First off, thank you for the video, awesome as always. I am a huge Spelunker fan as I have been coming to the park since the mid 70s. Dark rides are amazing and this version is no different. You are correct, they have been neglecting this ride in all 3 versions for quite sometime. Hope there is more love as we move forward... And yes I agree, got to keep the jackwagon guest from ruining it for all of us. Please keep the videos coming. Amazing as always.
I never rode the PIRATE version, but rode it BEFORE the pirate version. It was so long ago, I don't remember much about it... except the part that was freezing cold before the ride was over.
This breaks my heart. As a fan of both the original Speelunkers and dark rides in general... I hope that this ride will get the developments it needs. And that gift shop needs Spee merch...
I rode this a month- ish after it opened. The power on the ride went out, and we had to sit there for at least five minutes. When it started back up and we got out of the dark area, I asked the operator if we had to get off so we could re-ride it, she said no, because it was a walk on. It was amazing tho.
Yes this ride was amazing, they reopened it. And fixed everything with alot more movements within the ride :). I haven't rode it. I was talking with other fellowing coworker they added more spelunker's in the ride great video as always keep up the great work
This is weird to me. As a visit in 1990 Yosemite River Adventure (intercom message to me NOT to video tape) Guest behind me alerted me to message. Nothing was said to me prior or de-boarding the ride. I felt embarrassed by the incident. Johnson's Creek flows though the park, so it will flood from time to time like Georgia (Chattahoochee river nearby) Water should either be auto discharged, moved to existing lakes/rivers of park for later discharge. BE Pro active + professional!!!!!!! You've had the property since 1960 . You know its nuances. Water rides need TLC. That's Y Splash Mountains are being re imaginged. Moister + electronics don't mix well. New AA tech can greatly fix problems.
Speelunker Cave has been closed since September I think? It’s an awesome ride, I agree, it’s good, and even one one time I went to Six Flags, I rode it, and a few hours later, there was an electrical fire, that just shows how downhill it went. (Edit): I went there on May 11, 2022, for the commercial stuff, I honestly didn’t want to be in the commercial, just went to ride the ride lol
This is the first time I noticed. Your mic quality is so much better. A massive improvement. The editing has massively improved over the last 2 years. It’s hard to see you grow up 😢

These types of boat rides are not deep, they barely float because the boats aren’t designed to do that, they are just literal tubs that float around a shallow track

Very sad. When I was a kid a very long time ago, Six Flags was much better taken care of. People were respectful. There was no "Security" searches at the gate. The rides were taken much better care of, pricing was much more reasonable as well. I just took my son here and Six Flags was a big disappointment. The DC Comics theme is horrible. It was themed purely around the 6 countries that governed Texas. The food was representative of that country section, the souvenirs were representative of that country section and the rides were themed respective of that country section. The current workers were not attentive, lazy, did the absolute minimum such as just standing in a place with a uniform on. The park was so much different then what it was 40 years ago from my childhood. Even the guests, they were rude, low class, obnoxious, just horrible. Kids were out of control, etc. There was no chaperone policy and there was no searches at the gate. Definitely a result of the mentality of people today. The cave was open and it was not terrible. But the ride operators and attendants were doing absolutely the bare minimum. I remember seeing one of the 5 employees I noticed actually doing something - instructing the guests on how to get on / off the boats. The others I saw sitting or standing around doing nothing. Well, I have my memories from the 80s and 90s.

honestly this ride is more scary then fun one time I went through the ride with no audio and it was so creepy it was just squeaking

i rode this attraction with the new theming and it was terrible. the bottom of the boat was BENDING. i literally thought we were going to sink

Not a failure but it failed in aspects I said in the video it’s a great ride but it’s closure happened due to the park neglecting the attraction
