Not necessarily a problem for me, but it might look a little suspect to some people when they get a "Twin Video Rental" charge in their monthly statement.
Really appreciate the mention of the insane crunch time that went into this game. A very serious issue in the industry that a lot of people love to turn a blind eye towards
Raising Kratos does a great job at highlighting not just the crunch, but nearly every aspect that goes into making a video game and how tolling it can be on everyone involved.
The state of the industry is one of the biggest reasons I chose cybersecurity over game dev. $60 for a new big game yearly is a business model that can't keep up.
yeah, an example of this happening is with Sakarai making melee. the dude didn't eat or sleep for days on end and had to be hospitalized because of it. honestly it's an issue that I wish was addressed more, hell even Tekken creator Harada also commented on this issue and says it's the reason why he likes to make sure the games last, because he doesn't want excessive work that's more than necessary
Working in software development it’s like this in most industries these days. Agile has taken over and while good, many leaders see it as “faster” and push past a teams actual velocity. I’m glad I’m at a company that doesn’t expect OT but most aren’t that way, whatever it takes or get to the next release on time.
The comedic synergy of Tony's deadpan with Eddy's exaggeration compliment one another perfectly. I don't know if it's a brother thing or a comedy writing thing but you guys play it out perfectly. The jokes were just hitting with this one for me.
I went back to my parents house to visit recently. My younger brother asked me to play this game with him and I played as the legs the whole time. We spent half an hour with him as general grievous chasing the legs around trying to kill me but those little legs were just too fast lmao. Was a nice time with my typically indifferent teenage brother and I’m glad I’m not the only one who appreciates the magic of the legs. Also the slug, claud, is fucking horrifying I hate how he waddles at you so fast
I fought my brother in lego star wars and we still play it every few months. However, this game's expectations were set way too high by the fans of the original. The Burback boys do a great job in expressing how the game is great when you pair it with fair expectations of a completely different adaptation of a classic. Nice video.
Appreciate it! I think that when there’s a sequel/reboot like this, fans kind of put on blinders to everything that’s new and only notice what isn’t there from before - eddy
@@Burback That's exactly what happens and I knew it was happening. There's legitimate issues like the trailing missions and odd character choices within the game but nostalgia just can never be beat.
I don’t think expectations were set too high. It’s got plenty of issues. I don’t blame devs, it’s on Disney for forcing out an announcement before it should’ve been released, but with so many issues now it just doesn’t feel right. Doktor Skipper makes a great video breaking down issues. I understand people wanting to believe it’s the best Lego game for nostalgia reasons, but so many good parts of the game got removed, even ones that were advertised (battle of geonosis).

Burback has quickly become one of my favorite channels and a great place for fun video essays. I have watched the Wii Sports video probably 5 times at least. nothing else to say, just here to say keep up the great work boys!!!
The only complaint I had about the split screen is that there wasn’t an option to do horizontal split screen. The vertical just did not work for me and my wife, it was too limiting for a game that honestly had a lot of stuff going on in your periphery that we couldn’t see.

Oh contrair, there is much to fight about, you just have to be creative, (sometimes) 1. When you start a mission or go to a different area, both players have to agree on this 2. When you're a sith, you can just pick up player 1, or 2 and kill them 3. When you're a jedi and the other player is a Droid, you can throw them anywhere you want
Your points in the video definitely convinced me to pick up this game, the original was such a big part of my childhood. Watching this already made my day

I have a really distinct memory of playing the complete saga with my dad when I was about 7 while eating BBQ flavored pringles… the entire wii remote and nunchuck were covered in a thin layer of BBQ flavored powder. Such great memories from that game.
I’m playing through this game right now. I loved the original games and I think this one is an excellent step forward for the Lego Star Wars games. I am having an absolute blast exploring and collecting everything. But oh my god, and I’m so glad you guys mentioned this, but O or B being the button for the force push / weapon withdraw / grenade / pretty much everything is so so infuriating. The Disney Sequels are kinda hard to get through....but much, MUCH less so than the actual movies themselves. If you want an uber passionate celebration of Star Wars? This is your game bro
Id recommend the complete saga. This game is very streamlined with most levels being around 3 minutes with plenty of cutscenes walks. Most of the characters have much more mechanical overlap and feel very samey with C3PO having combat strings and Boba Fett having a small hop for his jetpack. You'll feel the limited repetitive design boring quickly.
@@Eggolas then go ahead. Id recommend other Lego games before this one. Lego City Undercover is underrated. But if you need more Star Wars Lego right now at full price then go ahead.
My household’s first move in free play was to grind out the stud multiplier. Now the most expensive items in the game barely make a dent in our wealth 🤑
I agree completely that a game like this is impossible with hyper-realistic graphics. But I also think a simpler, more fun art style is better than realism for a game like this in the first place. I feel like it allows for more creative freedom and fun (and more content) that a more serious game wouldn’t be able to do. And I’d argue it looks more interesting. I wish more games would take this approach even outside of lego. The majority of games aren’t going to look like horizon forbidden west so why not make them look more interesting/artistic while also making it easier on the devs (and maybe even get us, the epic gamers, more content)? Just as a quick example because I like talking about this stuff: we probably won’t be getting a new batman game anytime soon and while lego batman exists, it doesn’t hit the same as a true batman game would. Why not combine the two and have the same function as a normal batman game with all the charm, fun, and simplicity (for ease of development) as a lego game, kind of like how the skywalker saga goes beyond a typical lego game to feel like a huge star wars game
They are both unique in their own ways, my only real problem with the new one is lack of character customization and no force ghost characters, besides that I really like it.
The crunch is so baffling bc like... what was the rush? The game wasn't on a holiday release deadline. It didn't have to coincide with any Star Wars movie/show release. Like don't get me wrong, crunch is always bad regardless of whether it's "justified," but the game came out in April, half a year away from Christmas, and the most recent movie the game ties into came out in 2019
Tony is such a great straight man to Eddy. Since Eddy already had his own channel we've been used to his... unique sense of humor, so having a regular dude to reel him in at times is nice.
My biggest gripe about the new game that you boys didn’t mention in the video is the short delay between Maul igniting his dual blades. I would have loved to see a remastered animation of the original game where the second lightsaber blade igniting felt truly epic. In this game it feels taken for granted and kind of looked over. A small complaint, but important in my opinion. Great video boys, and Tony, keep an eye on Eddy. He might try to get you again
Main Problem for me was, that every character in a character group is pretty much the same. This way i don`t really care which one i am playing. In the old games characters like Boba Fett or IG-88 where speciall because they got unique abilities and even bad characters got these kinds of abilities like one guy forgetting in which pocket his blaster was so he needs double the time to draw it. This way i wanted to test every character out. But now i don`t have a reall reason to try
By far the funniest aspect of this game is the combat system. It is absolutely hilarious that the combat feels like baby's first DEVIL MAY CRY, with launchers and juggling and some characters can almost enemy step??? But none of the enemies have anywhere near enough health to really flex that freedom. So what inevitably happens is you find the nearest unkillable child and beat the absolute shit out of them to see how far you can push the combat. Which again, is WAY farther than you'd ever need to.
8:10 CLEARLY the people who made THIS game LIVED through the Complete Saga as kids.. and didn't want anyone else to lose their sibling to a Star Wars game.
It took me so long to realize that a Burback was speaking to me - it took a picture with Eddy to make me check the channel and go “ohhhh that’s why he’s so sarcastic.”
i have to say, i prefer the two player non-split screen of the old game. like i wish there was an option to turn the split screen off and play it in classic mode.
I checked if the band stops playing their instruments when you turn off the music like as soon as this game came out because of the last Lego star wars video hahaha
Hey guys, love it! Another banger from the Burback Boys! If I could offer one constructive comment it would be, add something distinctive to your thumbnails that screams “this is a Burback joint”. I’ve missed your videos in my feed, and almost did again today, because the thumbnail looks too similar to other Channels I’m subscribed to but watch less frequently, like IGN. I skip right past them because I don’t care what ign has to say about Star Wars lol but then I look at the channel name and I’m like “oh shit I almost missed u! Get over here you little stinker!”
Complete saga was one of my favorite old games I played as a kid. I know as the 20 year old playing a game intended for kids I'm not the target audience. But I didn't want elden ring bosses I wanted some sort of puzzle in the boss fight at least. I maxed the difficulty knowing it would be an easy game. The humor was amazing though. I put it on myself for getting to many expectations up. I was expecting some levels to go through but mostly the open worldness was just annoyed at having to walk slowly with the npc to a random area. Idk. I like levels and the conciseness of going from one to the other with a small or medium hub. I have 0 complaints on the actual levels when I got to them but I felt like there was huge spaces between actual levels. Again, had a blast with each level. WHEN I GOT TO THEM. I'm not a huge fan of open world's anyhow so that immediately put some negatives for me.
I didn't think I would enjoy a video about lego starwars so much. I enjoy your comedic style, you guys can make any topic interesting and entertaining. Good work boys
Your Lego Star Wars videos unlocked some very beloved memories of playing the game with my brother. Luckily I was able to find Skywalker saga at a reuse store for ¥1,100 (about $8) and just want to thank you for this nostalgic fun
Lesson of the Day: Tt games are one of the best video game company ever. Not just because they make lego games, but because they are AWESOME AND PUT THEMSELVES FOR SO MUCH FOR US and make lego games.
From watching some of the Lego shows with my son, I would say there is about five jokes a minute in those shows, Whether it be they use early 2000s randomness, or visual gags, they are definitely trying to reach as many audiences as possible. I think I first noticed this watching the emergency and rescue show with my three year old.
Real OG’s will remember loading their Lego Star Wars 1 unlocks into their Lego Star Wars 2 game to get all the first games characters before the complete saga
my biggest annoyance with the game... when you are playing as a bounty hunter or imperial, when you press the action button, at least 40% of the time you'll throw a grenade, and everyone goes insane, including the person you were trying to talk to but accidently blew up his face
On the B/Circle button complaint, it's also the button to rip protocol droids like C3PO in half. Which I also learned after completing the game 100% is a completely useless function anyways there's no reason for other characters to rip protocol droids in half and carry them around. But since it's also the button to use the force to move droids around often you'll be accidentally ripping droids in half when you're trying to use the force on them to get them to a certain area for a puzzle, which can get pretty annoying after awhile.
Just on the note of content and crunch: more crunch does not equal more content. Another game series with lightsaber like weapons is the Xenoblade series, which take hundreds of hours to complete. The devs of those games, Monolithsoft, famously are anti crunch, having a 40 hour *maximum* work week with overtime. And as a result, they are releasing Xenoblade 3 ahead of schedule.
I am not a adult but i also had the lego starwars the complete saga and it was one of my favorite games of all time i played it all the time with my brother i dindt remeber it until about a few week ago when i saw a video of the new game and i was so surprised about it and i am planning on getting it soon
Great video, Great Game. I’m just pissed how easy the Emperors fight is. I remember so vividly when my dad and I got into the emperor battle we were dumbfounded on ho hard we found that one. Only to replace with spamming prompts
I think the whole thing in general is that people were expecting their nostalgia recaptured instead of something new. I expected it to be a grind because it's covering 9 whole episodes and with the fact there are hub worlds it makes sense how much grinding there would be. My main issue overall is the unreplayability vs the replayability. There are some levels and story beats you cannot repeat and that is frustrating in itself. Also some levels we're not made that I wish were made such as the Battle above Coruscant, multiplayer duel of Anakin vs Obi-Wan and more. Some of the humor felt like it was off putting in comparison to others. Where some scenes were respected it felt like others were treated in bad taste. Still there's no doubt how incredible it all looks and all the characters you play as are very diverse and fun. People talk about the repetitiveness but ignore the repetitive nature of the other games too. So that's just expected overall. I'm willing to bet this comment goes in comment purgatory.

@@cdubsb3831 bro i did complete saga about a 100 times already
@@Eggolas then go ahead. Id recommend other Lego games before this one. Lego City Undercover is underrated. But if you need more Star Wars Lego right now at full price then go ahead.
@@rileymachelle4088 gameplay wise, the Sequels are probably the most fleshed out trilogy
I love the content on this channel. You guys have innovated on a classic format in an entertaining and hilarious way
This video is great, I’m surprised you were able to put so much into it given the intense time crunch
You guys are so fun to watch I love this channel. Especially the mentions of fighting over the screen it brings back memories lol
The Complete Saga came out in 2007, not 2006.
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy came out in 2006.
8:10 CLEARLY the people who made THIS game LIVED through the Complete Saga as kids.. and didn't want anyone else to lose their sibling to a Star Wars game.
You know what’s crazy is that I just did the Death Star quest like 10 minutes ago and the. Saw this video with it talking about the Death Star quest
I love this channel ngl, the banter you have reminds me so much of mine with my sister which pairs with 00s nostalgia perfectly 👌👌
My roommate and I played the ROTS Mustufar boss battle as C-3PO’s body and legs just beating the shit out of Anakin with a dismembered c-3po
Gonna play this game with my buddy when I get home from college for the summer. This video just got me so hype for it. Thx boys
Its a good game and playing one episode in story mode took about 2 hours, real fun
I didn't think I would enjoy a video about lego starwars so much. I enjoy your comedic style, you guys can make any topic interesting and entertaining. Good work boys
id love to see one of these with the new switch sports!
Your Lego Star Wars videos unlocked some very beloved memories of playing the game with my brother. Luckily I was able to find Skywalker saga at a reuse store for ¥1,100 (about $8) and just want to thank you for this nostalgic fun
i swear these videos just get better and better, amazing content as always
Love this game so much, the thing that bummed me out though is that there is no custom character creation :'(
There is a good reason why the complete saga is called the COMPLETE saga. It is complete and does not include the spinoff movies
I hope they go over the new switch sports game! That's gonna be a great video
dude the fact these vids are ad free is nuts.
CONGRATS ON A MILLION EDDY ILY
Lesson of the Day: Tt games are one of the best video game company ever. Not just because they make lego games, but because they are AWESOME AND PUT THEMSELVES FOR SO MUCH FOR US and make lego games.
From watching some of the Lego shows with my son, I would say there is about five jokes a minute in those shows, Whether it be they use early 2000s randomness, or visual gags, they are definitely trying to reach as many audiences as possible. I think I first noticed this watching the emergency and rescue show with my three year old.
I’m 23 and This game is fun. As a long time star wars fan this is very refreshing and FUN!! I love it
Real OG’s will remember loading their Lego Star Wars 1 unlocks into their Lego Star Wars 2 game to get all the first games characters before the complete saga
Great work as always, boys! Keep it up!
The droids in the phantom Menace mission better call maul do the Easter egg of not playing music if the music is off.
my biggest annoyance with the game... when you are playing as a bounty hunter or imperial, when you press the action button, at least 40% of the time you'll throw a grenade, and everyone goes insane, including the person you were trying to talk to but accidently blew up his face
This was a great video to come home to after finishing pharmacy school finals
the ability to play as C3-P0s legs is so funny
best video yet! love your guys' chemistry
I’m just gonna mention this because it’s brought up throughout the video, but Complete Saga came out in 2007, not 2006.
Luckiest day of my life was finding Lego Star Wars: the complete saga, for $2 at my local library in their “For sale” pile back in 2008
They uploaded this on may the 4th….
Well played
Just on the note of content and crunch: more crunch does not equal more content. Another game series with lightsaber like weapons is the Xenoblade series, which take hundreds of hours to complete. The devs of those games, Monolithsoft, famously are anti crunch, having a 40 hour *maximum* work week with overtime. And as a result, they are releasing Xenoblade 3 ahead of schedule.
I cant believe I didnt see this video!
Gotta say love that the phantom menace is just the same stretch of naboo swamp over and over
Goddamn do you two know how to make a good video. Amazing work boys keep it up.
This video is actually hilarious and when you guys asked us to buy your shirt it sounded like Danny Gonzales
I am not a adult but i also had the lego starwars the complete saga and it was one of my favorite games of all time i played it all the time with my brother i dindt remeber it until about a few week ago when i saw a video of the new game and i was so surprised about it and i am planning on getting it soon
This game is probably in my top 25 favorite games ever. It’s shockingly good, and surpasses every other Lego game by a mile
you did good burbros. that's what we call you now. we own you
Great video, Great Game. I’m just pissed how easy the Emperors fight is. I remember so vividly when my dad and I got into the emperor battle we were dumbfounded on ho hard we found that one. Only to replace with spamming prompts
i want a remake like this for the harry potter lego series, without the time crunshing of course
What an appropriate date for this video to be released
