Really enjoyed this, Cole. Your content is always so accessible and honest. PS I can recommend an Aldi Melt in the Middle Cod and Pea fishcake, if you haven't tried it!
Good video Cole. Yeah weight and running do matter to a point but it can be a VERY slippery slope. I could afford to lose some weight and I did get faster last time I dropped some weight. You get into trouble when you start getting into that malnourished zone. I see a lot of that happening for younger runners. I managed to ditch the fizzy drinks. I found that the bubbles increase your appetite and was a culprit to some weight gain. I do like it after a long run or periodically I like a bubbly water but I've learned to avoid it. I like your diet choices, I know I could improve my diet and always good to see people practicing smart choices. Cheers buddy!
Ah thanks for the insight mate. Yeah it’s super tricky! I’m not an elite runner so don’t need to eat one like one! But still like to eat clean where I can 😁
I monitor calories but that's only to ensure I'm eating enough. I had a period of feeling energyless and tired often so I try to make sure I'm consuming enough to fuel running. I'm no where near your level but I guess diet is personal to everyone
It’s super personal for sure. I think it’s definitely best to consult a professional if you’re worried about your diet. Bad fueling is better than no fueling! 😄
I do track loosely, just to ensure I am not over eating.. just to stay lean and at maintenance but I do run a lot, Cole you’re young and you run a lot, you don’t need to track and your diet is pretty clean anyway. 😉
Thanks Anne! In the past when I haven’t kept a loose tracking like yourself, I always found I went overboard a lot. As I said I’ve struggled a lot so ‘just do this’ etc isn’t helpful from a lot of people but I really appreciate your view point 😁
@@ColeRunning Exactly. Everyone is different and if you’ve struggled I understand it can be difficult. As long as you’re fueled, not hungry all the time and you have enough energy then that is right for you 👍
The Fuel for the Sole podcast has helped me a lot. I used to eat similarly to you - all about cutting the calories wherever I could and trying to fill up on fiber - but it did me no favors. 🥴 You’re asking a lot of your body and you might see those paces going down again if you give it all it needs. Just a thought.
No mean to offend mate it’s just 10kg in 6 weeks is a hell of lot for someone who wasn’t even overweight to start with. Personally I’d be concerned if the weight loss continued at that rate, especially as heightening the injury risk if anything.
3:00 A stone and a half? That seems a huge amount to drop in a couple of months for a guy of your size. Isn't that almost 10 kg? If you're happy healthy etc then all good! C'mon Coleee! BTW I'd like to think my diet is similar, but I probably sneak a few more treats 😂
Yes sir was 11st 4lbs and now just coming in just under 10. Haven’t been actively weighing myself, just trying to eat a bit more balanced and reduce the binging 😃

Oooooo I might have to give those a try!!
Amazing video as usual Cole , your videos always make my day , thanks very much 😊
Happy to hear that! Take care mate!

Looked for those liquid eggs in our Tesco. Not there. Must be a Kent delicacy. We did source some carrots and spuds though to dine a la Cole tomorrow.
They do stock them! They’re in one of the fridge aisles near the ready made roll pastry/butters I believe!

Very much appreciated video. Thank you.

Well this has reminded me about fish cakes 😂 I also spy Maidstone probation office on your run route!
Haha yep I live in Maidstone for uni 😁 fish cakes are the best!!

Oh and remember, don’t ever feel guilty about whatever you want to eat. You only live once, enjoy it!

Thanks mate I’ll give it a listen! 😃
how important is pace during a long run?
Depends on the aim of the long run
What’s your current weight/height? Fair play for cleaning up the diet but maybe now is the right time to increase quantity of clean food.
I’m 5’11 🫠 and 10stone :)
@@ColeRunning how quick was the 10kg weight loss? Anymore than 1kg per week average would be worryingly under eating in calorific energy requirements.
@AJB_runs appreciate your concern buddy but I’m fueling more than enough thanks mate!
@@ColeRunninghe’s not wrong Cole , be careful cutting that much you’ll crush your testosterone levels which can lead to a whole world of problems.
