You won't be disappointed-it's a great performance and a masterful film! Thank you for sharing that Jonanna. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Hope you have an awesome week!! 😊🌟
I haven’t seen this, but it sounds so close to the original novel Dracula by B. Stoker. I’ve always wondered why they couldn’t make a movie of such a well-crafted book…. Looks like someone may have achieved it.
Apart from Herzog's adaptation, which I think is brilliant, the only Dracula story I've seen which was both good and faithful to the book, was the BBC's 1970s version. That, of course, was when the BBC was good, not the sh*tshow it has become. I still have a soft spot for Hammer's films, though.
I’d give it 7.5 perhaps 8. It dragged a little in places but I was always riveted. I later watched the original and it was fun comparing the two. People have complained that Orlok looks different, but in this movie he's based on the look of Vlad the Impaler.
Thank you, George, I have been hoping you would review "Nosferatu." I have seen the ancient original (which is really good, actually), and the 1970s remake with Klaus Kinski. I will wait for this one to release on Blu ray, and expect it will be worth the wait. 😉
Ewwwww!!! I am ready to see this one. Your endorsement has convinced me, but I live alone on a secluded street so I think my power bill might very well triple in the coming weeks. As you said, I'll probably have every light on continuously. I'm scared already. Now, find out what you can about Del Toro's Frankenstein please sir.
We are saturated with direct comparisons to Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, who already has a cooking show. In addition, the Marchioness is half Nigerian. 😂😂😂
Thanks, George. Your recommendation is good enough for me. Finally, a movie I'd quite like to see. Maybe a little stylised for my liking, especially as I'm a big fan of Herzog's somewhat visceral version, but it still looks pretty good. I haven't seen a good movie in the cinema since Oppenheimer. I saw Napoleon but it was a load of bollox.
We watched it too - but I have to say, despite the film being entertaining, it is STILL A REMAKE. That's the part that irritates me. When will Hellywood finally have some more ORIGINAL ideas?
I liked it I gave it a 7.5 out of 10 performance masterpiece and style was great, best vampire movie in a while. Didn’t care for the character look and it could’ve been 15 mins shorter maybe thrown in a joke or two but as far as quality fantastic and no over abundance of cgi tone was spot on. With movies like morbius that make a joke of it this was refreshing.
I thought all the performances were good. I enjoyed that the woman turned out to the key to everything, the men were still trying to be protective husbands etc. I didn’t know the original ending and wasn’t expecting this ending. That last image was quite disturbing. I do hope Eggers only does this one remake.
I can find no better explanation than a feminist psychoanalysis of Depp's character than a comparison of the suicide of Ophelia in Hamlet and his contemplation of suicide: To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To die-to sleep, No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream-ay, there's the rub: For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause... (Shakespeare, Hamlet 3:1. 1-13), She wants total annihilation of two stars colliding, to totally go out of herself. Count Orlock's negative energy draws her like a moth to a flame, to perfectly blend the two lovers into a nihilism that is all-consuming.
Herzog's version is way better. Nepo baby Lily -Rose needs hair transplant and serious acting lessons. Isabel Adjani's beauty and performance are assets to the story while nepobaby's strange acting choices of face contortions are for the freak shows. Lily-Rose simply repells. This movie is barely tolerable.
You went a little over the top. It was good, but it wasn't a masterpiece. It was fine. I watched The Witch before this, and Eggers occult films are like a M Night Shyamalan film. Incredibly slow, lingers on shots far to long, and tries to build suspense off of nonsensical gotcha jump shots
I have never understood the hype Eggers gets. Yes, I do appreciate the raw authenticity of his films, but it always lacks true ENTERTAINMENT value for me. I have been bored to tears by his previous films (and yes, I am a huge fan of atmosphere and slow-burns), so I hope he doesn't fuck up this classic. I will not be watching this video for fear of spoilers, George, but I'll give it a like, of course!
I guess it's a taste thing. I thought Coppola's too often bordered on campy. Some great filming, but a click too far at times - for me anyway. Haven't seen this one yet. Either way, it's great to have true effort out there. Cheers.
This was over rated, saw it and it started strong but lost the plot for the middle 68% of the film. Could have cut 20 minutes off the film and lost nothing. 5.6/10 over all, 8.9/10 for the first third or it.
Awesome video GEORGE! Eggers always seems to be able to bring out the absolute best performances from his actors. It’s truly incredible.
I do not like horror movies, but this review makes me want to see this movie. I especially love a movie with spectacular actors. I’ll see this.
You won't be disappointed-it's a great performance and a masterful film! Thank you for sharing that Jonanna. Can’t wait to hear what you think of it. Hope you have an awesome week!! 😊🌟
@@jonanna1894 it's not that scary it's trilling and brilliant and emersive
Same here!
It's really good saw it yesterday
I am hype for this one, I'll need to see it quick in theater, cool that Lilly Rose is more than nepo!! Also love your way with words George !!hail!!
Thanks my friend. I was shocked to say the least at how amazing Lily Rose was. Have an awesome week Redfrenchmoon and a phenomenal 2025! 😊🎉
This film made me want to do something I haven't wanted to do in at least 20 years: Go to the cinema and watch it again the very next day.
❤😊THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRESENCE HERE WITH US RAIN OR SHINE.
The main thing that I noticed was that a modern movie set in 1800’s Germany and Romania actually contained only white people! It’s a miracle!
Sssh! 😂😂😂
Need to see this one. And I don't go to movies anymore---miss true creativity.
Thanks George❤
I went and saw this movie. Well made and pleasurable change from the rubbish churned out. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I almost missed the names at the end of your video - very well done - 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ikr?

❤😊GEORGE THE GIANT SLAYER IS SIMPLY THE BEST.
Great review...can't wait to see it
10 out of 10 - total bad ass movie
Thank you, George, I have been hoping you would review "Nosferatu."

❤😊GOOD DAY GEORGE AND FRIENDS.
Saw it yesterday, great movie. It is not for everyone, but i heartily recommend it.
And George truly does have a way with words:)
Thrilled you enjoyed it Johan! 😄 Thank you for your very kind compliment. Hope you have a phenomenal week!! 😊🌟
Great review George! I loved the movie.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Glad you loved the film too!😊

The most memorable moments for me is Thomas’ terrifying reactions to the Count
I saw the movie and liked it.
Great review of it George, and I agree with it.

What? Just because hollywood has this vampire movie, two Frankenstein and a werewolf movie coming out, doesn't mean they're out of original ideas.
It’s nothing we haven’t seen a dozen times before, still quite good though
In Nosferatu, the moral of the story is...never marry crazy.
I liked it I gave it a 7.5 out of 10 performance masterpiece and style was great, best vampire movie in a while. nice
So they’re making movies again

Will you be covering Meghan’s latest failure and tantrums?
Please!!
Good movie, but nothing beats Gary Oldman in Count Dracula.
Gary Oldman was fabulous as Count Dracula. 😊

Nope it’s actually the worst horror movie ever made!
Why?
A modern masterpiece!
Mediocre at best😢
You went a little over the top. It was good, but it wasn't a masterpiece. It was fine. I watched The Witch before this, and Eggers occult films are like a M Night Shyamalan film. Incredibly slow, lingers on shots far to long, and tries to build suspense off of nonsensical gotcha jump shots

Best horror movie of the year? Best MOVIE of the year! More like YESFERATU.
we laughed out loud at certain points, some of THE worst acting ive seen, its like I watched a different film to you
I only give it 5/10. Long and tedious. I've seen better vampire movies, including Coppola's Dracula.
I guess it's a taste thing. I thought Coppola's too often bordered on campy. Some great filming, but a click too far at times - for me anyway. Haven't seen this one yet. Either way, it's great to have true effort out there. Cheers.
I give it an 8 put of 10
I soooo want to watch this movie but I haven’t had the opportunity yet!🫠
