Some info to complete your analysis : Therion created Symphonic Metal in 1996 with the album Theli. Metallica did their Symphonic concert in 1999. Therion appeared in Wacken 2001 with a choir on stage (this is so disruptive considering the year! The concert exists in UA-cam, I suggest you check it out, whether in a reaction or not). Therion's big Miskolc concert was in 2007. Since their beginning, Therion has worked with 52 vocalists over the years! But the female singer here, Lori Lewis (she's American) is one of their most iconic and is still recording her voice in today's Therion albums though she does not tour anymore. In this Miskolc concert, the mastermind and creator of Therion (who is 1 guy, and not the whole band) is Christofer Johnsson, and he is the guitarist with long blonde hair and white shirt. Dates for Symphonic Metal : 1989 : Therion (Death Metal era) 1996 : Therion (Symphonic Metal) 1997 : Nightwish, Haggard, Rhapsody (Luca Turilli), Within Temptation 2003 : Epica
Christopher Johnsson is the best composer of our time... Kristian Niemann is the best guitar player in symphonic metal and Lori Lewis is the best metal soprano... Hail to the Masters!!!
Therion is easily the best band on the planet. Opera metal must be the highest form of contemporary music and Therion are the masters. They have no equals.
Deep Purple, both in 1969 when Jon Lord (keyboardist) composed the “Concerto for Band and Orchestra” which had an incredible performance with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. On December 31, 1985 Jethro Tull recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra the orchestral album “A Classic Case”. Yngwie J. Malmsteen and his performance with the Japanese Philharmonic Orchestra in 1998. In 1999 Metallica recorded a phenomenal concert with the San Francisco Symphony titled, “S&M” (short for Symphony & Metallica). P.S. None influenced symphonic metal. The father of the genre is guitarist Christofer Johnson (Therion) who used Celtic Frost as a reference.
This version is GREAT for obvious reasons but you know what? The version from Live Gothic is even more iconic. Of course a choir and orchestra brings a total different feel (and its more like the studio version) but their element of doing it with their touring vocalists is a special thing in its own. And believe me when i say: Lori and Katarina singing the women parts together is like nothing else
I love Therion, but this version of the band with the Niemann brothers (guitar and bass) plus one of the best and versatil singers Mats Leven and the mastermind Cristofer Johnsson is epic!
Even if 'Blood of kingu' is a great song, it's far from the best experience from this consert. 'Rise of Sodom and Gomorra' or 'Clavigula nox' or 'Via nocturna' would be a better choice.
The beast Therion, the parents of Symphonic Metal! 🤘🏻 Lori one of my favorite singers within the genre.
Lori 😍😍😍 what a song. What an ending. What a band

Absolutely correct IMHO.

Great one! Love Mats vocals 🤘

There's also the "Lingua Mortis" album from Rage from 1996, their first collaboration with the Symphonic Orchestra Prague.

Celebrator of becoming version is better, cause the little choir and power in that one
Live Gothic is the best! ❤️❤️❤️
@@metalka_ is a good show too, but its not the same without choir like Celebrator of Becoming

😎
El único detalle negativo es que la banda está más fuerte con respecto al volumen de la orquesta
