I first heard THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS in '79 and since saw them LIVE countless times and once when JIMMY and STEVIE play a double neck together. My ALL TIME FAVORITE !!!
met him, had my picture taken with him...and...got his autograph- a true gentleman...how ironic, i just got his deluxe box set tonight from amazon and am watching him right now with this wonderful band-jeez what a buzz! thank you jimmie!
First time I saw him at C-Boys here in Austin on Congress I walked in and thought where's the bass player. Turns out the keyboardist is so good with that organ they don't need one because he plays all the bass lines with the bass footpedals on his organ.
Yeah! They epitomize what vintage blues is supposed to be. They even did justice to classic jazz blues with the Slide Hampton tune. I figure that the organist must be playing bass with the pedals. He has got it going on! He's so musical on the organ! Where is the bass player? I hear bass lines.
Man, that's the coolest thang I've heard in a very long time. That last song had "Glamour Girl" slick all over the place. Jimmie sounds amazing and the band put a "slide in my glide and a dip in my hip"! Thanks for posting... .
Great to see Jimmie. Last time I saw him live was just him and Lou Ann Barton at XM doing a set for their air. It was good as always and Lou Ann was in rare form. Support your blues players!
Damn Jimmie...when I rotate back to the States, may I have the honor to play Bass with you and your group? Thanks for autographing the Butt Rocking album cover and adding the X on your cast! Please give my regards to Frannie Christina. Y'all are the BEST. Austin Forever
Alway seen him on the cross roads and the interviews this Kat can roll no wonder SRV was great his bro was great this is good...I mean ausem....Roland J Gutierrez from Magdalena New Mexico USA
I bought a Jimmy Vaughn guitar 🎸 It's Looks very much like the one in the picture at the beginning of this video. However the tremolo arm is on the top. Then head neck has been signed by original members. This guitar looks absolutely 💯 natural road worn. It plays and feels like the best looking woman in the world 🌎. If there is anyone out there, who knows about it's origin, perhaps 🤔 it belonged to Jimmie himself, please let me know. I think if it really belonged to him,he might be missing it... Jesse Nashville James
I saw a guy on another video comment on how jimmies playing has declined through the years. That guy must have been deaf. Saw him in about 2013 at my local jazz fest. Wish I got to meet him. I was right at the front. The coolest concert I ever went to
Saw jimmie playing live at Luino lake in italy.got my guitar world poster of him and steve signed... To me the most serious blues player after peter green (I mean white guys)
The wild thing is that Jimmie spent a large chunk of his career just playing guitar and not singing. Stevie got Jimmie to sing on their "brothers" album, Family Style, in 1990. And everybody got bug-eyed, "Jimmie can SING!"
Hey Jimmie, Just in case you read thiis comment, I want you to know that I pray for you. I have asked God to help heal your heart, from the loss of Stevie. You've had to share your personal loss before the world. We know you may feel weary from it at times. Please know that we care about you.
We're going to see Jimmie in St Louis with Eric Clapton. I can't wait!
Getting better with time, like a Fine wine.... he, Jimmy sounds good as ever....

@@markpaine2331 wow, that would have been so cool to watch them up there together. 🙏❤️
We are so blessed to have him here with us. Jimmy is a fighter
I first heard Jimmy and the tbirds at Stubb's barbecue in Lubbock in the late 70's. Some of the best music I've ever heard and seen.
I sometimes think that Jimmie must be the coolest guitar player on Earth
Such an underrated artist
He does too....trust me. The thing is he is cool with it so it works. He is a really nice guy tho with a highly unusual style of playing.
@@O.D.E.GuitarSoundtracks Depends on who you ask. He is a musicians musician

I saw you twice here in Finland w. Fabulous T-Birds, your playing was cool!
Is cool 😎 👌
I love the way he sings... (!)
I like the minimalist style jimmie has. Sounds so retro kool
Sometimes, less is more. I've always liked that about Jimmie's music: he knows when to pause, when to listen to or support the rest of band.
Jimmie never sounds like retro cool , because he is an original cool . I hope he is fine and back on the track to keep it real , like he ever was .
Such artistry and craft
Jimmie is such a cool dude.
Great live legend! Jimmie teaches his younger brother SRV... and he still burning out all these old maple necks! Cheers!

Texas Blues Never Sounded Better.

I love it when one of the greats hits a wrong note. It gives freedom to make mistakes for of us mere mortals.
Thank you for bringing us some bad ass Jimmy. Great job my friend and Jimmy you preop to cabbage No deficits noted here.
My one & only guitar king
Jimmy Vaughan is a great guitarist.
Underrated for sure

Incredible, thank you Paste Magazine!
Jimmy is one cool cat !
Lovely cover of Frame for the Blues
waouh!!!!! excellent!!! Thanks
Legend
He's a master. Pure tasteful licks. It's harder to play his style than some people, rather erroneously I may add, think.
Mercy! Good stuff. Loved the dynamics on “Framed For The Blues”.
I love Jimmy's guitar playing as much as Stevie's. Two different styles but both great,
Is the Bass tracked in on a sequencer ?????
Add that organ, it all comes together 😂
I saw a guy on another video comment on how jimmies playing has declined through the years. That guy must have been deaf. Saw him in about 2013 at my local jazz fest. Wish I got to meet him. I was right at the front. The coolest concert I ever went to

Looking forward to seeing Jimmie with Ally Venable 🙂
Boss!!!
OUCH!!
His brother was excellent too.
Love the Slide Hampton number. Cool as ice on a julep. Or something like that. How about a jazz album next Jimmie and the boys ?
Beautiful jazz chords see Jimi is multi talented. Not all blues men can play jazz too. I know Stevie could play jazz well too
Damn we are getting old. :-(
Framed for the Blues...............................
Yep...
I didn’t know Peter Stormare was in the band!
The wild thing is that Jimmie spent a large chunk of his career just playing guitar and not singing. Stevie got Jimmie to sing on their "brothers" album, Family Style, in 1990. And everybody got bug-eyed, "Jimmie can SING!"
Jimmy Is really complete artist
Yes Jimi is A very good blues singer as well
