I've got this one to a point I'm happy with, for now anyway. This was to practice foreshortening.
I used a photo reference of a cool statue that captured how I was feeling when I saw it. That life is a constant battle but we need to keep pulling ourselves forwards through all the chaos and darkness. Through all the cycles of life.
I may go back and work a little more on the rendering if I have time at some point. I do quite like the look of some areas of the drawing being more highly detailed and others more unfinished looking. I like that contrast. Need to keep moving forwards with the program though.
Onwards !!
This drawing was inspired by the statue:
Humanity Against Evil, 1908 (marble), by Gaetano Cellini.
The book I mentioned is called:
Keys to Drawing - Bert Dodson.
Music by Jonathan Ogden » jonathanogden....
One thing I forgot to mention is that with hindsight, I should have added the black pan pastel at the end. It became quite hard to work on this drawing once I had added it, as it was getting on my hands and smudging.

you are absolutely amazing. Thank you!
Thanks very kind of you. You are amazing too :o)
Thank you very much
Thank you for watching :o)
Nicely done! Foreshortening is difficult, but you made it look easy!
It's definitely a challenge and needs more practice. I guess it looks easier because I speed the video up a bit so it doesn't bore people too much, haha.
Thanks for this
My pleasure :o)
