I used to do the same with my N but didn't know there was something called Hypermiling. Also to do Hypermiling for 1000kms requires a hell lot of patience.
2019 dzire diesel (bs-4) during winters, auto ac set to 27 degrees, 4 persons on board, 200kms long stretch @ 90kmph got an impressive fuel economy of 33.7 kmpl tank to tank method
Once I've got almost 28KM/L millage from my TATA Zest 1.3L 75 PS diesel engine. And even in city like Pune getting average around 19 KM/L. I always glad to see after getting >18 figure. In this I've learn many tricks to achieve it.

Hey Mukul. Superb content. I also own a scirpio N diesel auto. Using hypermiling i got best of 17kmpl. But since u were shifting early n always below 2k rpm there is always a risk of DPF getting sooted up. What do you think abt it.
Thanks🙂. 17 is great, considering Automatic Gearbox. I have not had any DPF issue so far. Except for a manual regen message that popped up when the car had done less than 10000km. A small drive of 15 mins near 2500 rpm is usually enough after these drives. Of course I am saying from my personal experience. This is the third Hypermiling (best one) in last 15000km and I have had no issues with the DPF clogging. 🙂
whats up .. where have you been... nice idea with the seal on the tank ... very innovative i own a petrol now .. cant help but think if i can do the same
Not to a great extent, but it does. In manual mode you may ease of the acceleration and climb upward gradients gradually or with momentum but in CC it maintains the input speed at the expenses of fuel. Nothing significant in my opinion. But this drive was to extract every last drop of Diesel and make it count. So skipped in general.
No, cruise control was not used as I wanted this to be more driver focused and also it's a pain to keep switching it ON every single time. I feel the next update should have adaptive cruise control. Do try it, it's fun. 🙂
You started log on 23945 and you filled it again at 25037. This means you ran 1092 kms in 54.77 liters and thereby obtaining fuel average of 19.93 kmpl.
Hi Mukul , Do you face any upper back pain after driving ? Pls share if there are any adjustments can be done? I feel upper backpain after driving this beast.
Hey Prakash, if the pain you are referring to is located near trapezius muscles then I highly recommend getting your seat closer to the steering wheel such that your arms are not stretched while holding the steering. Also the shoulder should be fairly relaxed and seat recline must be such that the shoulder blades comes in contact to the seat back rest. And avoid a hunch. This is how I set my seat for every drive and I have been fortunate enough to be pain free. Hope it help you as well. 🙂
Hello Mukul , I have booked my scorpio n petrol MT and its about to be delivered this week , But someone close is strongly suggesting to buy diesel MT 2x4 Due to mileage issues My running as of now with honda citu petrol is around 10000km a year, I live in a tier 2 city , so for majority city driving a two wheeler is primarily used . Car would be driven on weekends only or long trips . Plus looking at where the govt regulations are heading , petrol version seems a better option. Should I consider diesel ?? As per my calculations the premium I'd pay for diesel will get exhausted in 5 odd years I plan to keep my vehicle to the max duration Your consul would be greatly appreciated
Hey Anshuman, if your running is low I always suggest a Petrol car. Yes, the consumption is very high for a petrol SUV. But remember that in long term that you plan to keep the car, a diesel engine will cost higher to maintain. Anything close to 15000-20000km per year is in Diesel territory. In my opinion a petrol SUV with it's high power output and RWD coupled with your less usage is a perfect combination. But be prepared as it's mileage figures are not going to be even close to Honda City. 🙂
@@mukulslens hello again , as you mentioned , i calculated my costs again and decided to purchase diesel and got it delivered today , thanks I needed your advise on one more thing , as Mahindra guys asked to drive diesel engine mostly above 2000 rpm as driving below would choke the def filter , and mileage is best below 2000rpm How do you manage to have both ?
Congratulations 🎊. The Diesel engine is very frugal and gives good mileage even at 2000, maybe upto 2500-3000 rpm (Reasonable). So get ready to have amazing journeys with your SUV. Congratulations again.🙂
@@mukulslens Very kind of you to say that 😃 when I see 20kmpl it hurts.. if possible please do suggest way to acheive atleast 10kmpl in petrol auto engine
@@akkisak Be gentle on the pedals. Do not sudden accelerate especially from traffic signals or while unnecessary overtaking. While climbing uphill or a flyover, press the pedal gently and while coming off a slop, leave the pedal. I know its difficult coz' the petrol motors is so peppy and a beast of a motor to be driven so gently.
Thanks Mukul for considering my request to make a video on this subject. Really appreciate

Impressive indeed. It was almost impossible to beat a DDiS in terms of mileage.🙂
I maintained 30 kmpl on MID in S Cross 1.3 diesel 2016 for 2000+ kms including 20% city driving.
You sir achieving 20+ in 4^4 is exceptional.
Thank you. 🙂
Crazy stuff man. Hypermiling is a diligent job, congrats for achieving such an amazing figure.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you. 🙂
It’s a culture to bring in India. Nice presentation 😊
Thank you. 🙂
These kinds of videos are filled with infotainment I always look forward to. God one 👏

I got my scorpio n z8 manual diesel last month
I got mileage about 14 to 15 with total Odo 600 km running i am impressed
This video needs to get viral ❤ waiting for new amazing video in which 2.2mhawk engine is rolling on the roads 😊
Glad you've enjoyed the video. New videos will be out soon. 🙂

Such a good figure. I wasn't aware about this technique. Will try on my N. Thanks for the informative video.

Always solid 18-20kmpl mileage in honda city diesel 4th gen. A gem diesel engine.
Yea. It sure was. 🙂
Great!
I think as you drive more mileage of diesel engine will increase.

No drive mode selection option in this model. It's always in Zoom equivalent mode.

That is uncertain. Depends what the government implements in the future. 🙂
