I owe George my life. He got me into treatment for addiction in the early 90's. He gave me back the gift of life. God's gift. I new his sons too. Terrible tragedies in his life. But he always helped others. ❤ love this man.
i met george in 1975 (give or take a year)
i had no idea who he was, but i thought he was ADORABLE! I was a 14yr old c.i.t. at Camp Bela Layo, in Fergus Ont. His son was a camper. He asked me to please take care of his son. He was not arrogant, or rude in any way, just a dad, leaving his little boy at camp. A very BIG, Tuff man....humbley asking a camp councillor to take care of his son. My heart melted!! Big tuff SOFTY! i will never forget George 😊😘😊

Absolute legend,never knocked down in the ring,he suffered terrible tradgedies in his personal life but stood up till the 15 th round !!!!
My dad, Paul, large was a good friend of Mr. Chevello. I remember him at my house growing up, much respect sir, and I made it to 50. ❤

Chuvalo was an absolute beast. A fearless warrior and a nightmare to ANY boxer in any era. With a bit more luck and good fortune, he would had knocked them all out.

Really nice guy. Lasting 15 rounds i guess would be as much a victory as people going crazy when a person gets in more shots than the last fighter of satay mayweather. A good punching bag is good work for the champions. Good guy and yes durable. I hate all the tragedy in his life as well.

@split pomalo he may be Croatian ancestry, but he was still born and raised in Canada. And how about Lennox Lewis? Arturo Gatti? David Lemieux? There are many great Canadian fighters. I can tell that your knowledge of Canada is very limited.
@split pomalo he is… he has duel British and Canadian citizenship. He moved to Canada when he was 12 and fought as a Canadian in the Olympics.

Hello George chuvalo how are you you must remember me from JJ Michaels I also knew your son George Jr I was just wondering by chance when are you going to come out with a movie about your life I'm still waiting for a book I have not been able to find one on you about your whole history but George it would be nice to see the story of a true champion of Canadian history about yourself it would be kind of nice I also do believe the red Randall which was a friend of yours as well golden club champion he was a pretty good friend of mine too I last seen him before he went to jail for being a cop up pretty bad I don't know where he is anymore I haven't seen him I was wondering if you knew that he was still alive to let you know who I am I passed you at JJ Michaels to help me with my coordination we've also stood at the corner of Kipling and Dixon and had a container of milk each I wonder if you still remember me George you still my friend
And I'm strongly proud that I know you sometimes it was difficult being around George Jr I did not like the friends that he had at times but we were still friends no I never took drugs with them I disapproved of it but what could I do there was no control at times with him or Jessie just used to demand me getting into his car and I refused off the X simply when I found out that he was going to Shoppers Drug Mart all the time I told him I did not want anything to do with what he was planning to do a Time I'm just trying to keep this under the table George if you see me you would probably remember who I am but great now I'm presently really sick myself battling with my brain tumor and I need a hip replacement I'm in constant pain all the time I'm not truly too well George and I'm really glad that I'm your friend anymore
I bump into Chris sometimes I told JJ Michaels he's doing well he's enjoying his retirement his son sees me too at times his son said he's going to open up another restaurant but nothing like the one that they had over at Islington and Dixon I'm glad you're doing well George keep up the good spirits man and I was just wondering are you training somebody it would be nice to see a true champion in the ring and I know you were one of Canada's best and you're still are the champions sincere George T Dawson

Ole Georgie was as tough as they come tragic story outside the ring true he never was knocked out but Frazier made him quit and George stopped fighting and lost fight.
