    P1 Max is best value planar if you want something more affordable, and with EQ it’s great! Heyday, OG Wu, Timeless, S12, and P1 Max are all good . Don’t buy outside your budget. I don’t have affiliate links. I just like this IEM a lot… preference list bellow:

      Great advice. I love how for some people if you like something you review or are over enthusiastic they instantly label you a shill…even though you don’t even have affiliate links. • @_-Z-
      @_-Z- Рік тому

      @LilMil Yes, I have them both now. The Heyday are very good in my opinion but whether they better than the og Wu will largely depend on your preferences and if you think the $50 price increase is worth it. The Heyday build quality is all metal and it comes with a modular cable where the og only has a metal faceplate and a standard 3.5 or 4.4 termination (depending on your choice). The Heyday has better clarity but loses some of the bass from the og tuning. To my ear, it doesn't sound like a night and day difference in tuning and you will probably be happy with either. It just depends on what you want and prioritize.

    Bought one from Audio46, only 4 days from the US to Puerto Rico.
    First impressions are good, to me the Heyday sounds like a high quality single DD IEM, might have to do with the tuning direction? Which screams single DD.
    Very soft presentation, I'm not getting any of the crispness associated with BAs, do all planars sound like this?
    Heyday is not a set I'd rec to anyone looking for a very colored sound, this is tuned with balance in mind which does take away some engagement factor but that's opened to what people think is engaging.
    Needs a good source which does affect overall value IMO.
    Still good value in general, stock tips are horrible tho, I'd get spinfits or Final E tips along with the Heyday.

      @@HobbyTalk Planar bass is typically best with really solid rigidity in over ears and I'm guessing the all metal shell is tightening the bass up really well giving it more feeling of attack even while graphing fairly modestly. Modding over ear planars by reinforcing the cups for less resonance and driver housing flex is such a massive upgrade but of course the weight adds up.

      If Gizaudio is a reputable reviewer to you, they claim it's right below the Timeless in terms of microdetail retrieval. The Timeless is however plagued with strong planar timbre note definition so there's that. HeyDay beats it in every other metric it seems.

    Please here are the manufactures words before marketing and HBB started their BS.
    "Unlike other HBB collaborations, the Wu Heyday doesn’t change much to its shell design from the Wu Zetian. It still pays homage to the Wu’s Chinese history aesthetic, but it is given a new metal grey aluminum faceplate processed with 5-axis high precision CNC machine. The 14.5 planar drivers is going to be the main focus of this upgrade, now featuring an OCC joint wire for the speaker. this new earphone is a new attempt of the brand to pursue an overall musical but more neutral and balanced sound with a more thick and spacious signature."
    So I do prefer the colour of the shell but to be clear that is the difference.

      Please elaborate in detail why you think so.
      This has objectively better build quality, better more durable cable & an updated driver. All these things combined amounts to a $50 increase, as well as the arguably more mature (for lack of a better word) tuning.
      It's resonable. With the earlybird price of $179, it's a no brainer over the original. Imo.
