- SHOULD YOU PUT A 5 WOOD OR 3 HYBRID IN THE BAG?
Many golfers can't decide wether to use a 5 wood or 3 hybrid, in this video Ali will help you understand the differences and which club will suit what type of golfer to help you make the correct decision. - Спорт
The problem with all those UI vs. Hybrid vs. Fairway Wood comparison tests are, that they are all played off short grass or matts. But out on the course I find my drives often in the rough. To me Fairway woods are terrible to play out of rough, because the just easily get stuck.
My opinion remains: I think hybrids are the best invention for most common golfers in the 21. Century.
Well said.. I have way more control with hybrids. More comfortable hitting them.
With 8 to 10 yards difference in distance. I’d choose hybrid all day for consistency as I’m pretty consistent with my long irons.
Missed the main reason for choosing the hybrid: how it performs in the rough. If you rarely hit in the rough the 5 wood my be a better choice. However, if you play courses with lots of rough the hybrid is the better choice.
It depends on the golfer. For most golfers, using a hybrid out of the rough isn't an easy task. In most situations a golfer will probably opt for a 6, 7, 8 or 9 iron to hit out of the rough
Whether to carry a 5 wood or 3 hybrid? Hybrid for me, but in my case a 2 hybrid 18*. I am a 63-year-old male, near scratch golfer. I carry in my bag: 4 wedges (58*/75yds, 54*/85yds, 50*/95yds, 47*/103yds), 2 putters, and both a 10* and 11.5* drivers. The remaining 14 clubs are hybrids (40*/115yds, 36*/125yds, 30*/140yds, 27*/155yds, 24*/170yds, and 18*/190yds). Off the tee, I can hit the 18 degree 2 hybrid 200+ yards which is plenty of distance from the senior or men's tees for a layup to a creek or fairway bunkers, and it is plenty of club to reach the longest of par 3's even hitting into the wind. On a 2nd shot into a long par 4 or short par 5, guarded by water or bunkers, I layup well short of the green and count on my wedge game and putting to get myself that birdie or par, instead of risking getting the bogey or double bogey by going for the green on the 2nd shot. I don't just pull out the 24*/170yds or 18*/190yds hybrid and hit as far as I can towards the green. That's what you do when you are young and foolish and want to be a hero at the expense of lowering your 18-hole score. Get the steady boring pars with the occasional birdie. Eagles are a rare commodity. Only get them by playing it smart and cautious, not playing the hero (fool).
Pulled the 5 wood, 4 iron and 5 iron out and replaced with 3, 4, and 5 hybrids. So now, I get similar and consistent trajectories. 5 wood too high and long irons too low me.
Purely personal choice, I think irons are easier to shape
And as I found out recently, different club manufacturers of hybrids place the weight in different places. Titleist and Callaway place the weight toward the front for more distance but the sacrifice is dispersion. Ping (G410) and Cobra (F9) place the weight far back for more control at the sacrifice of a few yards. Your pick.
5 wood went in the bag fairly recent, always used a 2 or 3 hybrid but wanted more height and similar distances so I elected to stick a 5 wood in the bag...
Great video! I carry both. I use the fairway wood on clean lies, and the hybrid out of the rough.
Enjoyed your video. You have a great swing. I carry a 3 Wood (15 degrees), 5 Wood (19) and a 4 Hybrid (22). I'm a senior golfer, so I think I hit the 5 wood better than the 3 wood because of my club speed, or lack of. I've started driving with my 5 wood, can get it out there anywhere from 180 to 200. Hit my 4 hybrid from 150 to 165. Depends on the day. I've almost given up on the driver. The shaft is SO long and I can't hit it much farther than my 5 wood. And I find the fairway much more often with the 5 wood.
I’m in a similar situation (60 year old 7 handicap). Take a look at the Taylormade Mini Driver 300. Slightly shorter shaft and definitely smaller head than standard modern drivers.
I chopped my driver down to 42 inches and put some lead tape on head to help swing weight and it hoes just as far and way more accurate
Great video. I currently carry a 3W & 5W but am thinking about redoing the middle part of my bag, as I've recently been more consistent with Driver, I dont use 3W anymore because I hit 5W better off the deck. I've thought about getting a 4 & 5 hybrid, not too good with longer irons.
I rarely use my 5w and decided to replace it with a 3H. I use it at least twice as much now.
Excellent video and good information. I will reassess why I carry both. I am more comfortable and confident standing over the ball in the FW or off the tee with the hybrid. I carry the Taylor Made Rescue 3 as my hybrid and my 5W is an Adams. Not as confident with the 5W.
I carry both. I get 15 more yards out of the hybrid and can gap at 215 200 190 with 5w 3h 4h.
Fair comparison however all off a mat. I prefer 5 wood off tee and nice fairways but hybrid or long iron for rougher, longer grass or shaping. I carry 3W, 3H and 3i but do like taking the 5w to the range...
I’ve been carrying a M3 2 hybrid but rarely use it because I struggle to get the speed / height. Just bought a 5 wood (similar loft) so I’m keen to get out with it and see if it helps.
Thanks. Great video. I also carry 3 hybrid and 17 degree wood.
I carry a 5 wood @18 deg and a 4 hybrid @ deg 21. Not much difference between my 3 and 5 wood but my 5 is easier off the deck. Longest iron is 5.
I’m similar to you John. I don’t have a 3 wood and have a 19* 5 wood and a 4Hy at 21*.. I trust the 4 hybrid in any lie and the 5w is my off the tee or off a good, flat lie on long par 5s. 5 iron is my longest iron.
Carrying a 5w lofted down to 16.5 degrees and a 3 hybrid lofted up to 20 degrees. Trackman can be deceiving but definitely 5w produces a higher ball flight with softer landing vs 3 hybrid with lower trajectory. There will be times where a certain ball flight is favourable, either off the tee or otherwise, that’s why I like both in the bag
Currently plan to buy Mizuno 5 wood. I prefer to see higher peaks in the ball flight. Also I have the 5, 6, 7 hybrid then the 6-PW irons. Happy with my spacing in terms of loft.
Amateur mid Handicap- I don’t use 4,3 irons. I use a 4 hybrid for long irons and 5 wood for long fairway.
Ive got a Ping G425 19 hybrid with an inch longer shaft, mainly to lift the toe as Im quite tall but also to help with yardage. Recently stuck it 260 yards into a par 5 (it was a bit downhill).
I play a 19* 5 wood and a 21* 3 hybrid. They go somewhat similar distances but in different ways. If I have a 210 yard carry I need to make its 5 wood. I hit my 3 hybrid anywhere between 185-210 depending on the conditions. Gonna do some testing though to see if I can get one club to do both. Going to replace my 5 iron with a TS2 27* as if I hit it well it carries 170-175 but I dont hit it well as often as I like so I find myself smooth cutting a hybrid more than I should.
I was a big believer in a two-hybrid setup (3h, 4h), and then I hit my friend's Epic Flash 5 wood. Huge difference in launch, peak height, and landing angle. Wasn't even close. Now that I'm playing longer courses that are pretty soft (Vancouver, BC), it's important to have that launch and landing angle for long par 3s and shorter par 4s off the tee. Looking to swap out my 3h for a 5 wood now, but I'm keeping my 4 hybrid set at 21 deg since that still goes plenty high.
I’m a 2 hybrid player right now thinking of possibly swapping out for a 5 wood
Great comparison Ali and many thanks. Which one is easier to hit for an 18 hcp?
Best answer: use the club that gives YOU consistency. Simple as that. It's not about what someone else tells you from perfect lie tests like this. Practice with both of them from the tee, fairway, rough and than chose what YOU prefer.
Great video. I think something gets lost in these comparisons however. For my long shots when I duff off the tee which is more often than I would like to admit my 3 wood is the go to club. I carry the 5 wood because it has the same sweeping motion and will hit it out of the rough over the 3. If its not an iron I need at least two similar clubs for consistency? IF its really screwed I'll hit the 4 HY long or a wedge to get back on the fairway. In a similar lie my friend will pull out a 1 or 2 iron and nail it and piss me off. That being said you should probably send me that 3 HY so I can test it out myself. :)
Ali it seems that you look for ball before contact. If I look up that soon I lift my head and top the ball. I guess your constant practice allows this good contact. Enjoy the videos. Going to try the 5w for the increased ball height for green stop. Thanks
The way I approach it is I need to consider where I’ll be hitting these clubs from most of the time. I have a 5 wood and a 3 hybrid and go back and forth on which I carry. While the 5 wood is going to go farther and land softer, I’m hitting long yardages out of rough and semi-rough more often than the middle of the fairway, which is better suited for the hybrid. So, I’m willing to sacrifice a little distance if I’m able to use the club in unfavorable lies vs. having to use a shorter club just to get out.
I usually use a 5w but I feel it's quite hard to control the ball & strike due to the length & size of the club head. Just got myself a hybrid & instantly I'm more confident with the length & how it feels more like an iron...also I have the added benefit of it getting through the rough better if needs be.
I lofted up a 2 hybrid.
I personally have a 5-wood and a 3-hybrid, as I grow older going into the 50's soon. I used to be able to hit a 5-wood out of rough and I depend on my 3-hybrid out of rough now helped me to carry as far as my 5-wood used to be. The ball flight has changed drastically for my game learned how to be able to hit it around the green and rely on my wedges and putting game. Generally speaking about hitting out of the rough.
Hybrids have never been my friend I now use a custom five wood from KZG and I go from there to a 20° number three strict on ZX3 utility iron I find this gives me a good gap and utility iron it’s very easy to hit
I have been trying to decide between 3 wood/5wood for a few months now. I think i'll probably end up going with the 5 wood after watching this and your 7 wood video. Sure the 3 wood would give a few extra yards - but i dont NEED them. I'll give up yardage for a bit of ease/forgiveness in this club range every day. I think a lot of people just want to hit a 3 wood because thats what pros do and thats what they read - but i think 5 wood probably suits way more average golfers. Great vid - thanks for such a great review.
@Les Moore cobra f9 5 wood (technically 5-6 wood since it had the adjustable hosel) is what i ended up with - and it is certainly my favorite and best club at the moment
I have a full set of Taylor Made M6 irons, but I use my full set of 3 thru PW Hybrids. I also carry my Sim2 Max 5 wood but no 3 wood. I'd like to see a test of all hybrids to see what a better low handicap golfer thinks of them. I tend to hit the ball high, losing distance sometimes, so I use my long hybrids more often than my 5 wood.
I have a 3h, I carry my 4h the same distance, could do with a 5 Wood to get the ball up in the air.
I just took out my 5 wood and replaced with a 3 hybrid. Only 1 degree high loft on the 3h. So so far so good. Might be a bit easier to hit for me. Wondering what the distance difference is?
I carry both a 5-wood and a 3-hybrid. I used to only carry the 5-wood and liked it for 2nd shots on par-5's, but I also liked it off the tee on narrow fairways. Much more consistent (straighter) than driver. But I would occasionally hit the 5-wood low on the face and sometimes had trouble squaring the clubface off the deck (low slice right). I added the 3-hybrid because I hit the 4- and 5-hybrid so well. I am now leaning more on the 3-hybrid (maybe not as long as the 5-wood, but good distance and less mishits). Love this thread. Guys tease me for so many woods and hybrids in my bag, until I hit them.
Reading the comments a lot of guys talk about getting out of the rough using either fairway woods or hybrids it has been my experience that using a wedge or a short iron back onto the fairway tends to cost one stroke not three or four
After my 5 iron I have 5 hybrid, 3 hybrid, 3 wood and driver. Been loving it
Just ordered an Adam’s Tight Lies 5 wood. Hopefully will help. I have an old Nickent 3 hybrid but do not hit it well.
@AliTaylorGolf The obvious answer to the point you raise about controlling the 5Wood with the longer shaft is to cut the shaft's length! I play a 5 Wood cut down to 41" (from standard 43"). It makes ALL the difference in the world and I now I get the benefit of high launch, steep landing angle and it's dead easy to control. Replaces my 3 hybrid that doesn't go as far and isn't as forgiving.
Took out 3 iron and 5 wood, replaced with 3 hybrid and an extra wedge. Hybrid more accurate and better out of rough.
Robert Brown This is the key thing that seems to get overlooked, hitting out of the rough. Most people need this club after shanking a tee shot and needing to hit a long shot from the rough. Now I don’t know what’s better, it’s all personal preference, but hitting from the rough should be a huge consideration for that just over 200 yard club.
What kinda wedge did you add? I’ve been using my 3 hybrid more and love the results on the courses I play regularly
I personally like a 3 hybrid better , I rather have wedges personally
I carry a 5 wood, playoff of 6. I find the 5 wood is much straighter and higher. Use it for par 5's mainly. I hate hybrids so I am a bit bias.
Different clubs for different circumstances. I use both a 5w and 4h. The 5w for long par3 or getting to a par 5 in 2. 4h for a lie in the rough or just advance the ball for anout 160m. I can't control distance with my 4h.
I carry a game improvement 3 iron and a 2 hybrid. The hybrid carries about 8 to 10 yards father than the 3 iron.
Great video Ali. I have a Rogue 18-degree 3-hybrid that I use on short par-4 tee shots and on 2nd shots to par-5’s. Also have an Epic SZ 3-wood for the same purpose when lie is good. Feels a bit redundant. Both clubs are in a “time out” right now due to inconsistency (not the club’s fault I assure you 🥴). Plan to work with my PGA of Canada pro to find the right set up. Thinking of moving to a 4-wood and 4-hybrid. I carry my 4-iron 190 and my current 3-hybrid 215-220 so feel the 4-hybrid might be better for gapping. I think 4-wood would give me a bit more pop off the tee than 5-wood on those tighter holes. My current index is 5.4. Driver swing speed 97. Any thoughts?
I carry a steel shafted 3hy and a graphite shallow face 5 wood, both 19°. I use the 3 in rougher grass or uneven terrain, and the 5 on a fairway hit. Both send the ball differently, the 3 really gets it up and the 5 powers it low and straight and is very easy to hit.
I carry both. The wood goes longer so they both have a role in my bag. I never saw them as equivalent
Bob Guerrero same mate
It's my flex or 14th club. Every other club has a guaranteed spot. So this is helpful
SuperTrader Mikey Cbx Exotics 3 wood. I was in the same boat, but I can just hit that thing. That or try a two iron crossover type club, but the D-3w-3i combo has been the solution to my long, long journey of what to play between driver and four iron.
Took out the 4 iron, converted the 3 hybrid to a 4, and put the 5 wood back in. More versatility all around and higher ball flight. The only thing I miss is the low running punch out of trees with the 4 iron.
That's what I was hesitant about with removing my 4iron
same thought here, but I would use a hooded 3 iron back in the day. a friend said that you could do the same with a hybrid and today i saw a guy on the champions tour hit one 220 on the ground our of the trees with a hybrid.
Both?? I have my 5w delofted a degree to 17 degrees and a 3H at a normal 19 degrees. I have dropped the 3w from the bag. In my hands the 5w has the higher ball flight, the 3H more penetrating flight. 5w is roughly 10 yards further for me.
Hi Ali, which club would you rather play in 1st cut or second cut of fairway. Would the larger size of FW cause problems in longer grass? Also would spin drop for the FW? I currently have a Mizuno CLK 4 hybrid, which I like, but admit I like the larger appearance of a 7 FW.
I actually just got a new set and carry both. I could put the 5 wood away and use the 3 wood instead. I am 63 and only have 85 MPH driver speed maybe 220. I have 3 thru 6 hybrids. Trying to figure out which to choose.
I was thinking both
Both. My ping 410 5 wood is 17.5 and hits 235 off the tee and 220 off the deck straight off fairways, tricky out of rough and bad lies. My 5 iron is 23.5 degrees and goes 190-195. Leaves me a gap of 195-220 - enter the 19 degree 3 hybrid arriving tonight! 3 hybrid is adjustable and I expect to uploft it .5 - 1 degree.
My yardages and lofts are basically identical. I added two clubs in that area and dropped a wedge to make room. I play a 20.5 hybrid, a 19-degree hybrid, and an 18-degree 5 wood - these give me many different trajectories and curvatures between 195-235. Since this is the hardest area in the bag, I find it best for my game to have as many tools as possible. I'm a six handicap and will generally play tees in the 6600-6800 range and I find these yardages come up all the time.
I can answer the main question. Yes, you can use a 5 wood instead of a 3 hybrid. If you have a lot of deep rough keep a hybrid in the bag. If you are like me and play a lot of desert courses get rid of the hybrids.
Jaime Mantel Thx. That‘s exactly my opinion as well.
I actually carry a Ping 5 wood and a # 2 and #3 Ping hybrid. I like choices. :)
I have a 2 hybrid and a 5 wood. It's easier to take distance off my 5 wood than add distance to my hybrid. This is my first hybrid and I need to practice more with it. But I can dial my 5 wood from 190-240. The length of the hybrid shaft seems awkward.
5 would much easier to hit better ball flight. I have trouble getting 3 hybrid up in air but it will roll out to about 220-230 if struck well. My 5 wood only goes 200-210 but much higher flight.
I use 17.5 Ping 425 5 wood 225-230 yd , Cobra 19 RadSpeed 3 Hybrid 210-220Yd and Cobra 22.5 LTDx 7 Wood 195-210Yd
Good video as I enjoyed the comparison.
I have a Cobra F8 5-6 wood set at 19. I have a M2 hybrid at 22. Very different shafts! Cobra has a Fujikura in a SR flex and the hybrid an Oban "Green" in R flex. I use the Cobra when I need high and stop. The hybrid when I need a "runner", although I did hit the hybrid pretty high on a par-5 to save par after a bad tee shot into the hazard. Thinking about a 3-hybrid with the same Oban shaft. BTW, I play off a 14 and 60 y.o.
3wood, 7wood, 3R hybrid :)
I play a TS3 3 wood 14.25* and hit it 275 carry distance. I have a 4 iron 1* strong which I hit so good 240 carry distance and the hybrid almost the same! 18* H1 and I need to hit 255 yds so I don’t know what to do. Thanks
I have an M4 3 wood and M4 3 and 4 hybrids. I was very pleased with my 3 wood distance and consistency off the tee compared with my M3 driver so I bought the matching 5 wood thinking it would be quite a bit longer than my 3 hybrid, but it's not so currently I've got the 3 hybrid in my bag as I find it easier to hit and a bit less destructive on poor hits. I usually use my 3 hybrid on 2nd shots on par 5's and long par 4's and only use my 3 wood off the tee where I either don't need my driver or have a tight tee shot/my driver is not going straight ( I'm off 11 and my poor shot is usually a push) All my M4s have the atmos series stiff shafts and my M3 driver has the tensi blue stiff. I hit the ball quite high anyway so my hybrids go quite high too. I'd be interested to know what you think.
I was reading your post and i play the exact clubs you do in those situations but different brand i was doing the same thing with my driver until i shortened the shaft i am 5 ft 8 not sure why they didnt pick that up on my first driver fitting went to different place because i was having so much trouble right off the bat he told me my shaft was to long anyway i am hitting it straight and more distance no slicing hooking or off the toe crap more comfortable with my driver now especially on par 5's tried the 5 wood good results not great my 3 hybrid really out performed it (shorter shaft) we all are different height whatever as i watch these videos i have to keep that in mind for me shorter shafts work for other's may not thats why i tell my friends before you buy because of these videos get fitted will save you alot of heartache and some balls Lol have a great day
@@mack042 Thanks so much for the reply. This would explain a lot as years ago I had a custom fitting from a top guy but he was miles away from me and expensive and that has a shorter shaft. I actually put this driver together myself after an even poorer fitting by a well know national retailer who fitted me with a way too lofted head and too light a shaft that on course was a complete disaster. My current M3 works very well when I'm swinging nicely and isn't as destructive as either the M3 I was fitted for above or an M4 I tried out after so in it's current state I don't think it's a million miles away and I'm not spending circa £450 to try again!. I'm 5'7 so could I ask how much shorter did you make your driver and how did you do this with what tools as I've never cut a graphite shaft down before. I'm well versed with changing grips so if it's just a case of cutting a bit off the butt with tool? then I might just give that a go.
@@Bazza47 I'm 5"8" and from my research 44.5" driver length is the correct fitting length for my height. I've always used 45". And I had no issues to be honest. But I just bought a new m2 9.5 degree with a black tie xflex cut at 44.5 and I must say. I have more control with this slightly shorter shaft. My old r11s was 45" with a black tie xflex. So the comparison was close. And I can see the difference. . . Anywho. Hope this helps.
I carry an M6 3 wood in 15 degrees and an M6 3 Hybrid in 19 degrees.
I do quick lessons with friends “cutting grass” in my overgrown lawn with the Tri-brid. If you can’t land in the fairway either fix your drive or pack a lawnmower lol
Driver,3w,5w,4hybrid,5hybrid,3,4,5,6,7,pw,54wedge,46wedge,putter.i have a mixed bag,Titleist, taylomade, callaway, srixon, ping.i just test what works for me and put it in my bag.not all clubs perform the same
I carry a 4 iron and a 5 wood. I hit both equally long but with higher peak with the wood. I have nothing between driver and these. Watching this video to get input.
Hitting golf balls indoor is quite different than in the rough or with a bad lie. To make an honest comparaison you should hit both outside, on a golf course. And no doubt hybrides are a better choice more often than not.
I'm leaning towards 5wood, i can't stand hybrids. Since i got my 5w I've been nailing every shot. My goal is to avoid irons unless i hit rough.
I am thinking of changing my 5 iron to a hybrid but not sure what hybrid to get to replace this.
Help
Why not both? My 18° 5 wood with a 42" playing length goes 215 yards. My 19° 3 hybrid with a 40" playing length goes 200 yards. A 3 hybrid would compare better to a 7 wood considering fairways have longer shafts.
I go 4 wood / 7 wood
If it works 👍
3 hybrid in the bag as it is straighter than the 5 wood and less influenced by the wind.
Love my 18 degree 5 wood. Don’t hold with hybrids. Don’t feel good to me.
Got to use what works best.
I am mostly desert if I am not fairway (high desert CA, not much rough). I play Driver, 3 wood, 4 hybrid then irons and 4 wedges. Pending course, I remove the 60°, for a POS old 5 iron just to hit hard desert rocks/debris with no consequences to my main clubs.
Hole 3 at Green Tree golf course always use my fairway wood 3.
@@David.lovesU Green Tree is on my list of courses to play in SoCal.
I could never get on with either but then I bought a taylormade m6 3 hybrid with a stiff shaft and just recently have started to hit it well. I was wondering though whether to get the 4 hybrid aswell but don't know whether the distances will be gapped enough. I'm only hitting the 3 hybrid around 190 yards and my last 5 iron about 170, so is it worth it ?
My 4 iron is 20.5 and I can crank it alright. I keep a 3h (19) in the bag for the nasty rough i can't use my 4i in but I'm not consistent with it. Also i cant hit my 3 wood(14.5) to save my life.
I use a 17 degree 4 wood and a 19 degree single length Hybrid. The 4W flight isn't quite as high as the 5W. I am getting 10 m further carry with the 4W , but the Hybrid is far more reliable if the lie is poor/ uneven/ sloped.
Sounds like you've got your bag sorted!!
Which ones better if i top it and hit off the toe?
I had Taylor Made Burners 1,3,5 for years. My new clubs are Taylor Made RZ no woods with 3.4 hybrids. I have much more control with the hybrids and they are more useful in difficult situations than long irons. As they were originally designed as Rescue clubs. I will never go back to woods. Thanks off the comparison video.
I carry both.
Perfect, hope you're playing well.
Somebody please tell me why we can’t have a 5 wood head on a 5 hybrid shaft length
For me a hit a hybrid much much better than a 5 wood
Hi Alistair. As you know, I carry Driver, 2-Hybrid at 17 degrees and 3-Hybrid at 19 degrees. Having seen this (intriguing) video, maybe I should try out a 3-wood and 5- wood on the range this Thursday ? Having a TORRID time with driver by the way.... Cheers, yet another good vid. Chris.
We’ll get you sorted on Thursday
5 wood rules for me. So much easier and forgiving than anything else I've hit for that distance (210-230 yards), I'm looking to build a 7 wood to replace my 3 iron, and maybe a 9 wood in exchange for my 5 iron. Softer landing and I think way more forgiving to hit well, yet I can still knock it down low when needed.
Great video. Use a 5w at the mo. Hit it well of the tee. Should i try a 7 w to replace my 22 hybrid as don’t hit that as well as the 5 wood ?
+David Bartlett Absolutely
5 wood replaces the 2 iron, 7 wood replaces the 3 iron and so on
What do you hit out of the rough?
@@kevinvassago hybrids normally, 7 wood is alright out of light rough
Great content but I wish you could either slow down the swing or bring in a mid handicapper with 90mph swing. Otherwise not much useful.
Hit both clubs from a divot or a bit of rough, thats where the biggest difference will show!
✊
Neither. 1i, 2i, 3i for me :D
What all these tests don't do is compare to the average 15-20 handicapper. Let's see those results with a slower swing speed
Ping 2 hybrid = 240, 250 yards
I cut an inch off my 22-degree hybrid and hit it like a 7 iron and get 200 yards down the middle 90% of the time
I have a cheap 3h and 5h. I should spend a little money and buy something better. Let's not blame my swing k
No one ever has an issue hitting either off mats. Get some on course squirrelly lies and then do your video
I see a lot of people struggle to hit off the mats lol
Besides, he’s comparing clubs so needs to make sure there’s no variables.
Game on then. Mats tell no lies ha ha
Game on then... mats tell no lies 😁
7 wood for days
Hybrid number 3 more consistent, solid trajectory against the wind and reduce the dispersion. I tried 5 wood for me good club on the tee but my iron 4 give me a straight trajectory better with tricky fairway.
I replaced my 3-7 irons with the new Ping G425 hybrids. Not sure about other brands, but with Ping, the 3 hybrid replaces the 3 iron and the 7 wood, not the 5 wood. Their 2 hybrid replaces the 5 wood.
