Considered to be a record of the first teaching given by Gautama Buddha after he attained enlightenment. According to tradition, the Buddha gave this teaching in Sarnath, India, to the "five ascetics", his former companions with whom he had spent six years practicing austerities. The main topic of this sutra is the Four Noble Truths, which are the central teachings of Buddhism that provide a unifying theme, or conceptual framework, for all of Buddhist thought. This sutra also introduces the Buddhist concepts of the Middle Way, impermanence, and dependent origination.
Thank you...now its 3 years since I left Islam to enter the dharma.......
just to be specific, no one needs to leave anything to practice dharma/dhamma. dhamma is secular and doesnt differentiate between any religion. just like a doctor can be a hindu, muslim or christian - the religion doesnt change true medical knowledge of the doctor. dharma/dhamma is likewise.
@@fivosdeshpande1376 dhamma has fundamental clashes with most religions and is not secular. doctrines of anatta, samsara and kamma are central to dhamma but are also in opposition to other religions. it's impossible to believe in eternal heaven granted by god and also believe in a beginning-less cycle of rebirth where gods have a fleeting lifespan

@@fivosdeshpande1376 nice thought but I would argue that to follow Dharma you must stop following adharma.....
Some things are adharma in other religions such as the hate towards Dharma that the Abrahamic traditions have while claiming they are right and everyone else is wrong.... Etc

I'll be honest. I didnt really understand this. What does it teach?
1. Avoiding both extremes and following the middle path.
2. The four noble truths about suffering.
3. The eightfold path to cease suffering.
This is what the buddha taught to the five ascetics.
@@SussyBaka-uq6nf Thank you. What do you mean by "both extremes"? What are the extremes?
@@Sahr-wq5fy Extremes here means two ends of a thing. Every action we do has two ends, in one end you are doing it frequently and in the other end you are completely avoiding that action. Buddha says to avoid both these ends and to follow the middle way that is doing that action when it is necessary. Consider studying as an action, by Buddha's teaching you neither study for all day long nor spending time without studying, but to study within a time limit. He mentioned this lifestyle because during the times of the Buddha, attaining enlightenment means following the extreme ascetic practices such as fasting, eating only one rice a day, not cleaning yourself etc. Buddha followed these practices to become enlightened but he is not close to enlightenment and his body and mind were severely injured because of these practices. After he found out that this practise is not useful he stopped following this practise. He then thought that when he was a prince, he indulged in all kinds of pleasure but he was not enlightened that time and now practiced extreme ascetic rules, he was not enlightened. So he chose to follow a middle way which is between both these extremes and by practicing this method, he became enlightened.

那些被假佛教所误导的众生们
以为佛说：八正道
只是为声闻乘这种：小乘行者所说
大乘佛教，不应该被局限在：小乘法之中
大乘，自该有大乘佛教的法，来成佛
而不须绕道：声闻乘之后再成佛
这是，显然的谎言！
何以故？
真实的本师。释袈佛世尊说：
四念处，是天乘、大乘、正法律乘
所以，佛说三乘佛教，只有大乘，没有小乘
因此，让大家看看这个事实
谁能说：四念处是小乘！
看看，佛身念处、佛受念处、佛心念处、佛法念处
这四念处，哪个是：小乘佛教？
因此，大家应确认佛所说的：三种大乘
一、声闻大乘，修四念处、八正道
二、独觉大乘，也修四念处、八正道
三、无上大乘，也修四念处、八正道
谁说佛所传授的四念处，是小乘？
倒是部派佛子的失和佛教，
因为不断诤缠撕裂佛教的结果
使它们只能越撕越小
因此部派佛子的失和佛教，
被统称为：真小乘
真小乘佛教的根底上，伪造佛典，就成了假大乘
在真小、假大乘的根底上
加种杂染的内容，称为：滥污佛教
以上三种有病、毒、害的部派佛教
被称为：失和佛教，
是诤执纠缠的、是颠倒错乱的、是染污不净的
