Thank you for the inspiration! Your videos are one of the main reasons I started making scratch built terrain models, mostly made out of old broken toys.
I'm not gonna lie, I was not sold on this build until that paint went on. I can't believe how good these looked by the end. Terrain bashing from junk is such an acquired skill, the few times I've tried to make stuff like this I got about 30% in and just couldn't see the shape beyond the junk. I really admire the ability of you youtube creatives to really look past the stuff and see the form as it develops!
SBackle looks like a great product. It already comes pre-scraped down the sides of the jar to eliminate the edge goop from drying out too fast. Much improved over generic spackle.
The little jab at NFT's made me laugh, and these are some genuinely nice objects you made. You're closely paying attention to volume and shuffling up recognizable features to obscure their origins. Good inspiration!
I love this! It just randomly appeared in my recommended, and while I don't build terrain, this was more than enough entertainment and laughs for the entire 15 minutes it ran. The fastest subscribe yet
I'm baffled by your ingenuity! You see shapes and forms in the tiniest pieces of trash and modifies them to an unrecognizable state for your terrain. Creativity knows no limit
Okay, I bought a set of stencils using your discount code. Happy now? (But seriously, loved the video. Reminds me that I have a lot of terrain building to do, and a lot of materials just taking up space with which to build it.)
Fuckin' art attack over here! Inspiring shit. Making terrain out of junk really takes me back. Hell, I've got glue and a bunch of bullshit lying around. I think it's time to get crafty.
Man, I just did a pass on my nasty hoard and threw out a lot of soda cans, coffee lids, CDs and weird plastic bits and lids, figuring I'd never use them as they're too awkward and recognizable... and now this video comes out. Not sure whether I'm happy or sad I didn't see it before. There will always be more trash, I suppose.
Throughout almost every one of your videos I have major doubts and many mini panics that its going to look terrible, but every time your builds look fantastic in the end. One day I'll learn, right?
2:45 That brought back a repressed memory of me rasping the back of my thumb 😬 That's a fantastic set of scatter terrain. The stacked shots at the end look really cool.
Greatest necromunda terrain i have seen. How do you cram so much detail into so small spaces!? Subbed and good luck with future videos. Would like to see a kill team board filled with this style of terrain!
Great work. I love the look of decayed clueless heavy engineering. Those 'pressable indicator blobs' on coffee cup lids can be useful for detailing too.
40k terrain is very forgiving when it comes to scratch building from trash...you can really use anything and it will look great in the end. Great build man. I love it and the commentary is always funny too 😅👍👍
Dang! Watching the build I was thinking, that's looking quite grim- then undercoat, base colors, drybrush: Dynamite! The pieces are no longer grim, they are GrimDark! Too great!
1) Gorilla heavy wood glue works instead of the PVA/baking soda/sand mix. Has actual wood pulp already mixed in. 2) The modularity of the stackable CD terrain pieces is heckin brilliant. 3) your Necromunda green is fantastic.
Yea! I think drink cans are bloody fine as they are! Look, some people go to the store to buy toys and others prefer to steal stuff from other people's trash bags. That's just how it is, but you didn't have to waste everybody's time by making a video about that weird hobby. Who in their right mind would want to watch you messing around with stuff that my dog doesn't even want to touch? You may as well glue a couple of turds together, throw some glitter on it, and call it a battlefield obstacle. Your fascination for stuff like this must have been born out of sheer necessity, when you had to carve your own toys and wands while being locked up under the stairs for years. Well.. You may not be a wizard Harry, but you sure learned how to turn Trash into Painted Trash. Congratulations. Well... that was my meanest. You asked for it. lol. I have to say it was kind of hard to be so mean to someone who comes across as a genuinely nice and funny guy, but.. again... you asked for it! Hope you enjoyed. :) I really liked the video btw. The ideas are great. The execution was done great, and edited really well, and the commentary made me lol several times. You deserve every sub that you can get sir. Keep up the good work.
Another use for those coffee cup tops I just discovered: If you cut out pieces of plastic from them, and put them on a wood cutting board then poke a dental pick or nail into them, when you flip it over the other side of the plastic will have bulged out so that it makes a little raised rivet. You can make a lot of sheet metal bits quickly this way. Try it, you'll be amazed at how easy it is. Great for ork builds I bet.
This is honestly really amazing to me. You took nothing and turned it into something that looks like it belongs to a expensive miniature set or something.
I literally stumbled over this video today (disclaimer - not really, I mean figuratively) and as much as I enjoyed the tongue in cheek commentary, this is a masterclass in trash-bashing. You just got yourself a new subscriber, young fella!
I've been toying with the idea of making a 4×4ft necromunda terrain table that goes up 3ft high. Using 5 pillars (pvc pipe in 4 corners then the middle) and attaching walkways and buildings all around the pillars. Trying to go for the underhive vibe while trying to also make it portable lol
4:11 LOL....i want ad block but tabletop games have all my money. Thanks for reminding me that I have a kitchen FULL of terrain (maniacal laughter echoes through the house).
I like your ideas fir making terrain out of things that would be thrown away. It was kind of funny, when you said "Now this next part, this is a good one" it went to a commercial.
its pretty funny using drywall tape to try and disguise the cd's since now it just looks exactly like a cutting disk XD nah tho, fantastic work as always. I've always called that green colour soviet green, although tbh i dont actually know if they did use that colour alot or if its just a weird association in my head.
"This slightly bigger tea can covered in NFT art" 😂😂😂 Edit: since the dislike button no longer exists ill just skip disliking the video and say this came out incredible. Well done.

What do you mean by the bottom of the barrel?
I'm not gonna lie, I was not sold on this build until that paint went on. I can't believe how good these looked by the end. My unintentional goal seems to be "looks bad before paint" 😂
Same here Kelimar!
When can i move into my Workshack
ya eh bud giver (soon)
YES. Old school. Doesn't get any better than that.
I enjoyed the mention of your special Wyloch Paper ^_^
Dope skills

"Lightly Hydrated"
it is 2 in the morning and i read "edge" as "edible"
Oh HELL YES on that gothic arch.
For super-tall elf-looking(?) arches use nasty black plastic coat hangers with a flat front.
I thought so too.
It's kinda crazy how it looks like a pile of random junk, then you prime it and it looks instantly cohesive and great.
The little jab at NFT's made me laugh, and these are some genuinely nice objects you made. You're closely paying attention to volume and shuffling up recognizable features to obscure their origins. Good inspiration!
Only patrons have seen the exclusive pics of the one using all of those poopy bag cardboard tubes.
Wait so it's not just him?
you really do use ALL the junk... that's why I love your videos.
did you notice that studson narrated this episode?
@@ScratchBashing thought it was Knarb
@@BillMakingStuff I thought it was Bill
"I take this 'Wylock' paper..."
"I build this shanty shack for Eric to live in."
Loving the references ;)
Your junk piles must be EPIC ! How many square m ? Be honest!
about 4m³
@@ScratchBashing nice I've been thinking on organizing a spare room to store all the stuff

Glad you enjoyed, and welcome!
You make magic from garbage. The recycling hero we all need.
the erics hobby work shack, hahaha nice job !
I'm baffled by your ingenuity! You see shapes and forms in the tiniest pieces of trash and modifies them to an unrecognizable state for your terrain.
Creativity knows no limit
thank you kindly
Okay, I bought a set of stencils using your discount code. Happy now?
(But seriously, loved the video. Reminds me that I have a lot of terrain building to do, and a lot of materials just taking up space with which to build it.)
Enjoy! They are a great way to hide cursed materials like pop cans
Reminds me of Akira or other late 80s-early 90s anime apocalyptic environments. ^__^
Fuckin' art attack over here! Inspiring shit. Making terrain out of junk really takes me back. Hell, I've got glue and a bunch of bullshit lying around. I think it's time to get crafty.
This reminds me of an old forum called Terragenesis, where members made all kinds of stuff like this.
There will always be more trash, I suppose.
bask in the regret!
11:51 "It's the 90's and we need caution stripes!"
XD
That goes straight to my favourite quotes file!
Throughout almost every one of your videos I have major doubts and many mini panics that its going to look terrible, but every time your builds look fantastic in the end. One day I'll learn, right?
I'll make a bad one soon!
This guy could place the Ayers Rock into the Grand Canyon and fill up the gaps.
Uluru
Splackle
Please do not use the false colonisation name for uluru. Its grossly offensive and is no longer recognized as being correct.
I call this style “kit-trash”
And it’s FUN.
Good work bro :]
Just 40 seconds in and my mind is blown...
2:45 That brought back a repressed memory of me rasping the back of my thumb 😬
That's a fantastic set of scatter terrain. The stacked shots at the end look really cool.
I am fearful of the rasp
God I fucking love your work. I miss DA ORKY STUFFS but these are so good!

Nice. A bit Bill Making stuff, but with terrain.
He is a bit Scratch Bashing, but with beads 😋
Old CD's make perfect base plates. They are very light and don't bend like cardboard would do
They sell 'rivets' as something called Diamond Dots in Hobby Lobby ... over 2,000 for $2 USD.
No need to cut random stuff apart :)
I boycotted hobby lobby when they refused to exist in Canada
Great work. I love the look of decayed clueless heavy engineering.
Those 'pressable indicator blobs' on coffee cup lids can be useful for detailing too.
Yeah! Those are slightly less common now as more and more brands go to a latte style lid/opening (starbucks style)
@@ScratchBashing They're still hanging on in smaller chains here in the UK, SB, but I think history isn't on their side! All best.
Awesome build mate. Love all the name drops hahaha
Awesome! I love it, Eric! I feel as if I'm watching a mad architect hard at work designing some post-apocalyptic future!
Right on!
What am I going to do?
Go about my day with this newfound knowledge in mind
'Wylock paper' made me chuckle.
I've never seen so much random junk turned into terrain. This is honestly amazing. Glad I stumbled onto your channel!
We need a rivets making tutorial !

Seriously awesome build, and the well placed shoutouts were fantastic. ✌️😁

Shipping those stencils to Poland from Etsy cost almost the same as the stencils themself :P It's not cheap :D
hey, I just invented the art of stencilling. I don't sell them! 😄
@@ScratchBashing okay :(
Why did you stop doing the trash hauls? I really enjoyed those videos!
Consider them to be merely 'paused'
Looks better than the current GW terrain kits.
Great job!
I've discovered your channel with the Pod Racer Challenge, and now im fan of your work !
welcome and thank you
Nice work, the level of extras makes the final product really work
Epic! Cheap! Humorous! A triple threat!👍👍🤩
This is the best channel on UA-cam, period.

another cool use for bad bits!
I'm so glad I have a dog, because now I have access to the little cardboard cylinders you get when finishing poop-bags.
because of this channel I've been saving so much containers and what would be typical trash for making terrain in the future.
This video re-kindled my love for crafting! Yes, It tickled my Jimmies..
Now, Off to Build!!
This is honestly really amazing to me. You took nothing and turned it into something that looks like it belongs to a expensive miniature set or something.
"Eric's hobby work shack" got me good XD
This was a fantastic build. Could absolutely do so many variations of this to create a whole table of unique trash
That's the idea! (If I ever get to it lol)
Fast click
I'm convinced the hawkbill paint brushes are the source of your bashing powers.
brilliant. Made me think of the Mako Reactors from FF7

“Wylock paper” haha. Love it. I subscribed.
Great video, always glad to see Sbackle Basherton on the feed!
Man you really made great looking terrain with stuff we all throw away ll the time that is really really awesome !!
These are always great, I'm curious though, how do you store all this terrain?
I don't! :D
This looks ace. And STURDY. I approve and will steal.
Real NecrOldMunda vibes. Corrugated coffee cups truly are a terrain treasure trove.
Awesome work!
The round shapes, desaturated green and spilling cables really give off this 90s sci-fi/cyberpunk anime aesthetic.
wow.... just, wow. Such a great vid! Loving the effects too!
I feel like this is your best video yet. Love your work!
Glad you think so!
I love how the idea of the video is how to make cool stuff out of cheap materials.
But I'm just absolutely stunned by your creativity
this is literally the best channel i have ever come across and i don’t even build stuff not only are the builds next level but your funny as hell dude
8:50 You're the "Cable Guy"
Good job! I love how these turned out! I was a bit if-e about it like half way in but you pulled it together and those stencils are awesome!!
I think the stencils help to hide the pop cans (bad, bad pop cans)
I’ll never stop being amazed at how a bunch of random crap can look so good
