It is important to have some basic tactics in mind when you step on court, or else you are at the mercy of your opponent and then just can play a reactive game dictated by them. You need to watch your opponent closely. Try paying attention to what they are doing. You also need to build rallies by hitting the ball straight and deep often and pinning your opponent behind you and you control the middle T area.

As a newer player, it’s hard to remember to return to the T and watch your opponent but it’s vital. Thanks for the advice and tips!

great tips. Kind of a newbie myself but I can appreciate the importance of the volley. I should see it as a combo, where the more you keep doing it in a row, the more you exhaust your opponent' s reaction capacity

Boy that comment about the ball was spot on. It is such a better game I& you play with the single dot ball, unless you’re a very high standard player, like 5.5. You get a game that’s much closer to the pro game than the dead ball squash you usually see club players play.
Regarding the first comment, about watching your opponent, when you get to be more proficient, you realize you’re opponent is watching and anticipating you, and a great skill to have is to be able to play more than one shot from any set up you choose. For example, if you line up to play a cross court, practice hitting rails from that set up, or line up to play a rail and play a cross court. This is an advanced skill, but if you watch the pros, you’ll see they’re good at that, and a sign of the elite pros (like Farag) is they’re both extremely good at reading their opponent, while keeping their own options for shots open, even while under pressure.

I thought the single dot ball was a high altitude pro ball (according to Dunlop and my squash club)

Thats the green dot ball. Thats a special case ball for high altitudes - assuming you are from Joburg/Pretoria. Normal altitude is double yellow.

We play with green dot ball in our club, i don’t know if this is correct, we live at 2800 meters above sea level (Quito, Ecuador)

Most middle of the road club players should be using the single dot ball but none of them ever do. They won’t understand that at that level of play you get a more “correct” amount of bounce with how warm they will be able to get the ball to what the pros do when they use a double dot. This “it’s the wrong ball” mindset really needs to go

not sure who is this gentleman but this is all bla bla bla. He is certainly not an Egyptian or never saw near any top ranking player. For the new beginners, just practice yourself and if you are little bit clever, you will pick up lots of your own skills and thought process. Your body needs to move and function with your Squash Racket. so first find that balance and achieve any shot with good execution and be quick to be ready for the next one. .
