Probably most of you guys don't know Japan is one of the places gets snow most in the world. The cold wind from north absorbs tons of moisture from the sea of Japan and it hits to mountains.
The pacific side, instead, gets dry and cold wind from the mountains. This is one of the reason why Tokyo and Osaka are the big two cities in Japan.

I lived where it snowed a fair amount, but nothing like some of these scenes. One of the best presents I've ever received was a snow thrower from my Mom. It had a Tecumseh 2 cycle engine, but it always started on the first pull, and it was so easy to clear our walk and driveway. The snow was always a dry powder, so the machine had no trouble making quick work of the task. The second best day was the day I sold it because we were moving to an area that did not receive snow.

@@draggy6544 We moved from Cedar City, Utah to Blythe, California. It was a huge difference in climate. If you haven't heard of either place, I understand. Cedar City is about 5,800 feet elevation in Southern Utah, and can get a fair amount of snow, but it is all dry powder. It can be difficult to make a decent snowball with it. Blythe, is in the desert by the Colorado River, and having high temperatures of 115 is common each year. From what I understand, the last time it snowed in Blythe, was in the 1930's, and everything ground to a halt with one inch of snow on the ground.
