As usual I enjoyed & learned. I have to know is there any particular G.Anaesthetic suitable for Diabetic and Thyroid disease from Endocrine point of view. Which I/v infusion you prefer in diabetic N/S, Glucose insulin,(GI)Glucose potassium insulin (GKI) in surgery. You are a teacher. I show my respect to you. Best luck

why nitrous oxide can be used for both induction and maintenance keeping in mind its poor anesthetic activity
It can be one of many reasons
Firstly N20 has a low blood gas coefficient, so it will induce anesthesia quickly and the recovery from anesthesia is very quick as well. It is a big advantage because the patient will have no residual symptoms of anesthesia
Secondly, it is never used alone even for maintenance. It is used with more potent anesthetics and oxygen, the main property we want to use is the induction.
Thirdly, it has excellent analgesic properties and that is another reason why it’s used to cause partial sedation but great analgesia in dental patients for small procedures
The purpose of saying that it is used both for induction and maintenance is that is can be used in maintaining anesthetia during short procedures
