It's the reason why Kreig Guardsman only have Commisars and Officers from their own world and they aren't shared with other worlds.
Other Officers don't get enough men killed for them to be considered devout by the Krieg guardsmen and Krieg officers get too many men killed in normal regiments causing moral to break rapidly.

There is also a plenty of hints and direct prooves that Alpha Legion are indeed true worshippers of Chaos and even more hints and direct prooves that they are somewhere in between, whatever this "in between" really is. Anyway, they surely have a Plan. Most probably more than one.

Hell, the 19th still deserve respect for an epic death. For them to have held out against Chaos space marines, let alone the Death Guard for that long.
I can't remember the book, but, even the Brazen Minotaurs and Raven Guard (I think) had their hands full fighting blight marines. For mere mortals to have held out that long is a feat.

Plus, every dead plague marine is a huge loss for the Death Guard. No matter how superhuman, well equipped, and experienced you are, some random 24 year-old with a melta gun has the potential to kill you. And that is hilarious.

@@Eddneton94 Well, think of it this way: 99% of Imperial Guard commanders could be perfectly competent, 99% of the time the Adeptus Administratum and Adeptus Munitorum could get everything together and get the equipment where it's needed, 99% of the time the Imperial Navy could be there in appropriate force to support ground operations, and 99% of the time the Adeptus Astartes could work alongside local forces to support them and achieve objectives complimentary to theirs. Even if this 99% degree of appropriate support and adequate preparation was upheld across the Imperium, there would still be thousands of worlds, trillions of people, and trillions of tons of equipment that were completely and utterly lost simply because of how many war fronts and how many conflicts the Imperium is in simultaneously. Even if everything was running at 99% efficacy, the number of accidents, losses, and mistimed orders would be so many that there would still be plenty to look at to justify a reputation for things going wrong. That's almost the perfect explanation of 40k in general: it's so big that in the end it doesn't matter how well one person does things, somewhere else just by sheer probability somebody is going to fuck it up.
TL;DR: The Galaxy is big, and even if 99% of the time everything went right that 1% of the time things went wrong would account for losses of manpower, equipment, and planets reaching well into the Trillions.

The followers of Nurgle are so unimaginative with their chemical weapons - sons and daughters of the Dark Prince know that bombarding mortal enemies with hallucinogenic gas is *vastly* more entertaining (the first army list ever for the Emperor's Children back in the 80s had hallucinogen grenades as standard equipment for every legionary unit)!
Chaos LSD is a little hard to procure in mass plus we'd have to keep the Slaaneshi worshippers from huffing it like a teenager with a spray paint can. And besides, the followers of papa Nurgle have access to all his horrifying variants of warp farts.
Ever played "Iron storm"? It has entertaining hallu grens as well. Annoying if you get into your own gas cloud and the enemy gets you but truly entertaining if used appropriate.

I gotta be honest, I don't wargame at all, nor am I an avid Warhammer enthusiast, I just never got into it, but I thoroughly enjoy getting to listen to these videos! Keep up the great work!

I’m not into the TT Warhammer (just not financially feasible for me) but I love some of the Video games and the Lore is so deep and grim dark that I’m absolutely in love with it... well enough box chatter from me. Woe Betide!
@@zachsmith1676 Allow me to recommend the two "Inquisitor Ravenor" Audiobooks followed by the Eisenhorn collection!
They are less "SPESSH MEHREENS! CHARGE!" in their structure and the writing tends to leave space for the reader/listener to get a view into the 40k world from a SLIGHTLY more "regular joe" perspective.
For instance; despite 40k being fanatically religious, gay people exist, they are known to the inqusition, and the planet did NOT get exterminatuse'd!
Its only mentioned in a total of two sentences and then it is glossed over, but the Ravenor books are quite interesting simply because of the tertiary lore deposits they contain, it is quite interesting to see how the author managed to actually make an interesting cast of characters that interact in a manner more entertaining and occasionally more logical fashion then the space marines in the horus heresy did
@@Elenrai so in a way it's similar to the trio of Remembrancers in the Thousand Sons HH Book? I ask cause i liked them, along with Magnus who i believe to be a true loving and caring father figure over his legion, as if they were literally a thousand sons of his.

Seems like the placement of the 1st LK where the 30th was, in a piecemeal fashion, is somewhat similar to what the British did during ww1 when rotating out units with “fresh” units. Essentially frontline troops would fight then once the second line troops arrived, the former first line troops would move to the rest area in the rear whilst those who were in the rest area move up to take the now vacant second line before they in time take the position of the first line.

TP3 seems to be more of a Area-denial weapon than a siege breaker.

No where near as much actual battle lore, wouldn't be the same quality as vraks. My guess is his next big lore thing will be Vilgus when that shit show is over.

I'd noticed lately how over the last few episodes the number of comments about how tough the Krieg Guards had gone down a fair bit. But they're back now.
I like how virtually any other mortal force in the galaxy would have just instantly shattered in the position the 19th Regiment was in. But the DKoK still made the God dammed death guard "bleed" for it.
If it wasnt for the fact they dont play well with others; you could put the krieg, catachans and cadians together on a campaign and nothing would stop them haha

My guess would be predecessor, though it would probably be useful as hell against a Tyranid position. My bet is the stockpiles are from the end of the Horus Heresy, when they were having to dig the Iron Warriors out of their forts around the Eye of Terror.
