The person who hasn’t played undertale be like: ??? The kid who likes your best nightmare: I’m not scared of anything after the song I like EDIT: I don't understand what I was saying from 1 year ago. EDIT 2: now it’s 2 years. Still, what am I trying to say? Is this a comment from the zodiac killer? Edit 3: 3 years. I’ve came back and I might have figured it out. What it means is: the person who hasn’t played undertale will listen to this song and be weirded out, but the kid who likes the song is comfortable with it and not scared of anything as a result? It’s stupid but it’s what I could come up with.
No no, it will always be you. You will be with yourself for the rest of your life. You'll change and you'll grow but despite it all, it's still you. Just remember that.
Despite the loss. Despite the hopelessness. Despite failing. Despite the anger. Despite the depression. Despite the loneliness. Despite EVERYTHING... ...It's still you.
*You see a perfect version of you, standing with your father. *You find it unfair. How many times you tried to do something best and all that he said was: "You could've try better, son"? *You break the mirror in anger.
*A small paper sheet lies on the table. Read it? 💚Yes No *You read the paper. *It's written very nicely. *"Welcome to Onett. Welcome to your own personal heaven. Welcome to a place, that's far more better than the real world."
this is something we can all agree with. i wouldnt say the fandom is bad yet, but the game itself, if you ignore the community, its- i love this game so much
"It's you!" "Despite everything, it's still you." Happy 9th Anniversary, UNDERTALE As an UNDERTALE fan, we must make sure this game doesn't die. WHO'S WITH ME!?
Well, we can very easily explore the Earth, we just won't be the first :) In fact, the amount of technology and the high living standards have made the world more accessible than ever! Less than a life-time ago it would be unthinkable to travel the world, so by all means, it's not at all too late to explore! ^^
I personally don’t believe that anyone will see this. But within the past year all three of my cats have died, this song for once had meaning other than being a pretty song. It was something that felt somewhat relatable and reminds me of all three of them, thank you Toby Fox for this masterpiece. Rest in peace Squirrel, Fluffy, and Prince. Stay determined everyone. (Quick edit but thank you all for the support, I’ve been reading every comment and it means the world to get support from people I don’t even know. You guys are great people❤)

"Despite everything, it's still you." Story because I just had this realization... I watched a playthrough of Undertale in 2020 at the peak of the pandemic. I was in a terrible living situation as I was forced away from my home and school and shoved into a new one under my grandparents wing and it sucked. Not to mention it was my Sophomore year, probably my hardest year yet. I found this song to be comforting anytime I had issues and I don't know why. 4 years later, I'm an adult. My family ruined my chances for college, I lost almost all my friends (Went from a vibrant friend group to only having my partner and 1 friend and struggle to find more), survived around 8 attempts (only one of those put me in the hospital for a while), overcame a eating disorder 3 times, money is a struggle to find, therapy didn't work, anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds only do so much, and there's even days where I think I'll be homeless tomorrow. For the past few months, I've been constantly hard on myself. I keep comparing myself to when I moved, even before then. I had struggles then but I would find my way through it like nothing happened, now I barely have the mental strength to get out of bed and it's caused me to almost be late to work many times. I was forcing myself to work on some art to clear my head and this song came on and it just hit me, the meaning of that phrase... "Despite everything, it's still you." Despite my attempts to leave this world, despite the position my family forced me into, despite barely having money for food some days, despite my efforts to get better failing, despite how strong I used to be, despite how mentally weak I am now, despite everyone in my life leaving me or stabbing me in the back, despite all of the pain I endured from living with my toxic family, despite everything I had to witness and go through... I'm still me. I'm the same skeleton, same veins, same toes and fingers, same eyes, nose, mouth, and ears, nothing changed. I am still standing, I am still enduring, I am still breathing, I am still going on 111 days clean from SH, I am still me, despite everything life does to try and shove me down. Despite everything, that 15 year old girl watching an Undertale playthrough even though my family would kill me if they saw me on my phone that late at night, is still the me who listens to this song to find comfort when life gets too hard. Thank you Toby Fox. Your stories and music bring so much happiness to others.
Today's Undertale's 6th Anniversary, and it's been a long journey for us all. I still cannot believe that it's been SIX YEARS, since this masterpiece came out! Thank you, Toby Fox c:
@sadekfor1 Yeah it’s the players choice but!!! I respect your opinion you can have frisk non-binary since I’m a girl frisk is a girl *for me* everyone has opinions keep it peaceful :3
i remember being a depressed 17 year old teenager who just shut himself in his room and kept to himself. i played this game because a friend had been talking so much about it and i remember playing through the game for hours straight. i don’t think a game has ever had such a huge impact on me emotionally as undertale. i’m now 23 and hearing these songs just brings back those emotions i once felt. this game is too good for words.
Hey man, im glad that this game positively impacted you. I hope your doing well, and if not, keep pushing. Hang in there man and live that happy life, you got this bro
@@thepiudipai8899 undertale is better than deltarune. I really like undertale but toby shoud make undertale 2 (deltarune is not undertale 2 so don't even say somthing like it) also i'm late too

So this song reminds me of my childhood a lot. I had a best friend, my first REAL best friend, I know it sounds crazy. But he was a cat.. I know. Seems more like my pet, then my friend. How can something as silly, as a Cat and a Human be best friends? if they can’t understand each other? Well strangely, we did in a way. None of his relative kittens wanted to be with him, and neither one wanted him around. And lowkey, I felt the same. I was alone, and so was he. In a way, that we felt there was no hope. No one right for us. So i came along. And took him home. He was scared, but I was too. After then, I gave him his name. After then, he never left my side. I gave him a home, and a best friend. We got along, he grew warmer to me each and everyday, I’d swear to never let him go. Every sunny day, I’d come home and hed be just there waiting for my return. He seemed so as the only one who knew how I truly felt, having gone through it himself.. even if he was just a cat. Even if he didn’t see me as my best friend, I saw him that way. Silly enough, we were two races, of the same abandonment. Until one day…. He got sick. Very sick, very quick. And something fell on me. A feeling of dread, Sudden… change of plans in Fates course. I’m not sure, but I knew I had to save my best friend, from anything no matter what as he did the same for me. However, no one heard my call. No matter if I screamed, or cried, it wouldn’t have heard til later. So…. One day, finally, we got him help, I thought I could save my friend. When I found him hiding away from me, and looked into his eyes, I knew that’d be the last time. But I still wasn’t able to give up on him as he didn’t give up on me. So when we finally pushed through, he was stuck at the place of help.. He received some care, but it would be awhile before he could come home. Nighttime rolled around, and eventually the morning sun came to greet us. A sweet, aroma filled the sky, as the clouds shone against the suns, bright, beaming light. But something was wrong despite dawns arrival. The world… felt empty, not as full, or as happy as it once seemed. It seemed like… everything took a turn for the worse. I eventually woke, up to the worst possible call of my life. My best friend had died that night. Just as alone, as I had found him that happy day.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost two of the cats that I had grown up with just a few years ago, and the pain is so immense that it cannot be placed into words. One of them, Gingerbread or as I called him, Gingy, had to be euthanised due to suffering kidney failure. I got to hug him one final time, before my Mom left the house with him, and she returned without him. The other cat, Pollyanna, or Polly as everyone called her, was really old, and arthritic in the back legs. To stop the dogs from eating her food, Mom had her eat on top of the counter. One day, Polly was impatient, and after eating, jumped off the counter herself. She was with us for so many years and that jump broke her leg. It would be too expensive or her to get treatment, so we had to have her put down too. The worst thing is, the smaller of our two dogs really loved Polly, and Mom had to bring Polly back home one final time just so the little one could say goodbye, and realise that she was gone. I still remember her lifeless body, lying in the carrier as our little dog was shown that she was gone. We had them both cremated, and now they both remain on our mantle forever. I want to thank you, for being brave enough to share your own story, and giving me the bravery to share my own. Thank you for making me remember, and making me cry over my own losses. I know this is a lot of text, but people shouldn’t have to keep these stories to themselves. Keep the memory of you loved ones close to yourself, it’s the only way you will remember all the good times with them, and remember that somewhere, someone really does care for you. Keep yourself safe, friend. I’m sure that your best friend loved you to the end, too.

"Before the song 'UNDERTALE' was completed, it went through a completely different iteration. That version sounded a bit more sad, which I think would have been less effective." -*Toby Fox regarding an unused version of this track, released on the anniversary of the game* Therein lies what I think makes this track so special. Many fans praise Undertale for being the saddest track in the game, and I'm not one to disagree. Hell, I've never once been able to listen to the whole track without shedding at least a single tear. And it accompanies one of the most emotionally climactic scenes in the entire game; when every monster you've befriended throughout your journey relays to you a tale. A tale of heartbreak, a tale of sorrow, of death and loss, of a family torn asunder and the hope of an entire civilization extinguished. Why, then, would Toby Fox decide that making the track sadder would lessen its effectiveness? Because Undertale isn't *about* sadness. It's about hope. Love. Kindness. Compassion. Mercy. And above all, holding onto these precious things in the face of pain and sadness. That's what this track conveys perfectly, I believe. The tale of the fallen child is undoubtedly a tragedy, the monsters going at length to describe the devastation it wrought on both the Dreemurr family and monsterkind as a whole. The future of humans and monsters had died, and the prince of their world's future along with them. The monsters tell you that at that moment, the underground had lost all hope. But at that very instant when the narration appears on screen (5:20), the music swells, shifting to a new key; an outburst of hope, joy, unconfined love and compassion. There *is* hope in the underground, and there's hope everywhere. You just have to keep holding on. That's what this track conveys to me. Yes, this song makes me cry. Not out of sadness, it's not a song about sadness. It makes me cry out of joy. The type of tears that roll down your face and past the edge of your trembling, hopeful smile. Because you should be smiling, too. Aren't you excited? Aren't you happy? You're going to be free.
Elisabeth Hutchinson Yes, it does suck, but monsterkind is able to stay strong and fight for their freedom nonetheless. It speaks volumes to their determination and hope.

People on the internet have just put undertale as this massively aggressive fighting game against sans. It isn’t, it’s a truly beautiful game with a truly beautiful story.
One thing that really gets me is that this is the final area of the game. This is the king's castle, the last leg of your journey. In any other RPG this place would be filled with the toughest of enemies, probably contain some of the most mind-bending of puzzles, all to build anticipation for that final fight. But in Undertale? This song plays, as you wander through the house of a nice old man who treats his subjects like family. It really shows just how unique the game is in so many aspects, this being one of them.
+Recursive Sweatpants Yeah that was one of the most striking things to me. The whole game a lot of characters build up Asgore to be this badass who will destroy Frisk with no mercy... Then you just find out he's Goatdad :3
This one line is the thing that by far got me the most emotional from my entire experience playing the game and yet I never hear anyone else mention. Props to you. Such an underrated touch.
That Weird Kid In The Corner Alice, we are both logged into that account, so I can see EVERYTHING you comment :) no wonder you hide your screen everytime I come around :)))
Asriel: H A H A H A, D I D Y O U R EA L L Y T H I N K I T W A S O V E R? me: I swear, I will- Asriel: I mean, you didn't get to see the special thanks yet!
"Despite everything, it's still you." No line in a video game or any piece of media has ever stuck with me as much as that single sentence has. Perseverance in the face of adversity...holding on when you think you have nothing left...and never changing who you are in a cold and uncaring world. Thank you Toby.
@@rockromb256 It's a manga by one of the greatest mangakas of all time, beware though - a lot of themes in it hit very hard. But it's absolutely beautiful
*Despite everything... *Despite the hardships, and the pain, and the betrayal... *Despite the hatred, and the turmoil, and the chaos... *Despite the longing for something, ANYTHING to get you out of this mess... *It's still you.
“It’s Not long now.” “King Asgore will let us go.” “Give us hope.” “Save us all.” “You should be smiling, too.” “Aren’t you excited?” “Aren’t you happy?” “You’re going to be free.”
That was honestly one of the heaviest moments in the game for me personally. The absolute and sudden feeling of dread it created was beyond anything I have felt in most media.
@Nightsh4de 13 I discovered this song from this video. ua-cam.com/video/793NcKBtX24/v-deo.html I knew about undertale before though if you were wondering.
Recently, I've had to go through a series of highly stressful doctor's appointments to make sure I don't have cancer, and on the first of these days, I was feeling stressed as all heck and very scared. My boyfriend called me on Skype and sat talking with me for hours, helping me take my mind off everything. He was playing through this game at the time and had told me a bit about it, and that night he asked me if I wanted to watch him play through it. So he shared his screen, and with his fun narrations of the character's voices and explanation of the lore and progress he'd made so far, I was sucked into the journey of our main character through this underground land, and completely forgot about my own troubles. Over the next few stressful days, every day he'd call me up when I was feeling stressed and we'd play Undertale together for a bit, and each day we grew more and more fond of this quirky, funny, and heartmeltingly touching little world, so expertly and lovingly designed. And now as I wait for the results of my final test, I find myself listening to this song again with a sense of peace, because even these stressful days have been so associated with the love and fun of those playthroughs with my sweet boy, of butterscotch pies, noble angry fish ladies and cute skeleton companions. No matter what happens, I will stay determined.
Eight years. Eight years of Patience Kindness Justice Perseverance Integrity Bravery And Determination Eight years of Fur Scales Metal Magic Bones Petals And more Eight years Since the world was changed Thank you Undertale. Thank you Toby. Thank you, for being apart of this.
@@daisukisoraniid5482 the resurgence in it's popularity thanks to Deltarune was a godsend. Otherwise, it would've joined the ranks of other fallen classics
Actually that elevator was also not really funny. You go in there after Alphys tells you that Frisk has to either kill Asgore and take his soul or die…
"Despite everything, it's still you." At first glance, this phrase is nothing special... but to me, it means everything. About 3 years ago, my young self found myself very into the game. It's battles, music, world, characters - everything! It made me want to interact with the fans a lot, and it was one of the first fandom experiences to me.... And now, 3 years later, a LOT has happened. A war has started in my country and it's still going, I finished middle school, lost and got some friends, smiled a cried so much... and despite everything, I still remained myself. No matter any fandom I got into, any friend I got and lost, any day I cried, anything... at heart, I'm still naive, crybaby girl. Happy late 9th birthday Undertale, the game that shaped me in the last 3 years.
* *Despite the heartbreak, sadness, depression, hate, destruction, violence, and death,* * *You didn't walk down the violent road..you kept moving forward.* * *You're still you.* * *Don't give up.*
I remember when everyone was obsessed with Undertale. Everywhere I went people talked about it all the time. At the time I wasn't interested in the game and I barely knew anything about it. Here I am, 4 years later, being absolutely obsessed with Undertale. I've been talking about it to my friends so much that they're annoyed with me. I've cried late at night so many times after playing Undertale and listening to the music because it's so sad and amazing all at the same time. I've let it take over my life in only a week. Every time I'm sad I start drawing Undertale characters. And it makes me feel better. Even if Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, Dr. Alphys, Toriel, and all of the other amazing characters are fictional, I love them to pieces. They've helped me so much. I can't begin to describe how much joy this game has brought into my life. Undertale is by far one of the best games in history. The music, the characters, everything is so amazing. I just finished playing Pacifist mode and I was sobbing. I'm about to play through a Genocide run and I'm sure I'll be crying the entire time because I just love the characters so MUCH. Thank you Toby Fox, for making my life so much better. Edit: I seriously couldn't bring myself to do a Genocide route. I just can't hurt anyone. They mean too much to me to hurt the characters. Edit 2: This really isn't all that related (sorta is since it has Undertale involved lol), but something recently happened that I wanted to share. A few days ago I had to go to the hospital (it wasn't Covid-19, don't worry. I was only there for a few hours.) because I fainted on my bathroom floor. I remember I wasn't thinking straight yet on the way to the hospital I basically explained the entire plot of Undertale to my dad and on the way back I played a few of my favorite tracks from the game. I just thought it was interesting how even though I could barely think at all, I still managed to think about Undertale. I guess it's really been significant for me. I mean, I first bought the game at the end of March and it's already mid-May, and I'm still as obsessed with it. This was kind of random so sorry bout that lol.
Apparently, you probably wouldn't want to do a genocide route anyways. I've heard that it badly, permanently, and fundamentally changes any endings afterwards, and saves it to the steam cloud as well.
At the beginning of the game you can look in a mirror and see yourself. Near the end of the game you can do this again but with a slightly altered message.
Marsha Oakley I never said the determination itself decays. I just said that his body would have too much determination to survive, like the first genocide boss.
No matter how the Undertale/Deltarune Fandom goes bad, I remember this song, this soundtrack, the story. This, is the reason why I will never forget Undertale.
Tbh, I think the fandom is better now lol, especially the nice side of it with the realistic aus and nice animations (not the ones turning sans into a demon for no reason which doesn’t fit his personality at all like dustale and stuff)
Am I the only one who actually hasn't seen the bad side? I mean, I'm just on UA-cam, and never go on Twitter, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Everyone should appreciate Asriel more, he's not getting much appreciation and care than most characters like sans, he's quite underrated in my opinion
it's almost a week post-deltarune, and listening to this track in retrospect reminds me that undertale never lowered in quality as a game. toby's been working on deltarune for almost six years, creating it alongside undertale. this will, most likely, be the final breath of the series, in the next few years when it's released. when it's all said and done, i won't hesitate to come back to this video and give my thanks to toby once again. it's been three years a week after deltarune and i don't think any of us could be happier. thanks, toby.
@Soibam BS i guess i see what you mean. personally i've kept all the memes n shit from ruining my enjoyment of megalovania, it's still a great track after all these years. but it is pretty annoying to have kids that hardly know a thing or two about the game think it's the main theme just because of memes edit: i also dunno why people liked your comment responding to this one but not mine
Most people came from Megalovania due to the memes, with out these memes some of the fan base (Maybe) not be here. Half of the people on Reddit played Undertale cause of the memes

Chara is that first human. And her soul wanted to kill the humans. But asriel refused to do so. So whenever you see that flower, hug it. Don't kill it.
My favourite thing to do is watch streamers reach this stage and cry while doing a blind playthrough Because its the best way i can reignite my spark of pure compassion
This moment probably hit me the hardest a game ever has. Finding out about the tragic backstory of the Dreemurrs and who Toriel really was, why she cared so much for you... what a shitty life little Asriel had... and how tragic of a character Asgore was... along with the realization that the story these monsters were telling me was the Under-tale" the title was referring to all this time. I just started crying like a baby. I've played quite a few emotional games in my life, but not a single one managed to make me tear up as often and as hard as Undertale. I felt just about every single emotion one can feel while playing this game. It may have a bad reputation due to its fandom, but the game itself is an absolute masterpiece through and through and nobody will ever be able to change my mind about that.
I can understand it. English is not my first language and I probably missed something and I grew long time ago. But at this part of game I had mental breakdown irl. I cried so hard so I couldn't breathe. Probably it hits harder when you saw some shit irl
I always thought it was the embodiment of the game, even before I knew what part of the game it was from. Now...I understand. But I can't explain. The Undertale. Chara's story. *You should be smiling too.*
thats basically how it is used ingame tbh, looiking at toriels old house, talking to all the old random monster encounters, getting ready for the final boss asgore
Guys, please quit it. 1. You are focusing on the "fangirl" fandom of Undertale. 2. The game is *NOT* dead. It is still talked and played about to this day. If it was truly dead then we would've never spoke of this game again. On behalf of the fandom says that. 3. Other games like Minecraft, ROBLOX, etc. Is also not dead. How would the second most selling game be dead? Last time I checked over 10k people were playing Hypixel. 4. Chill out. Please. Just listen to some cool Undertale soundtracks. Consider "Don't Give Up"? 5. If you are saying "The fandom is pretty bad" then you are calling the *ENTIRETY* of the fanbase, especially even you as an Undertale fan, a bad game. Just because we have fangirls in the community and we probably have only a thousand which is an extremely little amount considering how much UT fans we have and probably 70% of them are jokes and not for real. 6. Just. Stop cursing all of us like that. Thanks.
@@justadog8011 I have no problem with the Undertale community. I love how creative everyone is and so many of the videos, art, fanfics ect are so amazing and I love them to pieces. I just meant that there are some works and stuff out there that are less than favorable. But there are also some true fans and lovers of the music here in this comment section. People who are telling great stories about what this community has done for them, and how they feel. I loooooove "Don't Give Up" :) Its one of my absolute favorites. I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers, so I'll refrain from making comments like this is the future. Thanks :)
"Despite everything, it's still you" that hit me like a hurricane. After everything that's happened, all the fighting, all the pain, all the confusion and fear, the love, the joy, the happiness and adventure, we never compromised, we never faltered, we never changed. We're still human. We're still alive. We're still who we've always been.
@Kold well something that may be interesting is that when i first discovered genocide i did that first, obviously i did genocide on different accounts and the same for pacifist, now i was dumb as shit when i played blindly, i didn't know what to do so i just killed everything i met rather than going around and finding everything to kill, i got through the ruins and snowden but i thought you didn't have to do hotlands, and thats how i discovered this amazing song, i knew i was a monster, but never knew i could become what i truly was again so quickly Becoming A human, i almost cried (the last time i cried to a video game was last year, before last year ive never cried to one, the ending was really sad for it:[ ) to this, reading the story, hearing the music, everything, and then i said: yeah okay that was sad and all but i forgot to kill a lot of monsters, welp! Back to slaughtering!
I first played this game as a kid. At the time, I didn't know I had depression. I certainly experienced it, but I didn't quite understand what it was, or what it meant. This song helped me get through those episodes. Now it's 2024. Even under an effectively anonymous account, I don't want to publish details, but the short version is this: I'm going through a very emotional time in my life, and in a very vulnerable state. I have been taking blow after blow, and every day I blame myself more and more. I can't even tell what's justified any more. All I can think about is how awful of a person I am. I came back to this song for comfort. It's fitting that this song uses the "memory" leitmotif, because that's what came flooding back. So. Now I'm going to play the game again. It's been like six years, but at one point I considered myself an expert on all the minute details of this game. I'm going to take my time, exploring every nook and cranny, and voicing all the characters. Once I reached the end, I'll come back to this comment, and tell you all how I'm doing. I'll see you all soon, I hope
I know it’s not as flashy as Megalovania, as epic as Finale, or as powerful as Hopes and Dreams, but this is my favorite song in the OST. It encapsulates the feeling of the game SO well. I was lucky enough to play this game almost completely blind, even after it’d been out for like 3 years. Hearing this song play while the monsters tell you the story of Asriel and the fallen child, feels like I didn’t take a breath until it was over.
You were lucky. I got spoiled. It felt like it was just a game. That's the part that made me cry. Not the game itself but the fact that although I played the game, I could NEVER experience it. You got lucky.
To me, this song is the one true meaning of mourning. Why do we cry when we hear this song? Why is the impact of it so great? It took me a while to figure it out. But then I remembered the line that made me burst into tears every time I played. Froggit's line. "You're Going To Be Free." I realized that, through grievance and mourning, we say our last piece to those who perish. This frees their soul and spirit so they can finally pass on to the afterlife. So they can rest at ease, knowing that those who loved them still do, and never will stop. Never feel shame in grieving and crying for those you love. Froggit: You're going to be free.
It isn’t *simple* though. Toby would never settle for that. He makes things that seem simple on the surface but are much more deeper down, or if you go the extra mile and truly complete it. Although, I will agree he turned an RPG into the single most emotional rollercoaster there is.
Julajam oh, then I don’t need to come back. Already happened asshole. Come back when you have a sense of self and can judge when you shouldn’t say something.
This is, far and away, one of the best stories I've ever seen from any video game. The fact that one man with some minor help can make one of it's decade's greatest... The art, the stories, the humor, the characters, the music, the animations, the love... the memories... Thank you, Toby. And thank you, Team UNDERTALE. You can't begin to imagine the amount of SOULs touched by this game since that fateful day on September 15, 2015.
Dear Toby, wherever you are.. I recently discovered this game. Even though I’m 5 years late to the party, I want to say thank you. Thank you for making me laugh, cry, and everything inbetween. I hope that UNDERTALE’s legacy will never be forgotten, because it gave everyone happy feelings, and fuzzy memories to always keep holding on to. Currently on Asgore’s boss fight (neutral), and waiting to finish so I can do a RESET, and attempt to get the pacifist ending. The bosses in this game were unique. They were fun. I would give anything to play through every single one of them, over and over.. But that would mess with the characters’ feelings, wouldn’t it? Heh.. I don’t have the guts to do that. Thank you forever, Thinken Edit: I want to say 2 things. Number one, thank you for all your kind replies. I knew there was still a good spot in the UT community. And the second thing. As of 8:06 P.M., EST, Sunday March 7, 2021, I have beaten the UNDERTALE neutral run. I will let you know when I am finished with true pacifist. Big virtual hugs to you all! Edit 2: OK ENOUGH LOVE STUFF I GOT THE WRONG NUMBER SONG IN SNOWDIN AND CANNOT BE MORE HAPPIER AAAAAAAAA Edit 3: ok i forgot to post it but i beat asriel a few months ago!!
Don't worry, buddy. I started playing it last week, completed both neutral and true pacifist ending in less than 3 days, and I wanna go back, but... I don't want to destroy their future by resetting

Story because I just had this realization...
"Despite everything, it's still you."
Despite my attempts to leave this world, despite the position my family forced me into, despite barely having money for food some days, despite my efforts to get better failing, despite how strong I used to be, despite how mentally weak I am now, despite everyone in my life leaving me or stabbing me in the back, despite all of the pain I endured from living with my toxic family, despite everything I had to witness and go through...
Your stories and music bring so much happiness to others.
sorry to hear that.

That cat still loves you, wherever they are, please remember that
This just made me gain more motivation to learn this song in guitar

"Before the song 'UNDERTALE' was completed, it went through a completely different iteration. That version sounded a bit more sad, which I think would have been less effective." -*Toby Fox regarding an unused version of this track, released on the anniversary of the game*
Therein lies what I think makes this track so special.
You're going to be free.
im in love with this comment. you are totally right on every word you said. bless you, you made my day :)
I thought 5:20 was the saddest part tbh
I do too, but for the reason I outlined above.
Elisabeth Hutchinson Yes, it does suck, but monsterkind is able to stay strong and fight for their freedom nonetheless. It speaks volumes to their determination and hope.

Crazy how it's 2025. This game is turning 10 years old this year. I remember when it was just 2-3 years old. Time flies
+Recursive Sweatpants The final part brings you down not with powerful enemies or puzzles.. but with sheer emotions.
+TGE So freaking true..
+TGE The most powerful of emotions though.

To me, this song is the one true meaning of mourning. Why do we cry when we hear this song? Why is the impact of it so great? It took me a while to figure it out. But then I remembered the line that made me burst into tears every time I played. Froggit's line.
"You're Going To Be Free."
I realized that, through grievance and mourning, we say our last piece to those who perish. This frees their soul and spirit so they can finally pass on to the afterlife. So they can rest at ease, knowing that those who loved them still do, and never will stop.
Never feel shame in grieving and crying for those you love. When they perish, they can never rest easy until you mourn.
May all those who have lost a loved one today or recently be able to mourn for your loss. I wish the best for you all! 😇

Frightened_Eyes good job remembering those 😃
also it is more great when you are reading the story while the music is playing
Thank you all for the likes!
I had to play through the whole new home thing and i took me forever to memorize it
;-; the FEELS!!
No game has ever made me laugh like undertale, and no game has ever made me cry like undertale.
Toby can turn a simple RPG game into the most emotional rollercoaster there is in life
It isn’t *simple* though. Toby would never settle for that. He makes things that seem simple on the surface but are much more deeper down, or if you go the extra mile and truly complete it. Although, I will agree he turned an RPG into the single most emotional rollercoaster there is.
excuse me but mother 3
la triforce du yaourt mother three has nothing on undertale.
Julajam oh, then I don’t need to come back. Already happened asshole. Come back when you have a sense of self and can judge when you shouldn’t say something.

My Friend: Is Undertale a hard game to play?

@@4K3-n4h It's a common quote.
Please make a reneuished quote, this one isnt touching anymore.
This game is truly a masterpiece.
Emotion
Comedy
and action all in one
I'd say the best way to sum up Undertale is an allegory for dream.
Thank you forever,
Thinken
Edit: I want to say 2 things.
Edit 2: OK ENOUGH LOVE STUFF I GOT THE WRONG NUMBER SONG IN SNOWDIN AND CANNOT BE MORE HAPPIER AAAAAAAAA
Edit 3: ok i forgot to post it but i beat asriel a few months ago!!
You are never late. Glad you were here.
there is still deltarune
Im very glad you were able to play the game at some point. You should also try deltarune
Don't worry, buddy. I started playing it last week, completed both neutral and true pacifist ending in less than 3 days, and I wanna go back, but... I don't want to destroy their future by resetting
@@Saunakiuas06 Welp...
Time to discover the beautiful thing that are AUs !!!
I walked in to the house and just started breaking down. I cried for around 10 minutes, no joke.
Me: "This is....oh....oh.... Oh no.........."
*the tears well up steadily.*
Genko Forrest Pretty Much
Jenna Menna Rightly so. I don't blame ya.
+Bouncy65 I think I first started tearing up when the monsters told me Asriel's tale.
I did the same.
