- Could not find any instructions for Volvo V70 MK2 door locks won't open. The reason is often deadlock, which will not open.
This is basis for instruction how to get the door open for lock actuator replacement.
Mine locked on a 2002 v70 and a flat batt.
Conected a 12v 7ah to the underbonnet earth and door lock fuse..pressed fob..worked!!
There us a positive terminal near the fusebox under the hood. It should work akso, if you give positive 12 V to that terminal and earth to any bolt there.
Which fuse is the door lock fuse?
@@lucaswielinga4621 have a look under the cover.
@@lucaswielinga4621 dont give 12 V to the fuse. You may set the car on fire in seconds in worst case.
Hey Ari, I have a Volvo V70 2003. My passanger door dead locked and I cut out the panel and took a chisel to it. Destroyed the lock then opened the door. I had all the spare parts from another car. I changed everything, and it worked for a while. Then it would not work electronically, then it deadlocked again. Any ideas why it the electronics give out?
If you sit in the car, lock the doors with remote controller and listen silently 2 minutes: All the doors will go to dead lock and you can hear that. Does the passenger door lock give that similar sound, as well - or a rattling noise?
@@arivaisanen4561 Hey Ari, I can hear a "zip...zip...zip" coming from the door. But what I also forgot to say was the electric window will not work as well now. I definately think there is an electrical issue.
@@Bertel-yr3yw zip...zip...zip.. When the deadlock activates itself, its operatin part mechanically rotates to locking position. If that sound is heard at the deadlocking moment - and it differs from the sound of otger doors, I would like to say that it works electrically, but has a mechanical issue. The issue could be with the sprocket.
@@Bertel-yr3yw does the passenger side window work when using driver's controls?
@@arivaisanen4561 no
