🩺ABOUT DR. BREWER
Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on to run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has close to 1,000 primary care/prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, and stroke prevention clinic.
At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, and cognitive decline. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those who have not developed a diagnosis or event. Dr. Brewer provides services via telemedicine. We find a lot of undiagnosed prediabetes or insulin resistance. Treating unrecognized risk factors like prediabetes allows reduction of risk and prevention of disease.

Took 500mg and my face is on fire. Feel like I’m bathing in horse radish
Love your work; we take 250-500 twice daily
I bought Rugby after watching this then got told Time Release is worst for liver damage so stopped taking it about Solgar instead. A bit confused now
Many natural sources are good enough to complete vitamin B3 it can have serious side effects on long term uses .Avoid synthetic vitamins .Stay safe guys.
I take 50mg a day, but stopped when that study came out saying niacin could contribute to heart issues. Should I take it back up?
Question sounds familiar :-) Best Wishes to you!
I was considering taking 500mg a day. I'd like to use it to help a little with lipids and increasing HDL, but I've been working for several months to reverse diabetes and fatty liver etc with keto (went from a1c 13.8 to 6.4) and it's really hard to find quality information on whether or not 500mg a day would harm my progress.
The Tolerable Upper Intake for niacin is only 35 mg. 250 to 2000 mg is 7 to 57 times the Tolerable Upper Intake. How did these megadoses of niacin become so normalized?
250 mg every other day is more than enuf for me 👍✌️
For me 100 mg twice daily seem to do the trick. I get quite a flush that last for almost an hour. Not sure Id want to take more 🙃
How did this guy come to a conclusion that 3000 mg was the right dose? It lowers blood pressure. If you have low blood pressure to start with, that can be a problem.
I thought you had to have the kind that causes a flush
I heard that taking niacin may increase homocysteine. Is that true?
It seems like such a high dose. I usually take 250mg if not once a day then every second day. I still get a flush but it isn't too bad. What would be the benefits of taking it everyday, multiple times a day?
Should the 2000 mg betaken once a day or divided throughout the day?
I take 500mg before exercise to prevent itchiness
