    I still can't believe even these expensive calculators come in blister packages.

      Who cares what it comes in. If you can't cut a clamshell open, you need to rethink your life choices. It takes about 3 second with a knife or scissors.

      Its good for safety. The old packages were easy to steal so my old stationary shop kept losing them because people could easily open them. They would lock the packages down ofc but the unsecure packaging was a nightmare.

    This or the Casio with the large touch screen? Or just keep my TI-84 elementary grapher, and get an additional CAS app on my phone or something?

    I'VE JUST BOUGHT the TI CX II CAS. I should receive it tomorrow. I'm not sure if i should send it back and buy the HP PRIME G2 or not. I am a first year student at a Mathematics and Computer Science University. Can you please help me to have a final decision?
    Thanks!

    Can the touch be turned off?
    Also, can the backlight be turned off and is it then readable?
    Any comments about battery life?

    • @jack002tuber
      @jack002tuber 3 роки тому

      from my observations (I have the app for my phone and laptop, not the actual calculator) no, you can't turn off touchscreen or control the backlight. Seems to be readable, some claim the actual calc can be seen in direct sunlight

    • @joelfolkman
      @joelfolkman 2 роки тому

      Battery life is great (notice no lifespan difference between this and the TI N-spire). I got mine one ebay with no battery for cheap. It uses an old Samsung (Galaxy 4?) phone battery. As jack002tuber stated, Cannot turn off touch function or control backlight as far as I am aware. Interestingly enough, I believe the screen is installed upside down in the HP crime. Poor viewing angles when the calculator is in front of you, flat on the desk. Turn the calculator upside down and you are able to see the screen very clearly. Someone at HP dropped the ball here. Still my favorite calculator.

    • @salmiakki5638
      @salmiakki5638 4 роки тому +8

      Probably this one in the scheme of things that is able to do, that you can program for it, and it's processing power compared to the other offering

    • @MBJanus
      @MBJanus 4 роки тому +3

      @@salmiakki5638 I have a couple of HP Prime and of TI NSpire CAT2 too, the TI is a little slower but the apps are well integrated. The HP has a touch sensitive screen, but no heyboard, it has some bugs but the TI too. Actually the two calculators are good, the problem is to learn how to use them (the manuals do 500 pages for the TI and 600 for the HP..).

    • @salmiakki5638
      @salmiakki5638 4 роки тому +3

      @@MBJanus I have a ti nspire cas2-t aswell. But to me it's not anywhere close to the Casio. It's slower, both in software and hardware wise. And it's seems that is build with a different audience in mind. It more of a easing tool for lazy middle or high schooler than a tool someone doing engineering could benefit from. Things are not flexible, and both the default feature set and th programming capabilities are more limited. The lack of touch screen, the disgusting keyboard feel, and the hideous alphabetical keyboard (even tho the HP prime lacks one, have to admit) makes it not a purchase I would suggest.
      P.s. could you give me one ho your primes? Since I used a friend's one I really want one :P

    Thank you very much for the video! I have a question, what battery can I use as a replacement for this G2 model? I've been reading that samsung galaxy s3 battery can be use as a replacement but the battery of G2 is 2000mAh and the galaxy's 2100 mAh. Is this not going to cause a problem?

    • @bp6992
      @bp6992 3 роки тому +3

      No, it will not cause a problem. 2100mAh will actually let your calculator last a bit longer between charges. What you need to pay attention to is the output voltage. The output voltage of the replacement should be the same as the original battery, which should be written on the battery itself.

      In what ways do you believe the TI is better? -I have the TI N-spire CX and the HP Crime. I do believe the menu system can be more intuitive to use on the TI, and the screen on the HP is upside down... That being said, I haven't touched the TI since getting the HP.
