  • 'Money Printing' by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has been the highlight of Sri Lankan media (including social media platforms) in the past month. Many who believe in the neoliberal ideology expressed alarm by arguing that money printing leads to inflation, and that "Sri Lanka will be the next Zimbabwe". The BiZnomics team reached out to Indrajith Aponsu, Senior lecturer of Economics at the University of Colombo, to unravel the truths and myths behind money printing, Inflation, and depreciation.

    I'm an Indian. I don't like my country media politicising this issue due to Sri Lanka s' closeness towards China . I hope Sri Lanka comes out of this crisis with strength. India 🇮🇳 loves Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

    In real world ..
    Bellow countries also kept printing money to tackle the debt.
    Now they are facing disasters levels of inflations
    Venezuela 2355%
    Zimbabwe 676%
    Sudan 76%
    South Sudan 36.4%
    Argentina 46.9%
    Iran 22%
    wrapped with hectic social issues!
    Just because of corrupted politicians and collapsed economists (policy makers)
