      Are these grits necessary? I picked up a 6 pack from you guys that range from 500 to 4000 and I haven't dared to use the 500 yet. 1k for urethane, 2k for solid, 3k for pearl. The 1500 and 4k haven't gotten much use yet either.

      @Ctdbowling maybe my rev rate is higher than I think because if I throw 17mph on the monitor and I throw my Pitch Black at board 20 laydown to the 3 board downlane, I can get easily get to the pocket with 1000 grit CTD pad. If I threw that line with a 240 grit, I would be only hitting the 10 pin. I am also left handed

    Great demonstration! Bowled last night on Wolf32...I don't have a urethane and have a 12mph roll (tops 12.5). It was brutal. Ended up throwing a plastic spare ball... been looking for an unbiased comparison. Threw and Old Earl Anthony Magnum 12 for decades back in the day. Love my iQ Ruby...gonna go get a u78 for those short patterns.

    Thanks for the very informative video, Ronald. I appreciate you as A student of the game. I appreciate your genius inside as well. That’s one of the reasons why I joined as a regional Staffer. Keep up the great work as we try to grow this sport. Thanks.

    Cool video Ron. I would be afraid to use any CTD pads that are less than 1000 grit. I have a 500 that I am scared to use since the 1000 grit seems to be plenty. I want to be able to keep the ball on the lane. My speed ranges from 15-18mph on the monitor, depending on which zone I am throwing. It was cool seeing the Sumo. It's been a while...

    Great Video Ron!! Just shows that the HAMMER Nu is not urethane.. not even close. They can sell it however they want but it’s definitely reactive and on a short pattern that definitely shows

      You are correct, the NU Blue Hammer is NOT Urethane, which means folks can throw it in league and the urethane haters can't say anything about it. 😊 a few folks got it and are very happy with how it performs on the THS at the houses in my area.

    That looks like a long pattern vs what i was bowling on tonight. Oil machine broke and they havent been able to oil the lanes for 5 days! Break point before arrows so even my purple hammer was too strong. Had to use my blue dot

    I currently use a Gryo Blue Sanded that I bought in 1999 (Just got into a league after 10 years out). I'm looking for a modern version of it. But Ebonite no longer makes this ball. Would the IQ 78 be a good replacement?

    If the reason for 78 on tour is because they claim all urethane softens up 3-5 and that no matter what the urethane will still be higher then 73 what will the real difference be once the 78s are soft and get down to 74?

    • @Ctdbowling
      @Ctdbowling  8 місяців тому +3

      78s don't get soft. That 40 year old Sumo is still 78.

    • @erici9025
      @erici9025 8 місяців тому

      @@Ctdbowling But the pba/players are claiming urethane is getting soft which is the reason for the new hardness rule on urethane. Alleging that 73/74 was going below that to 70 and that at 78 urethane would still be 74 or higher. So either the pba is lying, cant measure accurately, or pba players are softening their equipment. You would have the better answer for this with your industry experience but something doesn't add up based off the information given.
