- The iconic Ford Mustang may be 55 years old, but its lineage has stayed strong all the way through to the modern day. To find the root of that storied lineage, we sought out two of the finest examples of restored classic Mustangs in India - a 1968 Bullitt Mustang replica and a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with a 5.8-litre V8, both owned by car historian Manvendra Singh. Shapur Kotwal drove down to Indore to meet them in a modern 2018 Ford Mustang GT.

That is one lucky man! He has a 69 Mach 1 with the 351ci V8 and manual transmission! Most classic Mustangs in India have an automatic, he is so lucky.

But when you say how can i afford it then youll start to think more positive about it making money is real easy you need to sacrifice your time for learning debts taxes and so on im only 15 and i already study these things but dont save money soon dollar will crash so is euro but think like a rich and youll be one in one day but remeber you need to sacrifice and work hard. The more you learn the more you earn.

Fun fact is the 1st gen (64-73) had 4 major revisions! The original and the classic '64 body style that grew bigger for '67 to accomodate the larger engines like the 427 and 428 and then came the muscle car Mustang, the '69 body style and lastly came the '71 which wasn't much of a looker.

Is it just me or the SN95 New Edge and the S197 looked waay better than the current one(S550)?
I'd rather prefer S197 and Foxbody over anything else.
The car which is launched in india, is actually 2015 ford mustang, which wass defeated by its old rival 2015 chevy camaro SS. Not always mustang can be a better car, but its good in pony segment.

It's a shame, the 2019 Bullit Mustang won't make it to India. Neither did the GT350/350R or Shelby. But it's an icon. Hope one day, they start assembling these in India, maybe with the Ecoboost engine and a manual gearbox.

I had the 1969 mustang back in 1980. It was a really nice car. I can never forget that I sold it for 500 bucks and it was in really good shape. Oh well now I kick my self but I can now say I owned one.
I study in 10 class and i am from india. I'm 15 years old . I want to build my own car. My design is ready.the design is like a muscle car.dual exhaust ,v8 engine, for barrel carb. So can i get a 1969 mustang body it doesn't matter crashed or old. I will pay you for this

You should also compare chevy camaros and dodge challengers.. Autocar always compared to mustangs or luxury car launched. I think, autocar know that there are also much better cars..
