Good point. I make good money and run a shop that generates about 100-130k a year give or take. I live in Tx. Got two other family members to take care of. This is considered decent enough living and I could never find the time and money to get all the best gaming gear and practice like a mother trucker. Most people by far don't have that luxury. I am a post collegiate sprinter and I know for a fact that because of Jamaica’s CULTURE they produce fast runners. They view track and field in the same way we (Americans) view football.
Would I ever say we have the best football players in the world because of our genetics? That would be silly. We have the best because football is our primary sport. It’s a big part of our CULTURE. Not genetics.
Also I should add this whole argument is dumb to me. What are the stats on how much of the population is a professional athlete? Like 1%? So the VAST majority of people do not have these talents. Saying the NFL is 80% black says nothing about the vast majority of black people. It only says we are more likely to be more athletic. You can’t use this to extrapolate some general fact about the entire race.
Another example is using crime stats to generalize black people as inherently criminal. This ignores the fact that 99% of black people aren’t criminals.... ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
If white Americans and black americans have the same Olympic training, then why is it that blacks always come out on top in sprinting? Your "culture" argument doesn't hold up. Africans have longer legs and more fast-twitch muscle fibers to help with sprinting compared to Europeans.

The athleticism of the average “black” person in the US is way more similar to the athleticism of the average “white” person than to a pro “black” athlete. We may find out that the vast majority of pro “black” athletes are descendants of people with abnormal muscle function and longer limbs but the majority of “black” people do not have the same ancestry. Who knows? But that’s way more plausible then saying all or most “black” people have more fast twitch muscles and longer limbs when the vast majority of “black” people are no where near as athletic as pro athletes. Also, virtually all “black” Americans are mixed with Europeans. We aren’t precisely Africans anymore.

My main problem with the Salt Right/Race Realist is the fact that they never really say what their conclusions will lead to. Destiny basically said it best. If they have lower IQs then there's nothing we can do about it. We can fix issues in society and within the system but once a person is born there's not much we can do about genetics. The conclusion they never say is either genocide or full exclusion. Both of those things require either time or violence (or both). Nobody is going to just up and leave their fucking house and life behind because someone says they're inferior. Also if IQ is the end all be all then what should we do about white people or any other race who has a lower IQ?
The conclusion is we need eugenics and genetic engineering programs.
So far only watched the first 20 minutes but it sounds like he suggests that we should dramatically reduce the amount of immigrants because according to him they will make the host country more like the guest country.
No one seems to know that none of the available IQ studies has isolated race, none of them has been able to prove causality direction by separating culture, health and socioeconomics.
Joshua Wonser What all these "race realists" do, is that they take a sub-group or anecdotes of underperforming immigrants and extrapolate it to the whole group and all immigrants of that ethnicity.

The caller is from Australia but fails to realise that Australia mainly takes skilled and business immigrants, who are high performing regardless of ethnicity. He points to a particular group who are refugees and then extrapolates to immigration as a whole.
Joshua Wonser The fact that the caller didn't even know how the Australian immigration works, means that he has been getting his information from American sources that are about the immigration in the US.
The groups that he referred to are refugees. It is understandable that refugees underperform because of their background and many other factors. He can argue that taking refugees does not help the native population, which would be hard to argue against from any standpoint other than a moral one. But he instead extrapolates to the whole immigration and race, which is easily proven to be wrong especially with Australian immigration system.

Evolution was never considered legitimate, so there was no academic discipline surrounding it. If there was, and that academic discipline said that evolution was NOT real based of actual evidence, then Darwin would be a fool to challenge that without compelling evidence.
There is a reason why people in the field this guy is talking about don’t agree with his views, and that’s because the evidence is not there to support it. If this guy wants to challenge that, then he can go out and do the research and publish it. Otherwise, he is speaking out his ass.

Yes, evidence, something you should be more concerned about than pieces of paper, because a piece of paper 1) doesn't make you correct 2) doesn't free you from bias or corruption and 3) doesn't mean that without that piece of paper you wouldn't have any relevant knowledge regarding your credentials, unless you can prove otherwise that all people without credentials fail to be correct about a given topic.
If the world was filled with umscientific standards that you have then evolution would have never been recognized, you aren't being rational, you have just been convinced of this authoritarian standard (to some degree).

Appeal to authority is not fallacious. It’s fellatious when the authority figure you are appealing to has no real reason to be considered an authority on the subject. For example, saying “the vaccine is good because the president said it is” is a fallacious appeal to authority. Because the president is not a doctor or a scientist. He dosent know enough to be an authority on the subject. But saying “the vaccine is good because 90% of doctors say so” is a legitimate appeal to authority.
It is impossible to be an authority figure on everything. You HAVE to rely on other people to give you accurate information. When you get your car fixed, you are trusting that mechanic to fix it properly. When someone does something illegal to you, you trust the law and lawyers to deliver justice. You appeal to authority every single day. In court, if there is some discussion around the intricacies of technology, the judge will force either the prosecutor or defense to bring forward an expert to testify. That is an appeal to authority from the court.
You seem to think “appeal to authority” is inherently fallacious, which it is not. Me and you cannot have a legitimate discussion about if vaccines are safe or not, because we simply do not know. The best thing to do is to appeal to the authority on the subject. Not to ANY authority.
If you have a problem with an authority figure and you think that they are not legitimate, then you have to explain why. Otherwise all you are saying is “this person who knows more than me, is telling me something I don’t like, so I reject it”. Darwin didn’t say “I don’t like what the authority is saying on how animals came to be, fuck em”. He went out, did research, and published it. He challenged authority by educating himself on the subject, and came up with the theory of evolution. He became the authority figure on the subject. The previous authority was not legitimate, because it did not have the basis and evidence to be so.

Exactly. I was a little girl who probably had the flexibility and balance and skill to have been a great gymnast, and I would've loved to do so, but never in a million years could I have ever afforded the training/gym time/equipment/coaching to do so.
I had fun roof-tripping (leaping from one six storey tenement's roof to the next across a narrow alley) and swinging around on fire escapes and the detritus of abandoned lots, but whatever innate skill I had, was never able to be professionally honed.

If you look at the human brain across the board of ethnicities they all function the same, and look the same. Of course I'm speaking broadly and ignoring individual differences in the brain, but every single person's brain differs in function a bit.

I was born in Jamaica, his argument about genetics being the only resource for runners is literally the most idiotic thing. Have you seen the kind of food Jamaicans eat!!? Especially our athletes. They foster our athletic talents from a young age as well. People there start running when they’re five. It’s a huge part of the culture and the athletes have very clean diets. Many Jamaicans basically live off of fruits and vegetables lol.
Do you think European runners dont watch their diet and get the best possible training, most likely even better than in Jamaica? Yet they still cant compete. It's not only Jamaicans btw, blacks dominate in almost all the running disciplines.

@illegal_opinions they're building coal plants, but i think you're missing the point on exactly what this means. you see, there are three types of coal plants. subcritical, critical, and supercritical. subcritical plants run at low temperatures and tend to be inefficient and spit a lot of emissions out. critical plants are slightly better, but still are somewhat inefficient and pollute quite a bit. supercritical plants are by far the best and hottest-burning. their emissions are the lowest, and are the most efficient. china is building primarily supercritical plants. also, i would like to mention that while doing so they are upgrading their subcritical and critical plants to supercritical plants as well. also, nuclear power stations don't contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. i don't know where you got that idea.
@illegal_opinions they did grow, however they grew slower than was expected and the emissions growth has largely plateaued in recent years. it's even predicted that the emissions will peak in 2030, which means that from there it'll be a downward trend. so yes they did grow but very slowly relative to the US or india, who both continue to emit more and more carbon.

This point is forcefully made in the book Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. Jeffrey Sachs have also written a lot about malaria and its detrimental impact on the development of the African continent. You could look up some of his work too, and the authors he cites.

The thing that baffles me about race realists is that they claim to be realists but completely ignore all the academic literature showing that the genetic differences between the races is just as much as within the races.
With this in mind, anyone with an ounce of reason could see its far more likely for these racial problems to be due to a social factor rather than a genetic one.
Even if you lets say said that the same gene that determines IQ determines skin color it still wouldn't be consistent because depending on where you are a race can vary widely on shades.

So while it maay be possible that any given race may all just be genetically born with a low IQ, its not what I'd say is tge most probable. This goes especially so due to the fact that such a connection of genes and IQ would merely be based on correlation due to our lack of knowledge on the matter.
Thus i find it far more likely that such IQ differences are for the most part caused by environmental factors rather than genetic ones.

Now, regarding the probability of these differences being genetic or not, we clearly have different opinions on the matter and as I’m sure we’re not scientists, and even if we were we would have no time to study the matter for the purpose of this UA-cam discussion, I’ll put forward this argument based on the idea of uncertainty regarding the nature component of the equation, which you yourself still recognize to exist, even while writing on the side of “it’s more likely they don’t exist”.
To flood European countries with immigrants coming from countries with a lower IQ simply because we don’t know for certain whether it’s genetic or not is the equivalent of letting yourself be bitten by an unknown snake to test whether he’s deadly or not. Since we’re unsure we should first make sure that the differences are wholly socio-economic/cultural and only then, once we know for sure they’re not genetic, let them come.
The matter of a people’s average intelligence is one too important to be “tested on the field”, so the only case in which mass immigration can be condoned (from a purely IQ-based perspective, which I’ll point out is not my only issue with it) is when we know for sure that there’s no genetic differences.
Uncertainty supports the anti-immigration side almost as much as certainty that there’s a difference would.

This would be more applicable to whether or not some IQs of groups differ on avg. On the other hand, there can be hundreds of reasons as to why certain groups may have lower avg IQs than others. The vast majority of which wouldn't be genetic related. Instead most of these possible reasons would be in sociological and/or environmental reasons. Not only that but unlike tge genetic possibilities, its much safer to say ones surroundings and upbringing would have an effect on intelligence. This is why i say a genetic reason would be unlikely as there are so many other reasons that we know would have an affect and can clearly see are in affect. On the immigration thoughts, discriminating based on avg IQs sounds pretty ridiculous. Not only for the reasons of why i said genetic isnt likely to be a cause but also because last I checked no country ever descriminated against IQ for immigration. This is with good reason as checking enough IQs to get an average would be pretty hard and time consuming. Especially as we couldn't go by avg of races as those are social constructs and the lines in which we draw for races are arbitrary and blurry at best and thus they would not be good for any sort of real legitimate consistent measurements. So, we would likely go by geography and end up with a crap ton of much smaller groups, each of which would have to be researched to see if they are homogeneous enough to themselves, all of this just to be wrong any for part of the time because averages aren't typically 100%s. Furthermore since its safe to say environmental factors are more likely to play a roll in IQ than genetic we have no idea how their IQ of them or their offspring would be affected by this new country they are immigrating into. Then there is the fact that range of the IQ of any given country is typically vast. People with low IQs exist and have a place in countries. Not every job requires 200IQ to do. There are more reasons why attempting to discriminate on a basis of IQ is pretty dumb but this reply is long.

Africans have a narrower pelvis shape, femur length proportional to torso length and flat long feet. These are all mechanically better for running. These are averages which suggest extremes would be more present in this group as well. Human hardware makes a difference in activity just like it would for a machine. You can't call physics racist. So yes a taller person will have a longer gait making them a better runner if they optimize it as they can cover more distance per stride but other mechanical factors are important too.

How could you possibly believe that there is some sort of consistent genetic factor relating to the economic state of blacks when Africa literally has more genetic variation than anywhere else worldwide?
This is a very easy rabbit hole to fall into. Back when I was 15 or 16 I was really into skeptic/gamergate/sjw cringe shit and eventually after a few months I started getting really into it. I started watching black pigeon speaks, Sargon, etc. and found race realism. It appeals to layman who have an interest in scientific data, but dont know how to really read or interpret it. When these professional looking and sounding 5 minute videos on race realism come out, they make statements that are broad enough to avoid seeming racist. As you go further into it, you begin seeing more stuff related to IQ, Genetic grouping, and Skull structure. When you can’t accurately understand the data and research on race, and people present simple explanations (or detailed ones once you’re more on depth), you begin to think that the idea itself isn’t so extreme. The best way to escape all of the echo chambers and false information traps, it’s important to watch both sides of the argument. Just because someone presents their ideas nicely, doesn’t make them true. At the very least, fact check your information with multiple sources, on browsers OTHER than google (bing, DuckDuckGo, tor, doesn’t matter, just don’t use google they’re extremely biased.

Maybe there is something to do with culture and which these demos participate in.
Hockey and golf for instance are expensive sports to play in terms of equipment and ice time(for hockey)...it creates a pseudo finnancial barrier at a minimum to start and get good at an early age. With hockey it also has a regional with cold weather.
Tennis isn't particularly expensive to play...but the tennis clubs have membership fees and it has a country club scene as well.
Basketball is one of the cheapest sports to play on terms of overall cost...the barrier to entry for poorer kids almost non existent.
All of this of course comes with the understanding that in present day America there are substantial racial wealth disparities.
Football is also a sport which is kinda different in many respects. In terms of the nature of the game it isn't a very repetitive heavy sport
Kids play baseball , basketball and hockey from a early age and get years of practice and reps. Football while there is peewee since it's very physical in nature the gap of starting football in highschool and starting say basketball in highschool is dramatic. There is a substantial portion of nflers who started in highschool....for the NBA it's and extremely rare exceptions (Tim Duncan is a notable.case....being 7 foot tall helps Duncan of course)
Within football however there is some exceptions...alot of qbs go to special qb camps at early ages and have qb tutors. This is one position with alot of repetive skill. This is also a position with disproportionate (to the NFL demo) white representation....while defense for instance is predominantly African american.
The positions in football that require more speed are more black besides wide receiver. Whites are mostly the positions that don’t require much speed like qb, linemen, tight end and linebacker is about even

You need regular equipment and resources to play something like polo or even ice hockey.
