It’s amazing the Burano won so many awards. When I was there, I saw nobody checking it out. I walked right up to it several times this week to have a play with it without interruption. Whereas the Blackmagic booth was a madhouse. Had to wait a bit at the demo area to just a get close look at the offerings.
Hahaha for the price of the Burano you could buy Pyxis and a bmcc 6k and 2 tripods and lenses, monitors and more and start a whole production company. How freeing is that.
Burano has been out for over 6 months now - Pyxis is the breaking news and with a 3k price point its a much more accessible option
there has been many complaints about IR pollution from the internal NDs in the Burano

The show awards are generally all politically handed out.
DJI Focus Pro. Used in conjunction with the PYXIS would be cool, too.

I believe Asus also showed off and announced an 8k miniled HDR monitor at NAB this year. Strangely enough it will likely be the 2nd 8k monitor to market and the first was released around 8 years ago! The Dell 8k monitor is still $4,000 to this day, and the Asus one might actually end up being cheaper strangely enough.
THe DJI Pro is my favorite and I have it on order but nowhere can I find when it will ship!
Hey man nice quick showcase. If you get the L-mount version of the new BM box camera, please consider testing AF with a Sigma " i " series lens.
I thought autofocus was only with ef mount.
@@colinthomas2525 AF is listed as a feature for L-mount with compatible lenses. You can clearly see the electronic contacts in pictures.

Kinda funny how the almost 4 year old FX6 runs circles around the new blkmagic box camera yet some people are so excited about it
Literally No one would've cared if the black magic was a little bit thicker if we got a flip out screen.
Fun fact, in about 6 months the Blackmagic video monitors will be able to control the Pyxis 6K cameras via the touchscreen. That will make a lot of users happy once the firmware is released.
I get why people are annoyed by the fixed screen on the pyxis, but it's for a different user group than the pocket. I would have preferred the screen and the whole camera to be slightly smaller. But overall it looks like a perfect upgrade over the 6k for multicam shoots.
Definitely still going to hold off though because I'm not in love with the 6K full-frame sensor.
Hope someone customizes the Pyxis to have a flip out screen

I’m curious what the autofocus abilities of this camera will be. A variable ND filter can always be attached, but useable autofocus cannot.
Adding the DJI Focus Pro to my Lumix would solve so many AF issues!
They did it on the GH6 they need to do the same for S5IIX
Anyone else find it hilarious that this device keeps being used on the fx3. The camera which has one of the best auto focus set ups built in, on the market.
The device is for manual lenses, so any camera with good autofocus can still use it for manual lenses.

The Focus Pro system is going to be soooo sweet, I can finally get autofocus on my cine lenses without having to also setup the camera on my RS3 Pro. Awesome!! Already lost interest in the Pyxis, the fixed screen on the side just ruins it for me. I already know it's going to give me neck and back strain from having to arch over or squat down to access it. Not good for a long shoot day at all. Needs to be on the top or articulating. I'll wait for the "Pro" version when BM inevitably fixes this bad design choice.

Atomos is straight up just taking products that currently exist and saying “Let’s barely improve this at all and charge 5-20x as much.” They’re getting so much flack right now.
Imagine if we only had 1 Car Manufacturer, 1 Phone to choose from and 1 Camera to use. It's good to see competition and ultimately people will vote with their wallet.

@@colinthomas2525 oh.. ok… I have sdi on my Sony camera. I never used it.. but what do you plug up sdi too? I was thinking if you wanted to put another monitor…. I don’t know how I feel about this side monitor yet? It’s giving me channel 5 news vibes.
@@CINEMAWORX ok so sdi is a more secure connection and has way less latency vs hdmi especially 12Gsdi. It makes it easier to do focus pulls. The only problem with sdi is you have plug and power things a certain way or you can fry the port.
Don’t listen to the UA-cam crowd whining about the side screen. Just look at it this way, it’s a menu screen for settings which just happens to be usable in other ways too. Every box camera usually has a small screen to change settings but it’s useless for anything else so Blackmagic actually gave you more. They also have the best menus in the whole business.
Everyone who wants this camera is going to put an extra external monitor on it anyways just like ever other cinema camera or hybrid mirrorless.
The side screen is useful right out of the box for corporate interviews, broadcast setups and such without having to spend more money.
Yes it would be cool if the screen flipped out but it’s not a deal breaker that some are claiming . It’s definitely not the perfect camera for everyone and neither is the new 12k/17k or any camera for that matter.

I have the pocket 4k cinema camera,, I’m hipped to black magic.. just don’t like the battery life.. lol,, I want to start using my black magic more.. just don’t Ike the rigging out and battery life part of it.. I’ve been looking at this new camera from them and I’m like 🤔🤔,,, yes I’m use to external monitors.. but the side monitor still makes me think of the news.. lol
