Wow Paul, that E44 is beautifully restored and running perfectly. Congratulations! The Jouef inox coaches look great too, I hope you can motorize the head coach.By the way, you have expanded the sky of your backdrops. That is a good idea, it makes it easier to film without seeing the wall above the backdrop. Have a nice Sunday evening! Erik
Hi Erik, I painted the end walls in the exact blue the skies were on the backdrops before I glued them on when I made the layout 12 years ago. Its possible I havent raised the camera up so high before. I am happy how the E44 turned out and how well it runs. The 2 Inox coaches also run well cobnsidering the wheels and their length. I have decided not to spend any money or time motorizing the Head coach as I donr run electric locos on my layout. The E44 will go on the shelf with my other odd locos. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Excellent work, as usual, Paul. I like especially what you have done with E-44, but as I already like very much this locomotive, I know I am subjective. The other improvements are also very good, as it is to be expected from your skill level. Have a great week, cheers! Chris
Hi Chris, Thanks for the kind comments. I was surprised how well the E44 runs, I thought it would be noisy but not so. I was lucky to have the E111 body as a donor for the pantographs. I also like this Loco so it will get run from time to time. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Michael, It took a while to find the problem with my 33, it was a simple fix in the end. I am happy how my projects turned out, they run quite well. Have a great week. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, problem solving is a necessary skill in this hobby. Nice job on the electric loco. She's a very nice runner mate. I've got a few similar looking locos which I will give a run to show you. The Inox carriages are worth a pretty penny these days, so they may provide funds for other projects. I have decided that I can only buy new locos etc after selling something I don't use or need. I've run out of room to store my stuff. Steven.
Hi Steven, It took a while to find the stalling problem on the Class 33, a simple fix in the end. I am happy how the E44 turned out, it runs very well and looks ok. I will probably sell the Inox set then someone can enjoy them if they install a new chassis in the drive loco. I have to find some more projects to keep my old brain working so looking for a few to buy. It will be good to see your Electric Locos running there are a number of these E44s and similar that are interesting designs. I know what you mean about space, am having another look at storing my stock. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Well converting it to a RIO (kind of the unmotorized version of these) was a feasible option from the start. Do you happen to have anything French to pull these?
Hi, Repairing 2 of the Jouef Coaches was a project more than a total restoration. The aim was to get 2 coaches rolling and possibly finding a donor chassis for the lead coach. I really dont want to spend any money or time on these as I dont run Electric trains on my layout. I need to keep my old brain working so these projects help me stay busy. Thanks for commenting and for your suggestion its most appreciated. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
