This guy is iconic.
The way he portrayed Isaac as this wise-cracking, necromorph-stomping lovable badass in Dead Space 2 remains as one of my best portrayals of a fictional character in a video game.
The line: "FUCK YOU. AND FUCK YOUR MARKER!" just cemented that more for me. So excited he is back for the remake!
And although DS3 wasn’t really at the same level as the first two, I also love his line near the end, when he basically stares down an eldritch god and only says “You can’t have us.”
also how in the first game his stomp and slap was more of an noob guy. Then in dead space 2 hes violently trashing them, love how u can hear him saying"DIE DIE, YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" in the sec game easily.
A personal favorite of mine is when he gets a call mid-fight and says "NOT NOW!" and ends the call. That absolutely kills me.
The "I'm so fed up with this shit" attitude he develops through the game is so well written.
meanwhile for me its "Stick around, I'm full of bad ideas."
He's too talented to be this underrated. Hopefully, when the inevitable live action adaptation gets announced, they let him play Isaac.

It only makes sense to have him play Issac. He's literally him. Also if Carpenter isn't the guy directing it, what's the point?

He’s great. I emailed him many years ago telling how much the game meant to me, how his performance was impactful and meaningful to me, and I asked him for an autograph. Didn’t hear anything for awhile then one day I got an envelope with a headshot of his and personalized to me. It remains a prized possession of mine till this very moment.

Gunner Wright does such a phenomenal job as Isaac Clark. I'm surprised he doesn't get more work as a voice actor, cause he is awesome.
He should be up there with the likes of Nolan North and Troy Baker.

I saw his movie that came out right after Deadspace (Love, 2011 was on Netflix for a while) and damn if I couldn't help but see him as alt Isaac.

I once interviewed this guy for a school project back in 2019. He was such a cool, friendly dude! I'm glad EA brought him back for the remake, & I hope they continue to use him in the (presumably) future sequels and/or remakes! 😁

That is amazing! I hope he gets more voice acting roles for other games I feel like he would do a great job. I notice he doesn’t have that much film or tv credits. I hope this will boost his career. I’d love to see him in more projects.

@@marzzzuq Haha! I actually only interviewed him through emails. We were supposed to do a Skype meeting originally, but there were complications. 😅 Nevertheless, it was still so awesome & such an honour speaking with that guy! He's amazing.
Oh, & the project revolved around each class member having to interview someone for a writing topic of their choice. I was replaying the Dead Space Trilogy at the time & thought, "hey, why don't I see if I can interview Gunner Wright?" So, I looked up his email, messaged him, & the rest is history. ☺
Yeah might be a bit hard for sequels...

If this remake is successful I hope it allows a dead space 2 and dead space 3 remade completely. I doubt they will do it without him.... Hopefully
They won't do it without him. They specifically didn't want anyone else.
I mean if they do spin-off like a prequel about the first marker it would make sense not to use him.

@@Kobalt_Rax_the_one we won't see anything new dead space for a while anyway. The studio is making an iron man game and then we don't know what's after. So may be another 8 years till we get a new dead space in some form
The fact that they actually used Gunner´s face in the remake is what made Isaac Complete..

@@TheSundayShooterI honestly love all looks really and it was interesting that they used Gunner wright face and the body actor who played Isaac combine them together.
They got the colouring wrong though. I can see that they modeled Isaac's face off Gunner... but the rosey cheeks and ginger hair.... It was weird, because Gunner's true colouring is more like classic Isaac. I hope that the DS2 remake makes Isaac look a bit more like Gunner. A bit more rugged, with greys and stubble. Maybe it was intentional to make him look too fresh for 1, so they could show how knackered he becomes in 2 and 3?

I love Gunner Wright, I know that Isaac having a voice in the remake is divisive since Isaac was silent in the original Dead Space but Gunner earned his role since Dead Space 2 so for him to reprise his role again as Isaac Clarke in the remake is a win in my opinion.
Gunnar IS Isaac Clark and IDC who says otherwise.
I did not like Isaac being silent in the original because I could not connect with him, which was exacerbated by introducing a personal element: his girlfriend, Nicole. If they were going to have us be the stand-in for Isaac by having him be a silent protagonist, the developers should have never conceived Nicole, which makes the twist of Nicole always being dead fall flat.
Personally, I am glad that they are giving Isaac a voice in the remake.
It’s definitely not divisive. I’ve seen nothing but positive comments on him speaking. Why do people call things divisive when it’s not at all ?😂

I guess they saw him in 2008 later they added him as Isaac in 2011. And the rest is history.

He did such a great job in dead space 2, I didn't even think twice about Isaac not having a voice in the first one.
I so badly want this franchise to come back. I just pre-ordered the deluxe edition in hopes that helps to make this game successful. Hate me if you want, but i just want Dead Space to really make a strong comeback.
Thankfully the reviews come out a day before release, so we’ll know in like 8-10 hours if it’s a decent game or not. Should be, if they’re confident to let the reviews come out a day early. They’ll always be people who will never forgive EA for what they did to visceral and dead space. I personally think EA have learnt their lesson after Jedi Fallen Order and Cap-com’s recent Resident evil games.

When I heard that the remake of DS1 will be retroactively voice acted and Gunner is returning, it become instant buy on day one for me.

Dr. Kyne, Hammond, Captain Mathias were all better in the original. However, Challus Mercer and Kendra were better in the remake... Kendra comes across much softer/less bitchy.

I never played the OG Dead Space, so when I played the remake I thought Isaac and the rest of the crew were awesome. I loved how him and Nicole were an older career orientated couple, it really leaned into the believability of him knowing how to jerryrig shit and brute force systems. But the age aspect also leans heavily into his dependence on his love and how every loss of life affects him so dramatically. I love the game
I grew up watching and playing dead space. Its my number 1 horror game franchise.
Resident Evil is mine. But Dead Space is up there, along with Silent Hill. Those are my top 3 horror game franchises.

i will say dead space was one of those series that got me back into gaming and was hooked! up there with some of the resident evil titles
