dumbbell like he and eddie lifted a few years ago, well that brian lifted and eddie watched in awe
My boy getting stronger still
Another great video
That is insane!
I'm a big, strong guy but you guys are on such another level it's crazy. I'd say both counted but Brian's was definitely more solid. That's an amazing amount of grip strength you both have
Damn dude. Just, DAMN!
Amazing! When are you coming to armwrestling??!!
Finally! ROCK ON!
Brian Shaw is such a BEAST!!!
both counted and both of you are awesome.
Dam Brian your a monster legendary 👍🏽🙏
Light weight baby!!!
This is crazy crazy
Absolutely unreal grip strength for both of you but Brian is the GOAT!!!
Finally another grip video! 🎉
I would love to see you do a video of just every grip test you have
He is the blob masta!! Ridiculous grip from a massive beast. Bryan Shaw wsm 2023
That's insane
Dude you are so respectful!
Both counted because you are both amazing. Fun vid
The way he slapped it 😂😂😂
My grip is so bad right now because of carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve entrapment. Your grip is unreal man!
Stretch your hands and fingers and forearms my friend
I love all Brian's videos but the grip ones are my favourite.
Loved it
The Shaw classic needs a new competition called the world's strongest grip, so Brian can compete in it even after he retires!
All hail, the new grip expert.
Id love to see Big Loz try this. Dude has a solid grip as well.
I think if you can catch and bring it back up at all it would count. If its continuing a downward path after grabbing it do you really have control? Or is your hand on it while its still falling?
Great job Brian, completed all the lifts in my opinion.
great effort from Joel, I’m sure in time he’ll get those inch dumbbells and bigger blob lifts.
I love seeing Brian putting World’s training top priority!
Make it record-breaker event at the Shaw Classic! 💯
