this whole album is so strangely relaxing yet brutal.... one of my favorite Dimmu albums for sure. up there with Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon.

Such a Great song! Love these older Dimmu albums, Stormblåst might be my favorite. You guys should react to Mourning Palace live in Poland 1998 to see how they performed back then. They play the song a bit fast, but the attitude is top notch. And talk about Shagrath, man his vocals were great back in the day.
I have loved how that opening riff goes on forever.. lol this is really the only album i have familiarity with by them. I'm not the biggest black metal guy but certain bands i like like Emperor and early Cradle of Filth. etc.
I love this band so much, it is a bummer that they don't do headline tours often (or at least not since I have discovered them in like 2018 or so), because I really want to see them live in their full element.
If you guys love wintersun especially their first album then check out "Clamoris - Opus Limbonica" you gonna love it. Btw i think Wintersun got their inspiration from Symphony X not really dimmu ;)
THIS is one of the right songs to react to, back when they were passionate about Metal. Also i wouldn't go to a dimmu Show these days, cause they lack so much of passion and will. They tried to play their old songs in Bergen to their 20th anniversary and Galder (their guitarist) couldn't play any solo of it while butchering it lol but have fun 😌👌🏾

Old dimmu is to me the best, to me dimmu borgir died as a band after the 2001 album, they did continue on the same path as the 2001 album which they never really manage to top, as the years did go by and they released many albums and they did rely too much of symphonic orchestra and not have good enough guitar riffs to back it up. I think they let the lead singer in the band with his favorite band devil doll to dominate the sound of dimmu too much.
It’s probably because Wintersun hasn’t released a lot of music. Sons of Winter and Stars is amazing, and some other songs off their self titled are great. But The Forest Seasons was just ok, and that’s really all they have. And now that Time 2 is going to be released, it better be the best metal album ever considering how long it’s taken lol
