Only thing is, you can't use crossover from a standard head unit, equalizer and other such settings. Also curious to as how much pre- out voltage those things put out, that will make a difference on setting gain, how much the amplifier will get worked from heat.
I get the feeling head units are going to become obsolete. I know a guy that uses a smartphone and a Dayton Audio DSP408 with the bluetooth adapter and control knob instead of any head unit at all. The factory one is there but not hooked up to anything other than power and it seems to work well for him.
i ran like that for 3 years, well i was using a tablet instead of my phone. also i have a friend thats just using his dsp (which has volume and bass knob) and his phone.
Would Bluetooth from a tablet or phone to a DSP be a clean and high quality enough signal for SQ type build? How would it compare to a CD and a head unit going through RCA cables? I'm just generally curious, but I'm going to guess it's not perceivable to the human ear
thats an interesting question, and the answer is deep and controversial. the short answer is bluetooth 5.0 carries signal that's good enough to sound the same, and in practical use cases, even better than most hardwired setups for a number of reasons.
BT can easily create white noise. Some phones allow you to change BT settings but my Pixel doesn't while connected to the AHU. I recently did a test of USB vs BT. While the track was paused the usb didnt produce any noise at full volume. However as the volume increased with BT the distortion got much louder. I think BT is my culprit. Its probably the combination of Wifi and BT in the same setting thats getting intercepted into the HU. Anyhow Subbed!
all radio has a chance to create SOME noise. however from my own experience, Ive yet to have any..at all. i ran blurtooth in both my SQ comp's where floor noise is a judging point. i got perfect scores both times. anyway, I know it happens. thanks for the sub!
Planning a build now that will be run most the time bypassing the head unit. But I’m replacing the factory head unit with a KW Excelon unit because I’m 50 and not doing so seems wrong.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ive got a s24 ultra which doesn't have a headphone jack which is kinda gay so i still have my old LG v60 that im using as my DAP/DAC whatever you want to call it , its got a duel saber dac in it so its worth keeping and using as a music player
Hey man my name's Dane. I'm from Lafayette Louisiana. So hello from down south. Just wanted to say that I enjoy watching your informative videos. You seem to have a lot of knowledge on the subject. So I wanted to get your opinion on something. I'm trying to decide which amplifier to go with. To push 3 DC Audio level 4 12s with the Bagger Upgrades. Which would you choose out of these amps? Banda Viking 8k Banda Electra Bass 8k Banda Electra Bass 10k Taramps Chipeo 9k Soundigital Evo 4 8k NVX X series 8k Your opinion and time is greatly appreciated man👍Hope your having a great weekend and keep the vids coming ✌️
well personally id rather run 2 of the 18s, they have a QTS of ,701 which is brilliant for an oversized enclosure, or infinite baffle. but for the 3 12s, personally i would only recomend what i have used, 1. gpcaraudio.com/deaf-bonce-apocalypse-aab-7900-1d/ if youre wiring to im guessing 1.3ohms. I recomend that amp because I have been running one for nearly 3 years, and have a lot of buddies running multiples of them.
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts Ok. I actually was considering that amplifier too. I know it's a good amp. Do you think 8,000 watts is enough to push those level 4s to their limit without clipping? I was starting to wonder if I might need a 10k. Idk what do you think about that? Btw thanks for your response and time. 👍
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts That's true I never thought about that. Thats impressive now that I think about it. Bc I've seen when you turn it up. They slam! Ok 👌 im putting all that into consideration now. Thanks for taking the time to discuss this with me man. I appreciate it and your insight on the matter has def helped me sift through all my scattered thoughts on this lol. And I have a better idea of where to go from here now. How much air space does the subs you have take a piece?
Iv got a eq that has almost every feature you have discussed I still use the deck but I could just use the eq sense it has so many different options available 💯👍✌️

you can run a tablet to a dsp and solve all those issues.
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts That's true, I didn't realize that, Thanks.
