Love the whole build up for this track from Pat Metheny's solo guitar performance to the sounds of gongs to helicopters to the whole group coming in, i always enjoyed listening to the As Falls Wichita live performance from 1981 - 1982 tours as PMG changed this epic piece around lots of time at every show with lots of experimentation and improvisation. Never get tired of hearing this classic
Nice. I saw him play it with the quartet - Mark Egan on board - in 1980 on a Friday night in Boston. I was very lucky to catch many shows during the 81-82 stretch. Cheers.

I totally love this piece - it's been a huge influence on me in terms of soundscape, composition and the like but it's very interesting that the improv section with the "flight of the soul from the body in death" section is totally different than the one on "Travels" and the organ section in particular evokes a different mood than that or the studio version. I love this!
