Well is not totally pointless... Is there you can see it is tangible, there are results, some numbers, but doesn't matter the most, also no trophy, or medal await... The thing is beeing in there pass through... Such a massive effort and a impressive self imposed challenge and then take the time to edit and show us a bit inside ... Mind blowing... And all I (we) can do is give you the kudos and share... Extremely Jenny 😅 ... 🫵🏼🤘🏼👍🏼 On your own terms!
This was awesome Jenny. You are awesome! Thanks for coming to visit our little slice of Heaven. Us kiwis are often the kings of understatement when talking about difficulty ;-) So so glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Scott
You are so so so amazing Jenny just incredible video and adventure. I almost cried, but you can't tell anyone. You never fail to surprise and inspire sweet soul.
I love the wild places of my country, and was so pleased to see you developed an appreciation for it's rugged beauty too. I hope you keep wandering the trails and return to Aotearoa soon.
Brilliant video! I like your honesty and the way you potray the ups and downs on a trip like this instead of glamourising everything. It looked like an awesome trip!
Wowwww.....amazing! Fastpacking it is not easy at all, you always plan something and you just have to know things will be totally diferent in sight, this is so certain that it is the beauty of this kind of expedition, to doesn't know where it is gonna happen! Congrats A LOT!
You are bigger than life. Anyone like you performing such kink of extreme acts is beyond my imagination. I feel so slow for my life and your journey pushes me to wake up and challenge myself. Love.
Great video and as an aspiring filmmaker a really inspiring watch. I've not long been trail running but I'm a long time hiker and I'm looking to do some fastpacking in the coming months. Love the combination.
Really loved this video! In 2018 I hiked from Saint Etienne to Chamonix and loved it so much that I continued the journey in 2019 from Chamonix to Fusio along an extension of the Haute Route. I was chuckling when you said “these trails are so gnarly!” and that you weren’t making the progress you’d hope...because I felt the exact same way on both my trips. 😂. Ultimately, like you said, it’s not a race and you just have to enjoy every day and every experience you have on the trail, and the end is always bittersweet: warm bed...but the journey is over. And then you start planning the next one. 🤙
Hey! So nice to see your video Jenny. Don’t know if you remember, we met briefly during your walk while I was hiking during 24hours for my birthday! I totally agree with you, New Zealand alps are wonderful and not for running sometimes! Instead of doing zig zag, the kiwis go straight... shorter. Cheers
I met a Indian or maybe Pakistani woman at Papoose in the Trinity Alps. She was the tortoise and not the hare. The thing is she never stops turning over her legs and in the end she is the dominant hiker. She walks right past the others when they stop to rest. She is a force to be reckoned with in any steep relentless trail. She will run you down in time by walking right past you.
2 types of trail in new zealand, well manicured trail with board walks and straight up/down a mountain. Glad you got to enjoy cascade pass on a nice day, that thing is nuts.
So glad you got to visit NZ. Out of all the potential adventures there, you sure chose a challenge! Where did you start and finish? Would be interesting to see on a map.
Thanks Mark! I started in Glenorchy and finished in Saint Arnaud. The routes are on my Komoot www.komoot.com/user/385673470997 (sorry they might be hard to find)
Another amazing film, what a great trip! Very jealous! Is it a pain having to go back and grab your camera when you do a run by!? Get those extra miles in!
Thanks Simon! Sometimes it is, and on those days I don't tend to film much. But sometimes I really enjoy the mindfulness of trying to frame the beautiful places I'm running through, and stopping to set up my camera is an excuse for a break.
reading the headline and watching the first minutes I was thinking where in Europe is that, haha. Why are you running most of the time? Aren´t you missing out the beauty of the scenery ? Torn between admiring your bravery and the senselessness of running alone in the void. Anyway enjoying your clips thank you
Wow! Your videos keep getting better and better. What an awesome trip to do Jenny. You certainly are one Tough cookie that’s for sure. Did you carry food all the way or did you re stock en route? I hope you didn’t have to eat dried camp food the whole trip lol!
Thanks so much Sam! I think I had 4 resupplies on the whole route. It was dried camp food every night, I'm afraid, but I mixed up the brands and flavours. I was pretty excited to cook a real meal when it was over! :)
Hello Jenny! Such a nice Video! I adore the Alps, and I was wondering how hard it gets to move forward 2000m above sealevel (for me as a person who lives on flat land ist was not as fast and easy as planned). Sometimes things go wrong but if you want to get home you have to go on. Seeing you run on the mountans remembers me a little bit of Computergames in the past, it looks a little like Lara Croft :-) running around. So thank you for that what brings back memories from other places, especially Italy.
you are the ninth verse of the beauty of life, your path sussura to my heart, for a tomorrow that I will also betray with a rush and pass my life. that does not live, stops in oblivion. 😉❤️👍
Couple questions, any place where I can find your routes? You did it in february and a lot of snow in the higher parts, so no way do it in november right?
Thanks! The route is on my komoot profile (I think). There wasn't a lot of snow in Feb, but I think it had been a very hot summer. There are plenty of options to stay at low altitude if there's still snow in November!
"Jenny self-serving" "Jenny needs recognition" "Jenny... only what's in the mirror is important." Spot on! "It's a totally pointless mission..." you must be so proud, young lady. You Do know that Freud would have you crying within 30 seconds... don't you? Ride safe there princess.
"a challenge just for me, on my own terms" awesome.
Very inspiring. Thank you! I submitted my resignation letter right before I saw this video, perfectly in need of an 'on my own terms' phase next.
Amazing! I so enjoy your videos, they're enough to give people wanderlust!
Thanks Bob! :)
I am just loving your films and stories from epic scenery to your real and personal insight into your amazing human spirit!!
Wow - so epic. You’re at the top of the game. Remarkable level of skill. Master Class back country adventurer!
That was so superb Jenny. A real journey into what makes you happy. You're navigation is top rate. Mark
Thanks so much Mark!
@@JennyTough_ A real pleasure. You inspire me. Peace!

Ah thanks so much Michael. Your support means everything to me :)
Jenny, I love your videos and what you are doing. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thanks so much Paul, that means a lot to me!
Another amazing film. Particularly loved the views at 4:19. and at 7:08. Great choice of music too. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks Jim, that means a lot to me!
Wow this looks like an amazing route. Thanks for sharing your experience in such a genuine and honest way!

Just discovered the world of fastpacking! Great stuff Jenny. So glad to have found someone who can articulate the why behind trips like this.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. The views are stunning.
Thank you! :)

Loving the personal mission you give yourself, we're only here once & you're giving it your best shot. Well done 👍🏃
Great job Jenny. Superbly shot.
Thanks so much! :)
Tough woman, real lady. Sometimes we need to slow up & enjoy nature. I miss NZ, so beautiful.
Thanks again! I miss it now too :)
Wow Jenny, what cool! Beautiful video and an awesome tour!

Amazing work and what a trip! NZ is probably the most beautiful country i know
It is simply incredible, isn't it?
I'm sorry for laughing at the additional clip. This is so wonderful movie. Thank you for making me relaxed. And I'm waiting for the next footage.
No need to apologise. I'm clumsy :)

Ah hey! I do remember meeting you. Glad the 24-hour birthday hike went well... I think it cleared up if I remember. They do go direct don't they :)

I love the video and your determination! So inspiring.
Incredible!!
Beautiful thx
Great storytelling, nice work!
Do you have your route mapped out somewhere online? I love fast trips into the South Alps, never as long as your epic. Respect! :)
I would love to know the details of where you started/finished and the route! Love South Island NZ!!
First video I have seen of yours.. amazing! Inspired.
Absolutely amazing and for 23 days you looked like you finished in good shape.
Thanks Garry!

You are badass and a true inspiration! Thank you for sharing, looking forward to see where your next trip will take you :-)
Thanks so much Bastiaan! :)

These trips are the best, I also do them here in the Alps. Where was this route? 7:30 looked like Ankogel in Hohe Tauern - Austria.
Beautiful mountain
A great trip Jenny.
Awesome.
thanks! :)

Jenny Tough are you still bike packing as well or have you lived away from that now
Moved away I mean
Inspiring video.👍 Do you have your route written down somewhere? Or map? Thx.
Rising star! Inspiring!
Thanks for great film! Which backpack are you using?
Awesome !
A journey to heal the soul.
Incredible! I’m planning to go to NZ next spring and was curious what area of NZ was this? I’m looking for a shorter 2-3 day hike.
Great! It's a wonderful country. This was the length of the Southern Alps. Plenty of smaller places within the range for a short hike :)
Bravo!
Love it! Hope we can go on an adventure sometime Jenny!
We need to make that happen Dougie :)
@@JennyTough_ Agreed, I've messaged you via FB with an idea!

Amazing . Those extra days worth it i think
Well done! Awesome achievement.
Great!!! Video!
Beautiful
Hi could I ask what camera or mobile did you use in that video? Quality seems great!
NZ is "different" in that there many routes where there's no track, and you need to take great care.
hermoso vídeo Jenny
Gracias :)
Can you do a gear video please.
Were those carbon tracking poles ? I use aluminum sport 2 by black diamond. They are rigid and solid, don’t flex.
Quality content :)
How do you do it alone??
Couple questions, any place where I can find your routes? You did it in february and a lot of snow in the higher parts, so no way do it in november right?

What about food for 20 days??
Wow
You might meet the animals by doing Rip van Winkle out there.
how can you not freeze while sleeping without any additional cover, just in a sleeping bag outside ? :O you're amazing 💝
It wasn't that cold! And that sleeping bag is rated to -12C. Some nights I was too warm! And thanks :)
i admire Your Own Terms, Enthusiasm n World.. : )

@Mister Physics It must suck to be so closed minded when you know nothing for sure. Enjoy hell.
