I’ve been watching all of this series. I don’t ever expect to have a reason or application to buy any of these hitches. I find it very educational. I can appreciate the shock absorbing aspect for the truck. I’m not convinced that the shock absorption for the trailer is evident.
I'm not sure if it was actually happening or if it was just an optical illusion, but the shank that goes into the receiver appeared to be flexing a little bit. The back of the truck was oscillating up and down, but the hitch head looked to be moving separately from the receiver. The Gen-Y rigid ball mount was doing the same thing.
I don’t tow that often and surely not this much weight; nevertheless it’s an interesting series. Please explain or demo your app a little more and how that works, perhaps make it a final video. Interesting.
Thanks for making these videos With all due respect to your intuition about the trailer and what it feels. Nothing in the hitch is gonna help what it feels. Im an 18 wheeler driver and unless you have airide or soft suspension on the trailer all of the bumps woll transfer through. The hitch will have no effect other than what you feel in the truck.
For example all of the intermodels being transferred to straight trailers feel the road, and the air ride in the truck doesn't help the cargo at all. Just what the driver feels
@unknown_truckers Not to dispute what you are saying. Light pallets cargos tend to bounce around more in a non air-ride. When loaded in the rear of the trailer. Air-ride is a plus for driver and cargos at end of the day.
Every video is a real treat! Thank you for your creativity and professionalism.🏝🐎🙄

I wonder if the issue is the max tongue weight vs somewhere in the 75% max. IE have more available compression to absorb those shocks.
Like you said early in the video, I've just never seen the need for these but hey, to each their own

I thought it was the shank bending at first but it is the actual receiver on the truck flexing causing the hitch to look like it is flexing
