    The RC Pro is far superior in many ways, for mavic 3 complements it well and should have been standard with both the regular and cine. It is overpriced, but as others have said you get what you pay for. For the Mini 3 pro then it's a no brainer to get with the rc controller.

      The pro is better than the rc. But it ain't 4 times better lmao. You paying $1200 for a controller. You can get a mini 3 pro with rc controller and a used mini 2 with n1 controller for the same price as 1 stupid rc pro controller. The real price should have been $499 for the rc pro.

    Great remote I agree, I have it too. The other thing if you don’t want to get calls with other remotes, there is an option called “Do not disturb”. Pretty much in everyone phone, so you won’t get a call while flying 😀

    The downside to this controller is the inability to load apps. The controller accepts a SD card so memory should not be an issue. It would be a great improvement if DJI would allow side loading apps.

    I am still new to this controller and still figuring things out but it appears that the only way to get stored media files off of the controller (and also the drone) is to fiddle around pulling the micro SD card out, putting it into an adapter, plugging that into a card reader and plugging that into the computer. If that is correct, i.e. that there is no other way to access the files for editing and/or any other kind of management like efficiently batch deleting or creating sub folders for longer term organized storage.
    The exact same thing applies to the files on the drone itself. And frankly it doesn't make sense to me that DJI could produce such a refined system in every other way and only be left with cell phone functionality for managing data.
    The other thing I would be interested in knowing is if there is a way to TURN OFF every video and photo file being produced by the drone and stored on the drone's SD card ALSO being duplicated on the controller and have to fiddle around with clearing those files out manually from the controller.

    How about all the complaints concerning the brightness of the screen and the loss of signal that happens

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman  Рік тому +1

      These are complaints that I have not experienced but apparently they effect some people. I have not lost signal or had the remote get out of flight mode in a flight and i have flown it over 100 acres of forrest and in city. I've flown in full sun and I didn't have a problem seeing the screen. There have been multiple firmware updates just in the last couple months on the remote so I would be curious if the people who have complained have seen a signal and stability improvement. As someone who came from the mavic 2 smart controller with all the bells and features I would say the RC is more stable, has better signal, no annoying external antenna and is super light. It's obviously not for everyone, but I believe it's for most.

    I'm in your position. Thrilled with my M2P and SC purchased in late 2020. It's been the perfect controller. I'm now looking at going with a 3 series and disappointed with how much more they're charging for the RC Pro. My biggest hesitation with the RC is the dimmer screen (700 nits vs 1000 I have now), but I'm also disappointed that they got rid of the of the D controller. Do you miss it? I have mine programmed to point my gimbal down and up quickly b/c I have the gimbal knob set to move it extremely slowly for smoother action while filming, so I need a quick way to look below me when scanning the area.

      I use it exactly the same way and yes...C1 moves it right away looking down and click it again it looks up. The solid feel of the nobs of the Mavic 2 Smart Remote I do miss, but I'm pretty happy with this remote. The screen brightness isn't that bad, but I'm usually flying from my car or shade.

    I think if you are flying in open non-urban areas then you shouldn't find much of a difference between the RC and RC Pro or even the RCN1. Where I see the RC Pro performing better is in areas of higher signal interference, because it has "better" antennae. Even on my MVP2 controller, by moving the antennae it makes a difference when you lose signal. With the RC there is only the internal antennae. Some UA-cam reviewers even put the RC controller behind the RCN1 because of the lack of directional antennae. It all depends on what you need and what type of environment you will fly your drone.

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman  Рік тому

      You are right. I have flown 70+ acres of woods and farm with no signal issues. That being said for all my city shoots I have never had a shoot that requires me to fly beyond a mile so I haven't had issues with signal loss. The one difference I do notice from day to day operation is the quality feel of the controls and buttons. That would be the reason I would to the RC Pro. For most people the RC is more than enough.

      Depends on the cost of risk. If you drop this controller on cement chances are you will break more than just the screen since the plastic is cheaper. I always use a neck strap and then store in a hard pelican case. I haven't used a screen protector on a phone in yrs, but that reason is a little longer to explain.

    I have this remote with my Mini 3 Pro. Love it. It's actually pretty durable. I was flying my drone in some Sand Dunes in Utah and so much fine sand was getting in to the remote I thought it would break. Got a bunch of errors from it - calibration issues, buttons sticking, etc. Got home, used a can of Airspray on it, and remote's back to Normal. What neck strap do you use? I should get one.

      I was wrong on that one. It's just Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro and Air 2s. As a Mavic 3 user I would be tempted to pick up the Mini 3 Pro as a backup.

      I had the Smart controller for the Mavic 2 and the screen was brighter, but for this I haven't noticed a huge decrease. I do typically fly from a shaded area without direct sunlight, but even when I do it hasn't been a problem.

    I have just buyed mavic3 classic with this rc rm330. The main problem with this rc is that android is stuck on kiosk mode, impossible to install application, its a shame and illegal. I need weather, maps, drone spot applications,etc , i need a additionnal device(phone or tablet) and we lose main advantage of this rc.

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman  Рік тому +1

      I use this remote the same as I did my old pro remote and it hasnt effected my flying and shooting. Why do you need to access weather on the controller or add any other apps? Gps maps are always updated on the RC as well. If I need android apps outside of flying my drone I would never use my drone controller for them. Your phone is more powerful in running android apps and more convenient.

    • @ds2kx
      @ds2kx Рік тому +1

      @@JaredHoyman the rc is powerfull enough to permit install applications. Some applications is very usefull like google maps, checklist, drone spot, live weather forcast, sun surveyor, live sky map(usefull to known trafic in air where you are)... Etc simple application very usefull on mission. If i need my phone or a tablet to have it, rc-N1 is better, this rc rm330 is useless. I am very disappointed with my purchase. and remember that is not legal to sell a product like this, its broke some android license agreement and european rules.

    I won't agree with you~ a lot of people's experienced after using the RC will criticized its internal built-in antenna was the major weak point, it disconnected with the drone happened usually in a very short distance~ and the screen recording quality is the worst ever~

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman  Рік тому

      Yeah, I have never experienced any disconnection over the past 3 months of owning it and I fly and shoot professionally 5 days a week. My smart controller with my mavic 2 would once in a great while. The distance I get with the RC and Mavic 3 blows the smart controller and mavic 2 out of the water. As for the internal recording I have never needed to for clients or wanted to. The only time I could see myself using it is in a tutorial on youtube and at that point it would be quick B footage that I would upscale. It's nothing that is needed professionally. The only feature I could see needed on a set is the HDMI out for a larger display to show a client.

      That is quite the false accusation. As of today I have never been given any products by DJI or been paid by DJI or even been contacted by DJI. No company paid me to make this video and I purchased all my DJI equipment out of my own pocket. When I’m excited about a product and believe it’s a good value I will talk about it. It’s pretty sad when people like you jump on the “me too movement” of tech reviews and accuse others of lying when all you’re going on is a hunch or opinion.
