That was a challenge, the terrain really does look like it could be from around Kilpisjärvi or Enontekiö, and one of the signs looks like our town sign from that far away. But! We don't have spruce trees that far North. Maybe from around Pallas-Ylläs or Luosto, but the spruce trees still don't look quite right. Same with the utility poles, ours would be in the shape of a flat T or just I. Also, the road looks like it's been done recently, so the power lines would probably be underground.
It's very easy to tell the difference. StreetView has been available in North America a lot longer than in Finland, so there is a marked image quality difference. Many of the Canadian photos look fuzzy and washed out compared to Finnish StreetView imagery, and this is before you look at obvious tell tales like road markings etc. Telling the exact location otoh is a lot harder, especially in Canada compared to Finland due to difference in area. You had some very insightful guesses there! I would have chosen Lapland for the last one as well.
It is a tie-break, always! Canada has more lakes than Finland per sqkm (shut up, Sweden). Forests and loggers, well equal? Canada, as the very first and foremost homeland of ice hockey, Finland bows, I still remember the the sweet sweat aroma from my brother's CCM pads (shut up Sweden). Bilingual, yes. In Canada the fight between English and French continues, in Finland the Finnish and Finland swedish fight (shut up, Sweden)....😊
Finland doesn't have any criss-cross electrical wires hanging from posts anywhere I've seen. I'm not sure if it's a law or something, but it's always a culture shock when you see them.
Last one did look a lot like Finland but I don't think we have transformers in electric poles in Finland. I think I've seen those last time when I was a child over 30 years ago and they were never cylindrical... Even power lines are kind of rare now.
I dont think you find many gravel roads that excessively wide in Finland. If the road has enough traffic to demand that width, it will be asphalted for sure
Since you asked, I have never played this game. But whenever you play these "Which county is it" scenarios, I try to make my own guesses. I felt like these two games were extremely easy. Like someone already mentioned, those round transformers simply don't exist in Finland, so the last round was obvious, knowing that. In Finland, you might see a bit bigger transformer up there, maybe in old street view footage, but it would be between double poles. Those at least used to be exceedingly numerous, although of late they have been replaced by small container looking things sitting on the ground, sometimes decorated with murals. Funnily enough you might still see the double poles standing there, just without the transformer, but carrying the wires. Your videos are enticing me to try the game, though. Maybe I'll try it when I'm travelling because my laptop doesn't have a dedicated GPU, making "real" games impossible to run.
Got 10/10 for the countries (none of the rounds really had me wondering which country it was), but my region guessing wasn't great. First game went a bit better, about 17k score, but the second was all over the place. Especially my Canadian guesses there were really bad, only 8.8k total score. The last round didn't really look like Finland at all to me. With that kind of treeless hills there's very limited amount of places it could've been in Finland, but the road and especially the soil didn't really match those places at all.
Thanks for watching!

14:00 "Near water somewhere in Finland" so basically anywhere in Finland XD
15:49 'nain' is a Finnish word. :)
and the meaning is even better
The last round really looked like Finland but perhaps the wide road would have been unlikely in such a terrain here.

we dont have those kinds of transformer boxes in finland. was clearly NA

Agreed, that mess of electrical wiring gives me anxiety just looking at it after only seeing the neat lines in Finland

we have them on poles as I live in the countryside but they're never cylindrical

Birch trees where a dead give away for me to figure out it was finland, lots of birches there
Damn, i had a bad cycling accident at 10:20
As a Finn these were very easy. It is curious how one just knows, it is just the little things. Only two pics i wasnt 100% sure but i got them right.
2:36 it is that flat in some parts of Finland, mostly in the west coast. But "Schneider" on the sign isn't a common name in Finland.
In coastal regions yes but rest of the country especially the mid and northern parts are filled with hills and mountains
@@lisaanimi my point was, that Finland is big enough to have different landscapes in different parts of the country.
Its flat but those kinds of large open spaces are rare in Finland. Nearest forest is always closer.

On the last one the transformer was a dead giveaway for me that its Canada. Never seen a cylindrical one in Finland.
And the power lines are too high up for the location and the size of the pole

Countries were quite easy (10/10), but it's really hard to locate areas, especially on Canada.Got bit over 20k total, so not great.
Pretty easy to get 10/10 countries, but hard to get a good score :)
