Thanks. Beverlee McKinsey and Chris Bernau were always so wonderful together - fire and tenderness mixed into one. I also feel for the actors who had to work around baby Marah in this episode. That last scene with Josh and Sonni was something. The all-consuming power of his love for Reva that he tells Sonni that if Reva dies he will never get over it. Fantastic work from Robert Newman and Michelle Forbes.
Bernau used to play Alan as having a heart underneath all his dark impulses. That's what makes him different than the later interpretations of the character.
Would anyone happen to know when Chris Bernau's last scenes as Alan happened to be? In the two Guiding Light history books I have it doesn't state Month/Date/Year in the performer index...only that Chris played the character from 1977 to 1984 and then again from 1986 until 1988 and then Daniel Pilon was cast at some point in 1988 until 1989.
Isn't Alexandra older than Alan? I remember Brandon saying Alex was 2 years old when Alan was born. Or did they re-write history, if so why? I'm assuming its because Chris Bernau looked older than Alex after he returned and was ill. Was this ever explained?
Great questions and unfortunately, I don't know the answers - sorry! There might be a Spaulding family historian that will eventually see these comments and update us all. I kept up more with the Lewis /Shayne families over the years :)
Yes Alex was older than Alan matter of fact the reason Alexandra was called Alex was because Brandon was disappointed his first born wasn't a son. This episode just seems to be a hiccup where the writers forgot.

THANK YOU for this labor of love. You're so appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it's around July 27th, 1988 for Chris Bernau's last airdate as Alan. And then Daniel Pilon's first airdate is around August 5th.
Alexandra and Steve from 90210 must have the same hairdresser.
