The ancient stone carved Kedareshwara Temple (also spelt "Kedaresvara" or "Kedareshvara") is a Hoysala era construction of historical importance, in the town of Halebidu, in Hassan district of Karnataka state, India. It is located a short distance away from the famous Hoysaleswara Temple. The temple was constructed by Hoysala King Veera Ballala II (1173-1220 A.D.) and his Queen Ketaladevi, and the main deity is Ishwara (another name for the Hindu god Shiva). The temple is a protected monument, of national importance under the Archaeological Survey of India. Kedareshwara temple, is dedicated to Shiva in the form of Kedareshwara.
The temple was constructed with Soap stone. The temple has four Star shaped pillars on either side of entrance. The Navaranga has four bell shaped pillars. The ceiling of the Navaranga Mantapa is well decorated. The outlay of the main shrine is star shaped (stellate) with two smaller shrines that have perforated windows (called Jali, literally, "sieve") on the sides. the Hoysala architects created repetitive decorative sculptures and reliefs called "architectural articulation". Since the temple has three shrines, it qualifies as a trikutachala, a three shrined structure.
Hassan is a town in the Indian state of Karnataka. Hassan is situated 980 m above sea level. It is named after the Hasanamba temple. Hassan is 183 kilometres from Bangalore, 119 kilometres from Mysore, and 171 kilometres from Mangalore. Hassan Tourism also offers many other famous Places to visit in Hassan such as the ancient stone carved temples of Hoysala empire, Veeranarayana Temple at Belavadi, Hoysaleswara temple, a 12th-century temple at Halebidu also known as Halebidu Temple , Chandragiri Hill, Manjarabad Fort, Bhagawan Bahubali Monolithic Idol , carved circa 981 A.D.at Shravanabelagola , Ishvara Temple of 1220 CE during the rule of Hoysala Empire at Arasikere , Paathaaleshwara Temple, Pushpagiri at Halebidu , Hulikere Tank and many more.

ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ನೋಡಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷ ಆಗ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ವೀಡಿಯೋ ನೋಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ಆಗ್ತಿದೆ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಬೇಸರ ದುಖಃ ವಾಗ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಂತೋಷ ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಎಲೆ ಮರೆ ಕಾಯಿ ಯಂತಿದ್ದ ಈ ಸುಂದರ ದೇವಾಲಯ ವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಆಚೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಇನ್ನು ಬೇಸರ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಹಳೇಬೀಡಿನ ಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಎಲೆ ಮರೆ ಕಾಯಿ ಯಂತೆ ಇದದ್ದು. ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರಿಗೂ ಈ ಕೇದಾರೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯ ದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಎಂತಹ ಸುಂದರ ವಾದ ಕೆತ್ತನೆಗಳು ಎಂದರೆ ಬಹಳ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಕೆತ್ತನೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಅಂತಾನೆ ಹೇಳ್ಬೇಕು. ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿನ್ನ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಬೇಸರ ತರಿಸು ವಂತದ್ದು. ಹಾಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಯವರೂ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆಯದೇ ಇರುವುದು ಕೂಡ ಬೇಸರ ವೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯ ಬಹಳ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಅವಿಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ದೇವಾಲಯ ವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಳೇಬೀಡಿನ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯ ದ ಬಳಿಯೇ ಇರುವ ಈ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅನಂತಾನಂತ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು. ಹ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಯೂ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಈ ಸಂಚಿಕೆ ಕೂಡ ಅದ್ಬುತ ಅಮೋಘ ಸುಂದರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶೇಷ ವಾಗಿದೆ. 👍👍👌👌🙏🙏🤝🤝 ಹಾ ಬೇಲೂರು ಹಳೇಬೀಡು ದೇವಾಲಯ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕೆತ್ತನೆ ಗಳು ಶಿಲ್ಪ ಗಳು ಬಹಳ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ವಾಗಿದೆ. 👌👌

The great king veerasimha ballala ruled up to sri kanchi in tamilnadu. He was shifted his capital city to kanchi and ruled 18 years I think till die I believe. He was said to be a very generous to poor peoples in tamilnadu and built the temples for sri arunachalaeswara at Thiruvanamalai and sri Mariamman temple at Samaiyapuram. He was earned good name in public used call him VALLAVARAYA . The folk songs on him still in villages of North Arcot , krishnagiri and dharmapuri districts. We should respect and remember the great king sri Narasimha Ballala alias sri vallavavarya and called him king vanavaraya at coimbatore district . He used gave one gram gold coin to everyone to public invited while coming on the way to tamilnadu
and donated lot of lands to poor peoples and gave aid to lot of temples in his region.he was married to the princes of chol dynasty and helped them against pandiya a in one battle but these allies defeated bh Sri Maravarma sundra pandiyan. The hoysala king had done marry her daughter to sri sundrapandian. I think one war against his son in law sundrapandian try to extended his territory near coimbatore in later days and stopped because of teased by their citizens I read.

Mr.sudeesh Thank you for nice information I found because of sri kedarnath I think we used to do one kedathari viratha that means fasting on next day of diwali celebration with disciplined way very much strict rules for goddess parvathi after pooja one tope would be given it is fairly contacted all karnataka telugu based families this is called big varatha and sri varalashmi pooja is small viratha . Today I found the source of sri kedarnath viratha.

You should go to northern Karnataka where you will find the temples of Hampi, temples of Aihole and Pattadakal as well as the tombs of Bijapur.

Pathetic job by the town not to highlight such a beautiful temple. Bigger problem is Karnataka tourism, it really falls on them to show all the temples on a map. Too many idiots running the show and hence people don’t know of such places.

It looks amazing and I wish it was open for people to see. Our backwards people and government can’t figure out a solution to open this temple. Really it’s sad that it is neglected, ASI has too many things on its plate. Locals need to figure out how to open this place to the public.
