Nah man, you gotta be very carefully with that. There is a reason why the police don't want unknown third parties to intervene in crime investigations, as they cannot know what their true intentions are. Especially the police in the US are in a reasonable fear of facing a gunfight at every corner, so there is a high risk to escalate the situation, stressing the police out and forcing them to apply brute force on everybody around. And that can actually lead to completely unnecessary injuries or deaths.
Yes, if you see a cop that gets beaten up, you may intervene if you feel it (and in some cases, we are also legally obligated to), but the cop was in a predominant position already and was only struggling with putting on handcuffs, so need for civil heroism. The police female did a overall good job, but was negligent when not ordering him to piss off. There is a reason why only uniformed individuals with special education are authorised to enforce the law.

If she accepted help, it was likely because she struggled, and following your same logic, if the passerby had ill intentions like pulling a gun on the officer, wouldn't he had done so already? she was completely helpless because she was struggling to cuff the criminal, and likely letting her go to defend herself would have allowed her to go to the car and reach for her LOADED FIREARM.

The network of roadways in the West isn't like it is in the East. Excellent content, just subbed!! I watch a lot of the police vids, more than I’d like to admit. And I’ve yet to see video of a female officer detain someone resisting without a passerby needing to assist. I’ve seen male officers helped by passerby’s as well, but the men they were up against were huge. Officer Hernandez seems like a great officer/person, and her backup was given the wrong location, but they should have had someone in route long before they ran the plates. That woman was maybe 125lbs, and even if resisting shouldn’t have been the struggle it was. When she wanted to go back to the car, Officer Hernandez should have stopped the ruse and detained her by her patrol car. Say the car was reported stolen or she matched the description of someone…saying you’re detaining her so you can grab her sweater is nonsensical even with the language barrier. Letting her get that close to the car was dangerous. If the person coming to get her got there before backup, that could have gone bad in a hurry. Thank God for the passerby. I’m shocked these officers don’t take better care of themselves. Their lives literally depend on it.

There’s a big reason why most cops here are not cool and calm to begin with. The amount of hostility they face on the daily and the fact they can get killed at any time is why they’re so jumpy. In the UK, you don’t have to worry about getting shot because of your weird ass gun laws. Here they have to worry about it and assume everyone has a firearm, as it’s our right to own one responsibly.

@@opticfloyyydYou would be surprised how many criminals in the UK do in fact own guns and how easily they can go on rampages because of the cops having to wait for special armed squads. In my city a few months ago a man was walking around going into stores and bars with an AK and opening fire randomly, not particularly trying to hit anyone, he was just a clown. Took the cops 10 hours to find and deal with him because upon first contact the officers only armed with tasers couldn't exactly do anything about it. Also you might wanna look that up because you can actually legally own guns in the UK, they're just not handed out to anyone who asks.
