I chose the av3070 over Denon and Marantz flagship offerings because it does both home theatre and music very well. If you like listening to music, I think the Yammy beats the others hands down. For movies I think its awesome as described in the review. Handles Bluetooth great as well. So if you have a Bluetooth speaker you'll be able to connect and listen in another room. Am really enjoying the Yammy.
Looks Nice, how is the sound with klipsch 🤔 can you trust the room callibration? How is the interface? Grtz . Nice video 😉
The Klipsch sound really good with it. The height channel's angle and height measurements are really good. I did have to do some manuel tweaks to the other speakers but auto calibration gets you in the ballpark.
The interface is good it's in high def. Overall the layout is fine but Yamaha could do a better job explaining the different options. Hope this helps!
I tested a Yamaha with klipsh. It turn me off because it sounded liked nails on a chalkboard. But that was years ago. I ended buying mirages. But I heard a Yamaha with a plish 2 years ago and it was awesome. So I would go to best buy and listen
Great review my man. Yamaha receivers are probably the most reliable on the market; they sound fantastic and are full of features. I also love the YPAO calibration which also allows you to manually fine-tune every speaker to include the subs. I'll be running Yamahas for life. I'm looking at the 3080 but thinking about saving some money and getting the 2080 instead. I don't think that I'll use the two extra channels so why spend more on a very similar receiver?
Yeah I love them too! Thanks 🙏🏾
Yamaha makes some nice gear and I have owned Yamaha in the past. Now I am going to upgrade my Pioneer Elite and while Yamaha was on my short list I will end up with a Marantz.
Cool, which Marantz? And why did you choose it?
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist I am also looking at getting a new receiver and I love the design of the Marantz but they have far fewer inclusions for significantly more expense than the Yamaha receivers.
Do you recommend marantz for regimental polk audio or yamaha?
Hi Home Theater Hobbist I currently have a yamaha rxv-565 and I want to upgrade to atmos/ dts-x but can't decide between yamaha rx-a2070 and denon x4500h or denon x4400h are the two denons the same sound wise? I will mainly use the avr for movies and 10% for music is denon or yamaha better for atmos/dts-x? My source is a Htpc if that matters
It can also be controlled by the Amazon Elexa and at least in Australia has DAB+ digital radio.
Nice waitong on that denon review i bought the 4300h for $800 on sale and i love it!! It is just amazing with movies in my 7.2.4 system
You got the sale I wanted!!! 😆😆
Home Theater Hobbyist sorry! 🤗🤗
Home Theater Hobbyist same! That was a great deal
I've only watch your video for 13 seconds and I can already tell you it's going to be a good video trying to find a video on this receiver they all came up in Chinese or Sweden
Just found one used for only $600. Really excited!
Nice!!!!! 👍🏾
Hi. Is this your new A/V receiver? Looks good on features.
I'm comparing the Yamaha to a Denon Avr-x4400h. I haven't done much with the Denon yet so I don't know which one I'm going to choose
Home Theater Hobbyist
I see. Maybe the Yamaha. Then make your Denon as your dedicated music receiver. I think. But at the end of the day, it's gonna be your call.
Is this Yamaha receiver get really loud & nice an clear what’s your rating from 1to10 for 2020?
I would give it an 8.5 , I’m still a fan. I played loud but not super loud and I didn’t notice any distortion.
which one be in your choice Yamaha RX-A2070 or Denon x4400h ?
I choose the Denon because it has a few more features than the Yamaha but I miss the Yamaha. You check out my thoughts here:
ua-cam.com/video/Y-9eQUJZtyE/v-deo.html
I choose denon 4400...sound quality great better.
Rather get the Yamaha over the Denon
Yamaha all day
Great job. Nicely covered in such a short video. I own an av 3070 and it has been awesome. Biggest challenge this far is watching TV while playing a different audio source. Only works for a select few inputs, including net radio. Can't imagine why Yamaha would have us staring at their boring unchangable wall paper while playing phone or music from my server for instance. hope they fix this.
I haven't completed 2nd zone testing yet, it's a major feature so I need to finish it. Thanks for your feedback.
I'm finishing up the Denon review, then I'll do a head to head comparison and decide which receiver to pick. On paper it seems Yamaha targets sound quality while Denon targets features at the same price point. I'm curious to see if there is a tangible sound difference in the head to head.
I cant believe how yamaha still kept this dated user interface, as much as they have premium made but their user interface feels it is coming from the 90s
Thanks
How would you compare longevity between the Denon and Yamaha? Im going to make a big purchase and want it last me ages. Thanks
I would go with the Yamaha. If you look around the forums Denon has had some issues with cooling over the years. They maybe pass that now I don't know but given the history I'd go Yamaha.
You will have no problems with Yamaha. Quality products thru and thru
Would you please explain how you got the surround back speakers to work? Everything is wired correctly, Iv'e tried for 2 days to put out audio on the SB L & R. I have a 9,2,2 setup, with rear presence. Thank you
sorry, it's actually a 7.2.2 setup
In the menu are your rear speakers connected to a different Zone from your other speakers? such as Zone 2 or 3? If so change the configuration so all the speakers are in the main zone.
If there all connected to the main zone and still not working you need to determine if the speakers are not working or if the receiver is not sending signal. The best way to do this is to send a test tone to the speakers. This can be done via YPAO room calibration or sending a test tone (I think this is in the speaker level menu). If you don't get the tone move your rear speakers to a pair you know works such as front left/right. Place your left/right speakers in the rear. Re-run the test tone. This test will tell you if the speakers are the issue or receiver. If it's the receiver call customer service and let them know, same for the speakers. Let me know the outcome of this I'm curious. Thanks!
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Everything is on Zone 1
Ok, the only other thing to do is disconnect your front left & right (I’m assuming their working fine), cable and speakers, and connect them to the rear channels. Run the rear test tone again. If you hear the tone that means your previous cable/speakers are bad. If you don’t hear a tone it’s a receiver problem so call customer support. Sorry this isn’t working out so far 🙁🙁. Let me know what happens. Also Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 🍽 if you’re in the US!
Loved your review
Thanks!
I own a RX-A2060 which has almost the same specifications as the RX-A2070. It is a nice receiver with many functions. I used it almost conclusively for listening to music using a UPnP server
and the Android app. It all works quite well and reliable. I do not use the amplifier of the RX-A2060. I use separate stereo amplifiers. The stereo sound quality of the RX-A2060 is reasonable but certainly not excellent. The stereo image and transparancy is relatively good. However, the dynamical behaviour is not very good. I have recordings with very dynamical symphonic music and the RX-A2060 does not handle them very well. The music sounds much more dynamical on my Denon sacd player. Also the RX-A2060 has difficulty with choir music. For example, it tends to exaggerate the S sounds to a level it becomes uncomfortable. This is almost certain caused by the reconstruction filter following the output of the DAC chips. Finally I find the bass is a little 'messy'. My Temporal Coherence stereo amplifiers do a much better job. At present I primarily use a T+A DAC 8 DSD. This DAC sounds much better than the RX-A2060. I still use the RX-A2060 for video, HDMI audio sources and playing vinyl records.
Your setup sounds sweet! What speakers do you have? Do you have a multi-channel setup for movies?
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist I have Audiophile AMT 330 speakers with a Heil transformer for the mid and high range. It is a bass reflex system, but most of the time I have the bass ports closed to avoid time smearing. I still have sufficient bass left. The Temporal Coherence amplifiers are build upon relais. It does not use op-amps. I do not use multi-channel.
@@marcelmossel2900 Interesting to hear your experience, especially in regards to Choir music as this is one genre I do enjoy.
2050 2060 2070 2080 are basically the same receiver not worth the upgrade the 2080 has AI surround no big deal
I personally think the 2060 is the best one
One thing you did not mention that I need to know does it upscale the 4K
Sorry but I can’t say for sure. At the time I reviewed this I didn’t have a 4K TV.
Awesome thanks so much I think I’ll go RX A3070 then :)
Sweet! Respond to this thread once you get it and let me know your thoughts!
Will do.. after all your Klipsch videos and research I upgraded finally to the reference series, love them so much. Now we just need something to drive them appropriately. Ive got a birthday coming up and will get the above mentioned receiver :)
the crossover on them can be set separate like denon or is only one crossover set up to all channels?
I don't have the receiver any more but I think the Yamaha is one crossover for all the channels. Don't quote me on that but I think that's how it is.
understood, I really don't know what receiver to get, denon or yamaha. denon seems more future proof, but yamaha seems better built.
If you’re thinking Auro at some point in the future then Denon is the way to go, otherwise I’d pick Yamaha
Can I connect Sonos one 2 speakers to Yamaha RX-V685 av? Please share with me. Thanks a lot!
No it doesn’t appear that the Sonos can connect to the Yamaha, sorry
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist dude u are the best thank u so much for checking for me. Appreciate. Happy new year!
Do you think that RX-A3070 worth the price difference over this model?
If you can or plan to do 11 channel processing and add an extra amplifier then go for it! The A2070 is very similar and that reciever is top notch! Music is clear and concise, and movies are delivered with aplomb! Reply to this thread and let me know what you choose!
Home Theater Hobbyist, no I don't anticipate a need if extra channels but my dealer is offering me upgrade to 3070 for $200 more. Is it worth for that cost?
Also doesn't the 3070 has better DAC?
Just took a look at the specs, yes it does appear the 3070 has a better dac. For an extra $200 I'd get the 3070.
Can you add an external amplifier to this receiver? And also does this one have bass crossover for the sub?
Yes it has Pre-outs so you can add an external amplifier. Yes it does have a cross over setting in the menus
You only get 140 Watts.. RMS? I hope for a 1,000 bucks you can just hook an amp up in your home off a deck
It doesn't have Aura 3D but instead they have their own Surround:AI: "The AI technology built into the DSP analyses the scene of the entertainment content and then creates the optimal surround effect to reproduce it with the greatest effect".
Ok thanks for the info
Hi so this amp is supports 4k??
Yes, it has 4K UHD pass through
I have a Canton Chrono SL 5.1 speaker setup and I want the best possible sound for movies and music. What should I buy? I've been looking at the Yamaha 3070 and Pioneer LX-801 so far.... Maybe I will add more speakers later.
In this price range I'd recommend the 3070. It has great build quality, nice feature set, and great sound quality. I haven't tried the Pioneer so I recommend the 3070. Yamaha has announced a newer version the 3080 so check out those features before making your final decision.
Thanks for the reply. My biggest concern is what type of sound I will get. If it will be to my liking and if it will match my speakers well. All the features is easier to get the hang of.
You like that one or the Denon more?
I don't know yet. I've been spending my time with the yamaha thus far. I'll be working with the Denon starting tomorrow
Home Theater Hobbyist
Please compare the auto eq solutions in both! Denon does a good job boosting the bass on volumes below 0db, but it turns up the Surrrounds too much for my liking. I have the X4300 Denon right now and had to turn off Dyn EQ completely. Am now going to try the 2070 and see how that does.
Roland Rohde did you compare the auto calibration between them?
best bang for buck no doubt, unless you want to make the move to yamas pre / power seperates,
dee from Oz.
That Jurassic Park scene, was it not missing the bass footfall sounds of the dinosaur? I know in other scenes its an absolutely fantastic movie for hearing the surround sound and bass. I just checked and it is ua-cam.com/video/PJlmYh27MHg/v-deo.html there is something wrong with either your copy of Jurassic Park or your speaker settings. Btw, Jurassic Park isn't designed with Atmos in mind, back then 5.1 home cinema was only just becoming a thing this is way back in 1993.
It does have the bass footfalls but the mic I was using didn't capture the low end very well. You are correct Jurassic park is not an Atmos mix.
In Yamaha which model av receiver with speakers is best under 50000rs.....
Please tell me....
What. Is the. Best. Recieved. Demon. 3500h. Or. Yamaha. 1080. Under1lakh. Pleasetellme
I'm surprised you're not using Banana plugs.
May not have seen them in this video but I definitely do! :)
I also have Deep water horizon blu ray. Dolby atmos track. Get that Gravity on Dolby atmos. It is good to as well coz i have a copy here. I also have Jurassic Park collection 1-4.
I'd forgotten about Gravity, I need to pick that up
Yeah that's cool but how tf do i do the bluetooth
I had the same problem but u can find the manual online it helps a lot. For me I had to replace the antenna cuz the one mine came with was missing the long pointy part. Luckily they're only like 3 or 4 bucks.
