Copperhead in any other batman media:a guy in a snake costume. Copperhead in Arkham Origins:A lady able to extremely contort her body and is also from South America. Me:WHY WASN'T SOMEONE THAT COOL THE NORMAL COPPERHEAD?!
The male version is a legacy character who has been around since the late 60s. He's basically a C-lister who works as an assassin and/thief when going solo and hired-muscle when he's working for someone else. He's not a regular member of any hero's rogue's gallery.
Meanwhile the female version has so much rule 34 art ya wouldn't believe

Somewhere in the video game halls of fame, Plague Knight is juggling bombs.
I find it interesting you didn't actually discuss any of Hakkar's actual mechanics in his fight, besides that one corrupted blood.
Such as the fact that periodically, he would stun the entire raid and drink their blood, healing himself massively. However, if a player happened to be poisoned with the toxic blood of his off-spring, when he drinks from the raid, he gets damaged by that player instead of healing, requiring the entire raid to balance being Poisoned or not poisoned.
While focusing on the Plague incident itself is really cool, I feel using it as the only reason to justify his placing on the list defeats the point. As, the incident itself made the game unplayable for low level players who happened to be in the city at the time. If the boss makes the game unplayable, then that isn't a 'good boss fight.' I feel this actually detriments to the goal of the list, which was to show off great boss fights that used a poison mechanic, rather #1 merely being 'Haha, MMO plague goes brrr'
Agreed.
Poison Boss. Not Poison Boss Battle. Important distinction especially since it's the only one that had an effect outside of it's encounter
I'm lovin' these elemental countdowns you're doing. Elements of any kind have always interested me, even before the Last Airbender came around.
I know this isn't an Elemental suggestion, but I think a good boss category would be the Twist Boss- Bosses you honestly didn't see coming. Like that boss could have been an ally at first but turned out to be a foe?
I find it pretty humorous that a list about poison bosses with a batman game on it , doesn't have poison ivy .
Poison Ivy’s boss fights in the Arkham games aren’t that remarkable imo, so I’d say that Coppherhead more than deserves the spot instead. Though the irony is still amusing lol.
Ivy hardly ever uses posion in the Arkham series. She mostly uses her vines or mind control minions to fight Batman and Catwoman. Copperhead on the other hand pretty much drugs Batman with deadly haullunigetic posion which is why it's more fitting copperhead makes the list.
I think she'd be more at home on a Plant bosses list
You had the opportunity to say "all these squares make a circle" in your acid gag and you wasted it. I've never been so disappointed
I'm honestly surprised you put the Blood Plague in the list, but I'm glad you did. It's such an interesting topic. The fact that players behaved as people would in a real pandemic. There's a few people who think it should be brought back, but in secret. Just bring it back for a day and see what happens.
Well in real life it's less "spreading it in purpose" and more "denying that there's any illness at all even when thousands die around them".
Game theroy made a video on this months ago
the blood plague was a beautiful disaster for those who want a description of what went down: During the intial "outbreak" there were many.... factions as to what to do with the DoT as once it hit the major city it exponentially exploded in how many people got it (what's worse is NPCs could also catch the debuff but not die) so when it started the split of the player base turned into a war field.
There was the healers who tried to keep low level character alive (as if I recall if one dies with it the debuff explodes)
The neutral zoners who tried to set up safe zones for players to hide from the blood plague
Then finally there was the chaos faction who did nothing more than spread the plague as far as they could going into the raid and hiding their pet to go to certain areas to cause mass chaos (it got to the point that pet classes were straight up banned from entering the "neutral zones")
there is a 4th "faction" but that was just the people who literally refused to log in so not really relevant to the story at hand
Anyway thanks to this Epidemiologists got to see what would happen in real time what an outbreak would do as well this was a simulation with numbers floating by this was real people doing real things with a plague in game - this was real data that they could work with which is EXTREMELY rare because well you can't just randomly infect a community with a horrific bloodborne plague. But the blood plague incident is infamous because during the outbreak you would have these 3 factions working around the clock thanks to either aligned or conflicting goals, it got to the point that basically no one ever entered the cities. With that the in game economy absolutely tanked as no one was using the auction house, no one was selling items online (more often than not it was a scam to get blood plagued), no one was crafting, no one was really trying to make statics, and well it was more common to see players just wandering the PvE areas than anything else because well it was just safer. Now on to the 3 factions: when the initial outbreak started Faction 1 was created as well at first it seemed logical to just heal people through the affliction than anything else why sacrifice your entire game livelihood when like 10 seconds of your time was needed to keep a player alive? this faction still was active until the patch rolled out but they mostly relegated themselves with Faction 2 as well there were still incidents when Faction 3 would sneak into these "neutral zones". Faction 3 was by far the most inhuman faction of them all as well what they were doing wasn't technically(?) bullying as well it was just "walking around not my fault Blizzard didn't patch this" and what they did was actively sign up for the raid with others in the faction, get to the final boss, get all their pets and minions infected, and then leave to spread it even faster as to why they did this is on a person to person basis but they darkest and most common answer was just boredom and wanting to see how far they could have this progress cause hey it's funny and we could be a part of internet history "win/win". This Faction with this weird twisted mentality actively ran from city to city and with horrific efficiency made sure to pull their pets out infect NPCs, low levels, each other reset, and hide their pets when it was about to run out to infect themselves and feedback loop on their pets. It got so bad that at one point there was a petition from players to turn the game into full pvp (cities included) to try to rout the players who were causing it literally starting a witch hunt.
I think the term is effluvium, not effluvial. The latter likely means “pertaining to effluvium.”
It's also a bacteria, not just a gas. But it's easy to think it's just the gas.

Nosferatu from Resident Evil: Code Veronica was a pretty interesting case. He actually could inflict a permanent poisoning on Claire that will require a serum to be found as Chris later on, making it one of the few instances in the entire franchise where a boss could have a lingering effect on the player that wasn't just the nightmare fuel many of them tend to be.
Oh heck yeah nosferatu was awesome now if only capcom would remember that code Veronica exist and give it a great remake like 2 and 3

He acts as a sort of partner to Copper and follows her around wherever she goes and obeys any commands she gives him, and he can use his tendrils to Evilize people and turn them into Evil Ones or to stab, impale and whip Batman into submission.
Very Glad Gen 8 Pokemon Gym Leader isnt in the list!
But Very Disappointing Koga Didnt Get in The List, but instead Roxie...
Koga did become an Elite 4 Member(even though he's kinda bad) so he should had been in the list..
He was considered, but ultimately we had to ask ourselves "with what personality and battle style?" "I am ninja. I am hard to hit with minimize" doesn't make a very compelling fight or character.
Koga is cool, but Roxie is a way more memorable gym leader imo.
I’m bummed he chose Roxie over Klara since the latter actually has a toxic personality & even fights dirty.
Joshscorcher: *uses footage from VanossGaming & crew*

Also me: I mean, how else would he get footage for the Beacon?
Quite frankly I'm surprised none of the Darkspawn let alone the Archdemon made it to this list considering that they poison everything they touch, and not to mention their blood is highly infectious if it gets into your eyes, your mouth, or a cut, hence the need for Grey Wardens.

Love the my neighbor totoro frame in the background.
The "Butterfly" boss from Code Vein was a decent boss fight, it was just a rather steep difficulty curve early game.
I fully excepted the Butterfly of Delirium to be on this list. Glad to see I'm not the only one that thought about it.
One of my favorite characters in D&D is my Grung (poison dart tree frog people) Monk named Cricket. Due to being a Grung, any skin contact forces a creature to make a saving throw against 8 + CON + Proficiency or become Poisoned (Disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls). And that procks for every... single... unarmed strike.
Also he plays a banjo and can use his Ki to heal people too. Hes a sweet boi
There could've been another honorable mention, from Diablo 2 a boss called Andariel, the maiden of anguish, she is a spider demon who uses poison spheres and her normal smack attacks cause poison conditions also, so go in with plenty of antidotes or risk death very quickly.
Well, guess I'll throw in a suggestion: Volk from Dragalia Lost. Yes I'm actually considering a boss from a mobile game of all things. Sure, only one of his moves inflicts the actual poison ailment, but only if the adventurer is afflicted by what would really qualify him, Plague, an ability exclusive to his fight that just...removes all your affliction resistances until it wears off either over time or by dispersing it with heals.
“Probably still too much work for Hilda.”
Poison is supposed to be toxic, not burn people.
Ok the lead-up to #5 was brilliant. XD
I salute your taste in music on the Kronk meme, good sir!

imagine a type of poison that can affect the soul and instead of killing you, it just leaves you hollow and lifeless, leaving your brain trap in a husk of a body for all eternity. almost like a dementor's kiss in liquid form
stopping after number 10 just to comment that Blood Starved Beast is the fight that sucked me into Bloodborne the most. It sells this concept of you being as beastly as the other opponents by the fight going in rounds of circling one another before a frenzy after one of you makes a move.
Josh: And what happens next?
Gothel: The plague
Rapunzel: No!
Gothel: YES!!!
Loving these countdowns you're doing. But, I do have a suggestion... Not exactly an element, but top 10 sword wielding bosses? Only rule is no fighting games that use only weapons.
The Corrupted Blood Incident sounds like Hakkar giving the players a middle finger from beyond the grave XD
Number 1: *caused a virtual pandemic studied by actual epidemiologists*
Me: But... What about the actual fight?
OKay, your choice for number is kinda clever, not gonna lie.
also, what the studies were interested in was the way players reacted to the epidemy.
@25:10 Hey they fixed Arkham Knight on PC, it's actually playable and I have been loving it
That Catrina reference was incredible.
Where did the idea that Eternatus represents entropy come from?
Like, I get the connection of it being a poison type and looking skeletal.
But name and pokedex wise, it seems to be the opposite of entropy. All languages point of Eternal, Infinite, Endless as origins for the name and it's power is what causes Dynamaxing and all that.
I'm really surprised there was no Symbiote jokes when he talked about Phazon....
I don't if Josh is a melophile, but I was honestly hoping that he would play a song with poison in its title. Like "Poison" by Alice Cooper, or "Poison" by Bell Biv Devoe, or "Poison" by The Prodigy. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go listen to those songs.
How about Top Ten Cosmic/Space Bosses? Such as bosses made up of stars, plasma, planets or black holes, or use magical spells that come from the such things and the universe itself and even epic boss battles that take place in space that utilizes its full potential.
Here's another one: the Puffstool from Pikmin. Everything seems to go well, until this bastard gasses your Pikmin army, turning them into Purple Pikmin that will attack you
