This video was very helpful to help guys like myself with no CDL but many questions on how exactly to handle a truck & trailer of this size. I believe the more we address the everyday handling characteristics of these trucks, the more people will be comfortable with the idea of piloting one professionally. This comment is 3 year late but the flowers are fresh, thank you. 🥀🌻🥀🌻
Luckily i saw this video a night before going for CDL road test and just wanna appreciate for making such a well explained video for my understanding ! it saved me a lot and i passed my CDL road test by this knowledge for turnings ! thanks
Why would you turn into the inner lane and then move to the outer lane in the 1st scenario? Can't you just turn to the outer lane and stay there? I have never seen people turning like that... we just pull forward straight and then make the left into the outer lane.
in Canada, when making left or right turns, you're always supposed to complete your turn in the right-most lane for right turns, and the left-most lane for left turns, otherwise it's illegal. But the turn you described in your comment would be an illegal maneuver in Canada.
I agree, my instructor says you always start on the outermost lane when turning . So now I gotta instantly click of this vid cuz this guy is sus just for that scenerio
I have my road test at 8am in the morning. We have two turns that you do a right turn then immediately go to a left turn. The only thing that has me nervous. Thanks for the video
Hi Sir, At the end of the video, you talked about taking left titns from ramp. Could you pls tell me from which lane we have to take right turn if there are two lanes for right turns on ramp
I had the same question, the answer I found is: you stay in the right turn lane furthest to the right, wait for the cars in the other right turn lane to the left of you to make the turn and then proceed to turn.
Thanks for the video, In the end of this video you forgot to explain how to do right turn when thr is two right lane, can you please help me answering that?
I m a new driving and want to learn more.. How to turn left or right. And see you said When you try to turn the right on single road yr seat/you must be straight with right line corner shoulder then start make a turn.. I Think that is too early to do. It or not? Please..
I had a situation when making a left turn to the left 2 lane road when small car sneaked on the left and hit the trailer and blamed me for hitting him. Please advise who is to blame? Should the driver be patiently waiting till the semi completes the turn or should sneak from the left and cause dangerous situation? Please advise. Thanks 🙏
on the first part of your point... why?? why go to the right lane, then the left lane and then back to the right lane?? I was taught to turn in to the right lane period, no need to over complicate it.
Just the left is confusing at school they want to stay on the right lane. Make no sense if you already on the right go to the left and then right lane confusing better just to stay on the right far away lane and stay there hope I pass my test like that
If I ever got into trucking and I was doing a left turn in a single lane I certainly wouldn't go left I would stay to the right turning close to the curb on the right
I disagree on how you illustrated making a left turn when there are two left-turn lanes. According to my New York State Commercial Driver's Manual, "On a left turn, make sure you have reached the center of the intersection before you start the left turn... If there are two left-turn lanes, always select the outside left-turn lane. Don't start in the inside left-turn lane, because you might have to swing wide to make the turn; then you would have to watch for anyone coming alongside you in the lane to your right, where your ability to see is limited. Drivers on your left can be more readily seen."
Super understanding class, very nicely explaining and hats off to you Sir whoever is explaining the right way to turn a truck & trailer, really appreciated God bless you!!!🎉🎉
Man ... Thanks 🙏. My instructors at school didn't even tell me this stuff I've been hitting curbs and it's never even a teachable moment after I do....they don't give a shit.
You missed the explanation for the right turn off the highway. I am in CDL school and had to exit right from a highway ramp with two right turn lanes to a two lane divided road and I was wide enough for my tandems to stay in my lane but not enough room in front of me to keep my driver-side steer tire from slightly going over the median

Best turn maneuvers illustration 👌, love it 🙌!!!
What if you are making a left turn in the intersection & there is a red light
5/5 very neat
Thanks it was really nice easy to understand!!!
I disagree on how you illustrated making a left turn when there are two left-turn lanes. Please watch the video again it explains everything what to do if you have a single left turn lane or double left turn lanes to begin with.
Thanks a lot bro
