This makes me wanna cry. So beautiful to see a storyline featuring a middle aged to older couple. Often neglected in shows. My father fell in love again at 60. It is never too late to find that special person.
I still feel sorry for her...and Cynthia Nixon. She is this sad supporting character being only shown to either shore up the others around her or to be the object of men, who think she must be desperate. In other words, the stereotypical spinster of that time. However, we get glimpses of Ada...including here...that her earnest desire is to learn. Agnes often questions Ada's intellect, which is always graciously taken by Ada. But Ada is clearly very well versed (and well read) on many topics, which is why she appreciates Forte's intellect here. She may be self-educated, but she is likely the most well-rounded character in the show. I hope her character arc is fulfilled through this avenue, not just marrying off the lovelorn spinster.
