Jimmy was trying to get as much FM radio airplay as possible (FM being a relatively new radio format in 1969). He deliberately overlapped the front and back of tracks so that they bled into each other, hoping that DJ's would play both, accidentally. He also put very, very brief pauses between songs for the same reason. Jimmy was very calculating and brilliant, and everything had a plan.
@@bobscott7440 Jimmy understood the recording industry at every phase and every detail. He was perfectly positioned to create LZ, and he used every tool in his toolbox to make them great.
Thanks Misty👍. So far I do think the acoustic ones resonate with me (excuse the pun) but I'm still enjoying their heavier songs too. It's great to hear their diversity ✌️🎶🎸
TBH, I can't pick an absolute favorite Zeppelin song. The best I can do is to say, "these songs are number one on my list, these come in at number two". Well, OK, there are some that come in at number three, but not many. lol I will say that I was pleased to hear that you enjoyed "Black Mountain Side". I like it as well but some folks aren't all that crazy about it. Zeppelin would often play it together with another instrumental, "White Summer", during early concerts. It isn't on any of their 8 studio albums but if you want to hear it, it does appear on "Coda", a compilation album of unused tracks that was released in 1982, two years after they disbanded when Bonham passed away. Enjoyed your reaction and looking forward to the next!
When it comes to opinions of Led Zeppelin songs you just do you man Led Zeppelin is a spiritual musical journey for us old Gen Xers. I just love getting home from a long day in the factory and token up some medical cannabis and listening to Led Zeppelin reactions. ❤
I think the fact they are so diverse means (at least to me at moment) there's a style of music for everyone 👍. I've liked them all so far and can't wait to see how they progress 🤘✌️
Zeppelin were innovators and did a lot of unexpected sh*t that not everyone dug at the time or even now. Music is art after all. The thing I admire most about them is how they complement and encourage each other, and the end result for me is linked to my emotions. Keep going, there is a lot more to discover. Loving the honest reactions brother 👌🎶
I loved watching you react to these songs, I really had a feeling this was the side of zep you were going to like most. Black mountain side is really a shortened version of White Summer. PLEASE,PLEASE Try to react to jimmy playing this on the "Julie Felix Show, 1970 Jimmy Page White Summer" I think it's 5 minutes long( it's not on any of the albums they put out while together) the visual is crappy, but the sound is good. You will really like it ! (There is a 12 min. Version 1970 with bonham on drums at royal albert hall, but has a better chance of getting blocked) He is introduced by julie and it's just jimmy. Durning The song your time is going to come , I love after Robert says "it's my turn to cry" and Jimmy's guitar crys !! Then jimmy does the crying guitar during the rest of the song. Jimmy got so much better at the sitar sound and learned to play one after a bit. The Beatles hired a players. ( I love the Beatles, please don't take that the wrong way) It's just zep never needed to hire anyone else because everyone was gifted at playing whatever was needed. Mandolins, any keys, harmonica, sitar, even a banjo in one song. I don't believe there is a category of music that zep didn't cover. Robert even goes into a little bit of rapping sound on a song on LP II ( album 2) Jimmy wanted 4 equal players from the get go. He wanted people to hear jpj just as much as Robert or bonham , during almost every song you can hear just what each member is doing ( We had really good headphones back in the day, and you will hear what I mean if you get a pair, I believe) Jimmy released every album in stereo sound. He wanted the best sound from the beginning. My parents had a private plane, and so did one of my other friend's father. I really didn't at the time realize how lucky I was to be able to fly wherever I wanted with are group of 8 close friends, to great concerts. And overseas. The funny thing was, the pilots were suppose to be watching after us. Lol Thank you for keeping up with the zeppelin. And like always, I'm sorry I wrote so much, I'm just so passionate about zeppelin !!!!!!!
Ok Limey you drive on the wrong side of the road, and you track on the wrong side of Black Mountain Side...It's BMS...Communication Breakdown here in the states....Know It, Learn It, Live It!
Never apologize for trying to pick a favorite Zeppelin song, it's an almost impossible task.
Thanks. I'm sure my favourite song/songs will keep changing as I go through the album's👍🎶
Can't play Your Time Is Gonna Come without following it with Black Mountain Side.
This album...like all of them...is fire!
I'm looking forward to rest of it👍🎶
