This is the first time that somebody has put out a truly comprehensive explanation of what's going on with this issue!
Glad I was paying attention back in 2013-2014. I’ve been well stocked with ammo and reloading components ever since.
You people are what caused this. You should be ashamed.
You Are Right Now My Dillon Is Just Sitting This Pisses Me Off.
same here 👍👍
not your first rodeo!!
I figured I can’t go wrong by stocking up knowing the prices never go down but only increase.
I only wish I’d gotten more while 5.56 was under 40 cents per round and 9mm was under 20cents ,
🇦🇺😎👍The pandemic was only on the tv down here. Lots of super spreader events at abandoned buildings or whenever people protested against restrictions but only the hypochondriacs got sick. . . Australia doesn’t have a real strong gun culture but the people who are into it persist and keep chipping away at the supplies. No pistol powder for 2 years and it’s sometimes hard to get your favourite brand ( keep in mind most things come by ship)…Most prices have doubled over the last 2 years but friends of mine in the industry say they can’t keep up with the customers. People down here in the shooting community don’t trust the media , government or the international powerbrokers. Remington had cheap primers about 5 years ago. They were $165/5000 but the problem with them was 10% were shit.( perhaps the were a bad batch)….great video mate. Very informative.
We REALLY need to force our representatives to disarm the government. Most agencies do not need firearms. IRS, FDA, USDA, EPA, CDC, DOE, maybe Dept of Education, do not need a single firearm or ammo. The rest of the government, excrpt the military, should be banned from stockpiling ammo without limit. ALL the stockpiled ammo by the civil agencies should be forced to sell off their guns and ammo to the civilian market at cost.
It was the tax payer that payed for it in the first place they should either give it to the military or give it back to the people.
Palmetto State/AAC just spun up a primer plant in Columbia SC. I even interviewed to work in the plant.
Exactly, I try to buy as much AAC ammo as I can. They are making ammo for the civilian market. Not the Govt. (At least they say so, and their owners believe in the 2nd very strongly) Hopefully eventually they will have enough primer supply to sell to reloaders as well. I know that it takes years to get in the new ammo making machines in most cases and they are adding new lines and calibers as fast as they can. Thank goodness for Palmetto.
Really! That's awesome news even if it's a long time coming but I'm happy to hear someone else is getting into the game.
This is the first video I have seen of yours. Excellent primer history. Still remember buying Fiocchi in the 2500 counts when they were discounted down in the $20 range. If we only knew then...Keep up the great coverage Chase!
Thanks for watching!
I did know. And I bought a bunch, so far they have managed to store very well and I have not had one failure
I am glad to see someone who has put in the hard work to figure out what's going on with primers. It sounds like things will be turning around soon.
I doubt it. The government will come in again and buy up the supply to maintain the scarcity and the primer manufacturers will suck on the government teat again and nothing will change.
If you don't count our getting into the Ukraine/Russia war as a continuation of the shortage problems, maybe.
@@ljprep6250 Not enough UA units use 5.56 M4's to really matter. The vast majority of Ukraine troops are using the AK-74. Ukraine and Eastern Europe have enough ammo components makers to supply UA needs.
@@LuvBorderColliesI'm kinda out of the loop on a lot of things, but it seems to me whether or not they use 556 in Ukraine there's enough countries preparing for global issues that it could easily be a draw on the 556 supply. Plus, doesn't the ak74 use the same primers as 556? Not sure about it but I'd think...?
Primers are definitely more scarce than they should be. Grateful for the content and the giveaway!
I appreciate the summary and insight. I've had many conversations about this with new reloaders who don't believe there isn't some kind of conspiracy to keep primers away from us.
I just saw some primers here in Central California, @ $126.00 per thousand!!!
My last box old primers were $6.00 per thousand, just 45 years ago!!!
Since primer production is highly mechanized, even rising labor costs cannot account for the massive increase in price. (21 times increase!!!) materials costs are minimal!!!
Somebody is exploiting the situation, that our government has artificially created. Let's find out which politicians, or their friends hold the most stock in ammunition companies???
I'm getting the idea, that both political parties are exploiting us, as American citizens with failure to follow the Bill of Rights, as well as market manipulation, through government hording of ammunition.
Prove me wrong!!! Just the Facts!!!
Tim
Well Said Buddy
Tim I think you're absolutely right and the thing that took the wind out of my political identification sails was trump and the republic-rats and demon-ants joining up and at the lead of Trump, ushered in what we had always "feared" the "evil democrats" wanted for this country,...... SOCIALISM.......
Not just the spectre of the evil agenda, but the in living color implementation of it at the hands of McConnell et al, by UNANIMOUS VOTE IN BOTH HOUSES......
This, remember, was immediately AFTER shutting down an economy that had seen 91 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF GROWTH on the day he took office (I was all in, went to rallies, hat, shirt, boxing pen, coins, flags, stickers, you name it I was in the #trumpcult and outspoken so......)
The behaviors exhibited and gleefully acted upon by the ENTIRETY of the elected officials in this country in and of itself DEMANDS that we do our constitutionally outlined civic duty and remove them from office, by deadly force if necessary..... EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM... .
but first it takes people with enough gray matter to recognize the wolves are really in office, NOT elephants and donkeys.... . And they ALL belong to the same pack....
And the 6.3 TRILLION that Trump signed in ONE BILL ALONE, not to mention the over TEN TRILLION total, is where this inflation gained its traction and began to snowball......
This is trumps inflation, unfortunately we haven't even gotten to Biden's yet
I make percussion caps. It's a bit fiddly but well worth it, and if you buy the ingredients needed instead of buying the 1000 cap kits it is very inexpensive to buy a lifetime supply of ingredients. The metal caps are made from soda cans, you get about 75/can or so, the forming die iirc is about $50 or so and lasts forever. The aluminum caps have a rough appearance but fit and work well.
The primer material is corrosive but I have seen no corrosive effect at all.
I miss the Zapalsky primers at $27/1000, they worked just fine. It pains me to pay 7 cents each for small pistol primers when a while back I could get factory loaded 9mm for 18 cents each and could reload 9mm for what I paid for .22lr. (2.7 primer 1.2 powder 0.8 pro-rated case & free lead , total 4.7 cents/rnd plus time).
Hmm, have you tried making primers?
As I was surfing UA-cam, you caught my interest.
I also noticed shortly after the pandemic that many people stocked up on ammunition and primers as well as reloading powder, turn around, and sell and sell at ridiculously price over the internet on various gun owner forums.
All in all you explained this subject really well.👍👏👏👏
primers have been a rare commodity in Alaska for quite some time . My reloading has really slowed down . In fact most of my shooting is with .22 LR these days . Good to know there are more manufacturers entering the US market . great info . Hope it all pans out .
Im in Texas but Ive resorted to shooting my 10/22 more often than not as well. At a dollar a round its to expensive to pull out the 6.5 creedmoor or the 243.
Thoroughly enjoyed the information that you provided on the primer situation. It also acknowledged a shortage of Ammunition on the shelf. Why the government is hoarding ammunition seems to be a matter of concern . They are on the defense or what. Who knows what will become of all the ammunition that they are stockpiling. Thank you for the knowledge that you shared.
glad to see a honest explanation why there is a shortage pf primers
I got lucky and picked up 2000 UNIS GINEX large rifle primers . Took a chance glad you have had good results . subbed
It is important to stress that Remington, one of the major primer manufacturers, closed its plant in mid-2020. Remember that ammo and bolt-action rifle sales were low enough in the years leading up to 2020 that Remington, one of the US's largest player in those markets, went bankrupt. The loss of Remington alone would have eventually caused a primer shortage. Panic buying just made it happen sooner. For some products, even a small decrease in availability tends to trigger panic buying*.
Nevertheless, ammo manufacturers like Hornady and Federal stated that they were producing and selling more civilian ammo than ever during the "shortage" but panic buying kept shelves empty. As the presenter noted, primer manufacturers prioritized ammo makers over the retail market, and since some ammo companies like Hornady didn't have their own primer production (unlike Remington), fewer were left for the retail market.
* Back in the two "gasoline crises" in the 1970's, a drop in supply of about 5% drove prices through the roof and caused widespread shortages from panic buying. People would line up for hours to "top off" their tanks and some were filling up every container they could find, actually increasing demand. For goodness sake, it didn't even take a shortage to cause panic buying of toilet paper!
Remington mismanagement caused their down fall not demand
The 1970s toilet paper panic is an example of a totally fake rumor going viral and that was long before internet.
Remington was bought out and closed by some anti 2nd people. Go look into it.
Remington is back in business, and better than ever. So that really doesn't explain the current issue
@@integr8er66 If you think so. I'll stick to my pre 64 700s
Great video. Thanks for the diligence and hard work keeping our community informed
Wow! So glad you took the time to investigate this problem. I've been asking this same question for quit some time. Thank you. I hope this situation with primers and ammo continues to improve.
The lack of primers and the high cost makes it hard for new reloaders to get into the hobby. I have been seeing some go on sale online hope those sale prices become a more realistic everyday price.
Thank you for the comprehensive review. There's absolutely no explanation why the US manufacturers have increased their prices by 500% in some cases. The cost of the raw materials and manufacturing does not justify such outrageous prices. Also now that Lake City is back to full capacity, the federal government should not be domineering the civilian ammo market. Something very fishy is going on.
Typically, manufacturing will figure out how to meet the demand. Nevertheless, how many days does it take to make a billion primers by machine. This has been going on for some time now.
So I agree, something smells. Purposely hold back production..?
Federal, Remington and Winchester are probably under the control of the New World Order by now. They have to incrementally move the goal post forward so they don't alarm people too much. The Chinese Bio-weapon and Bio-vax helped to usher in all of this hyperinflation which will ultimately lead to a planned economic collapse and put us all on our knees. They want to make things unaffordable and make us lose any wealth we have in our hard investments and savings accounts. By the time we experience the true Depression coming, most of us will have sold off our assets just to have a roof over our heads and food on the table. My guess is that another major crisis or an even worse plandemic is coming which will finish us off. To survive it, we have to build local communities, local manufacturing and businesses, hospitals and medical clinics, farms and vote locally and regionally. In other words, build a firewall against this insane communist takeover that will kill us all if we it.
2 WORDS: JOE BIDEN
Increased by 500%? Not primers. In mid 2017, I got 1K of Winchester primers at Cabela's for $33. If those primers were now 500% more, that would be $198, which they are not currently priced at. The current price is now nearly 200% more. 200% more (than $33) is $99. Still, a nearly 200% increase in primer prices in six years is significant.
The explanation is greed
Pure and simple
Like anything else
Primers are a hard item to find in our area, glad to finally get some info on what was and is happening.
We've had plenty for at least a year, at the new prices.
I don't know if it's just a matter of being in a region that's at the fringes of the distribution network, or if the distributors are just deprioritizing their clients in my corrupt state, but I haven't seen primers anywhere since mid-2020. Not at any prices. If I wanted to drive ~140mi round trip and cross state lines, I could get them at the "new prices" plus gas and time, but at that rate, I might as well just order them online.
To be honest, I have a feeling that the few shops that used to sell reloading stuff gave up spending their time and shelf space on products that were unavailable. They either shifted their focus or went out of business.
The shops that never stocked much or any reloading equipment probably won't have primers. The shops that specialize in reloading get them but everyone is shocked at $100 - $120 a brick. " i can get them online for $79! Then go buy them online and add $25 hazmat and $15- $20 Shipping. The new norm. Unfortunately
With all the ‘red tape’ manufacturers have to go through, years I’m told, and a lot of fees; it’s not worth building plants if you can ship from overseas cheaper. I’m with you, don’t see prices coming down back down over 10-15%.
I’m surprised by Remington not getting primers on the market. Loved their brass for reloading.
Larry congrats on winning the primers. Please email me your address and phone number. chase@mtgexperts.com
They are in bankruptcy
I just seen some a couple weeks ago first time since they have been back.
I'm very appreciative for the work put into the industry primer assessment. This confirmed some of the rumors and suspicions circulating around plus handed out some good information I was not seeing or unaware of -- Thank You!
Thanks. And Welcome
Awesome information and history presented! Much appreciated for the overview and info on what's been going on with the ammo industry. Thank you!
Look forward to watching more of your videos... I can tell I could learn a lot from you. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the update on the never available primers, especially the missing large rifle primers. I’m hoping I can start reloading again soon.
They've been around locally for over a year. Your local shops must not have must pull with the distributors.
I bought 1000 Winchester large rifle primers at 3 Bears for $76 recently and now they are gone . Glad I jumped on them when I did.
Thanks for your research. That explains why reloading (and ammunisjon) has become very expensive here in the cold north. Have a good one👍
I have used the primers from Turkey and they work real well
Best info yet on the shortage, thanks. I got into reloading rather late in about 2015, loading for my old Milsurps.
Lotsa Funzies wid MilSurplus
I live 8 miles, from'' barnes bullets" manufacturing company. 2 weeks ago they layer off 50 workers, because the government instructed them to cease production of certain calibers of ammunition. Including the projectiles. They did the same thing 2 years ago, when my sister worked there. The government controls them.
What calibers?
BS
You to play the government's game or they're going to put you out of business government's too large and out of control
I'm calling BS
Thank you for the update. Looking forward to the (hopeful) end of the primer/powder drought.
Yep....we re-load. Looks like We'll have to start making our own primers again
Instead of buying up ammo, I purchased all the reloading equipment needed to reload everything I own, does, length gauges, bullet molds, gunpowder, brass, and what primers I could find.
I did stock up on 22LR AND 22 WMR as it's difficult to reload for those who do it, but not something I'm willing to invest in.
Same
Thank you very much for telling the complete story! Primers are finally coming back to northern Indiana and I hope it continues. I just hope 2024 does not bring supply problems like some people are predicting.
Thanks so much for posting this, this is the best information I've heard in a long time, it's just been basically quiet. I heard that Expansion was actually in the process of selling off equipment but that's not substantiated. I've really curtailed reloading and it's a real pity. I was shooting 500rds a week in 2018 and 2019, maybe even 2020 at just under 4 cents a round for primers. I walked in to the store one day and picked up maybe 4 cartons of small rifle at a Sportsmans Warehouse and that was literally it. Those were Remington. Sportsman's has been empty since that day. At current pricing it really doesn't pay to reload my 9mm. .357 either but I had stocked up for a really long time on magnum pistol primers, but everything is 2x and 3x the old prices now. Small rifle is the most pitiful. .223 was very affordable to shoot, not anymore. I really saved all my small rife for the .454 Casull... some folks will think that's odd, what a rifle primer in a pistol cartridge???? Yep, that's the prescription and only a fool will use small pistol anything in a .454 Casull. It's really still very affordable to load the Casull vs buying ammo. It cost just a bit more than a .45acp because of a large quantity of magnum powder. Anyway thanks again for such a great breakdown on the companies and supply outlooks.
I have used the Argentinean primers, and they work very well for the small pistol primers
Certainly informative. Hopefully it continues the trend.
I was doubting any good news on primers however, you have enlightened me and for that I thank you! 😊
Thanks for the info about the over seas primer companies. I was wondering how good they were. Thanks again.
No problem!!
Just found your channel this morning. I’ll be binging on your videos for the next few days. Good stuff.
Glad for all the info on primers. I have been reloading since 1989 and never thought i would see ammo and reloading supplies hard to get like they were and i see it coming back again. Again thanks for the info.
I've been forced to buy cheddite 209 primers because the American brands are nowhere to be found! I haven't used them yet, but am glad to here you have had good luck with them
Just keep an eye when loading some of the oversees 209s are a dif size vs American shells.
one of the biggest issues with ammo & reloading materials is scalpers, the ones that are buying everything up at the manufactures & then reselling them to retailers & individuals at 300-400% above actual market values
Make sure you "shame" those selling primers at gun shows.
Before COVID hit and the extreme lost of primers to the public. I had purchased a few thousand of Sellier and Bellot for 40 S&W. I found these primer’s were consistent for ignition. Now that said, like most primer’s I have not seen this brand since. I am glad to see availability (Sept 2023) and some sales below $80/thousand. Like someone mentioned the pricing has increased so much, you have to do some calculations on cost to reload and purchase, loaded ammo has finally been close to pre-COVID for sales. I had one box if primers with a sticker on it, $27.99, wow those were the days. Nice video, keep us informed.
33 to 35 a thousand was average price locally before the virus panic hit. Once supplies came back slowly, the price has been stuck at 80/thousand for past year.
@@LuvBorderCollies yep. I paid 37 when I first got into it about a year prior.
Since all I've seen BR $120/1000. Or 8.99-9.99/100 depending on brand rem & win typically just a bit cheaper than cci.
Thanks for the detailed update. Guess its time to dig the ol press out, and get setup again. Thanks for the reviews on the foreign primers. Makes me a little more confident in them.
Any time!
This is why I've learned to make my own. There's no way the shortage is an organic occurrence.
How did you learn to make your own primers.
I am in Australia & paid $200.00 for 1000 primers 3 months ago.Gone are the days of cheap primers.
Much appreciated for your help with making primers.
There's no organic material in primers so ...
@@trevorpollock3024 look into the synthesis of lead styphnate and try searching hommade primers on google. It’s a part of the field of chemistry that I study, the sciencemadness forums also have a ton of good information.
@@ericvantassell6809 you’ve misunderstood the use of the word organic, so…

Good to know!
Awesome video! Thanks for the chance at the primers!
Luckily, I bought in large quantities before prices got insane, just wish I had bought a LOT more. I gave my son my .44s, revolver and levergun and to go with them, he received a CASE of 5,000 WLP primers!! I had paid $75 for it in the 90’s, now its worth more than the revolver!
I use to purchase CCI #34 and #41 primers by the case. I was paying $82.50 a case of 5,000 primers.
The company I purchased from would pay the entire harmat surcharge when you purchase 25,000 primers or 25 pounds of powder. I'd talk with co-workers that reloaded, place one bulk order and split the freight bill. Everybody saved and we all shot at the lowest price possible.
Thanks for putting all the pieces together for us.
Great info on what has happened with primers. Appreciate the video. Still hard to find primers locally for me, but luckily I can find them online.
Would like to know where the best place for the price to get LG rifle, mag primers at? Very hard to find online. Thanks
I dont care if the shelves are full,i refuse to pay these artificial prices these companies are charging. 80 to 100 bucks is crazy. Its cheaper to buy loaded ammo which i assume is thier end game. Time for a boycott but people will always make up a reason to pay these prices.
PERFECT STATEMENT! Figure for the internet sales @ $85 p1000 is ludicrous, but add the Haz- Mat fee to that, plus shipping and you're at $130 to the door. Earlier in the year I purchased some ZSR or whatever that brand was mentioned for $62 p/1000, plus shipping and Haz-Mat equaled $102 to the door. They were OK quality although for the first time in over 41 years of loading, I suffered 2 Fail-to-fire. I never touch any primers and have latex gloves on when handling my "way to clean" brass, so can't blame myself, however is always a possibility unknown to me. I will resign from reloading if primer prices stay at $85, unless the Haz-Mat were dropped, and absolutely Refuse to purchase crappy factory ammo. All part of the political plan to keep firearms people without.
There are specific loads and caliber specific ammunition I use. Even at the primer pricing theft rate it is still less expensive for me. I do not buy primers online. I buy from brick and mortar when I absolutely need them.
Bloke 😎 chill 🎉😢😮😅😊
It’s nowhere near cheaper to buy loaded ammo even with the increase in price.
.308 Winchester 168 SMK
Primer =10 cents
45grains of powder =32 cents
Projectile = 50 cents
Can you beat 92 cents per round ?
You won’t find even the cheapest .308 ammo that cheap anywhere , much less match grade rounds.
I’ll agree the prices do suck though
I have never seen your channel before this video popped into my feed. Thank you for the concise breakdown. I hope you are correct on the future trajectory of primer availability. Unfortunately I agree on your opinion on prices.
I hope so too!
Don't forget Palmetto State Armory is putting in their own primer production plant as well, to go with their ammo plant in South Carolina. Thank Goodness for Palmetto and AAC ammo! They are making ammo for US citizens . Not the military. I try to buy as much from Palmetto as I can now. AAC Ammo is one of their brand names. (America's Ammo Company) They are strong believers in the 2nd amendment. Great ammo too!
their shipping takes forever, but Ive been buying all my ammo through them anyway to help support the company. More manufacturers benefits everyone.
@@MoonMoon-gu2ge their shipping does not take forever....just a few days.
7 to 10 days is forever when JSD supply, gun broker, and midwest can have stuff to me in 3 to 5 days.@@locophoto6881

Right on
I learned my lesson on Primers back on the President ZERO (Obama) years. It took over 2 years to get primers for those reloaders that remember this. I stacked a HUGE amount of 50000 primers (large and small) once they became available. I made sure after that to keep a HUGE stock in reserve.
Love the bottle of Tums in the background. Something us reloaders have needed alot of.
Here in New Zealand LR primers especially are like rocking horse 💩. Well prior to covid the typical price /100 LR (Federal, WLR, CCI, Remington) NZ $10-12. Per 1000 NZ $80-85.
This year I saw 1000 WLR go for $440.00!
On Trade me (our local eBay) $650.00 for 1000 Federal LR. Packs of 100 typically selling for $80-100 on Trade me. Sellers were asking more but didn't generally get bids. One of my local gun stores was selling for $40/100 (US $23) and that is not price gouging!! We're at the bottom of the world and shipping companies prioritise what they will bring. Powder stocks aren't too bad although 1lb is about $110-$150 depending on whether you are in Nth or Sth Island and what brand! Cousin picked me up 1lb of Red Dot......$115. Prior to covid, about $50 I think it was? Cheers from NZ 😊
With appreciation, from a Texas reloader. We all appreciate your history lesson and keeping us informed. Look forward to buying primers in the near future, Idalou. Texas

so for I've had luck finding small pistol primers but no luck at all finding large rifle primers much needed. If I were to win would share other primers with reloading friends just to get the large rifle thanks for your info it does give us reloaders hope
I appreciate the info and the work to get it !
I wondered about some of the foreign ones. Glad to know that many of them are of good quality.
Every retail reloading supplier in my area has discontinued carrying anything for shotgun. No primer, lead, wads or hulls. It's a clean sweep over at least 2 big rural counties.
Thanks for making the muddy waters clearer
Thanks for a consolidated history of things complex.
Great job on the video very informative on what’s going. Thank you answered lot of questions a lot of us have.
Glad it was helpful!
I started reloading in the mid sixties. Paid 69 cents per hundred for primers back then. Bullets, around .05 each, powder (WW2 surplus) was $1.45 a pound. (still have some old empty containers with that price marked on them). Reloading 20 rounds of 264 Win mag with used brass cost me $1.40. Wheat sold in the $1.50 range, gas about $0.20, diesel .15 cents. My, how things have changed.
It’s 2023 bro.
Always enjoy your content and keep up the good work.
Over the period of several years I would pick up primers, brass, and powder whenever I went to Cabelas. I have all the brass I will ever need, probably 40 pounds of powder and over 20,000 primers in all sizes. I would just grab a single box of something and over time it adds up.
I hope you have a safe way to store all that.
@@davidgardner863 Gee you mean like warehouses and stores keep them safely on a shelf year after year after year without burning the store down in the jar they come in? Thanks for the drama though
@@locophoto6881 , So you think it’s silly to take precautions? You think the manufacturers don’t take measures to prevent fire or to suppress it quickly? @@davidgardner863 You definitely are great at thinking bud.....last time an event happened was forty five years ago....and you don't even know the reason.....
Yep...that's a great reason for being very concerned about gun powder in a plastic jar that is stored in millions of homes around the world by responsible adults that put it on a shelf and don't use it as their ash tray if they smoke.....other than that.....pretty sure you have ZERO instances of gun powder being a problem for anyone right? Great video! I think you are on the mark with your breakdown. I’m in Canada and we are starting to see small pistol primers in stock but that’s it. Prior to 2012 I used to be able to buy a case of 5000 without ever having to worry about stuff not being in stock. The whole idea of shortages seemed completely foreign to me. Even my grandfather had never experienced a time that reloading components were not available. Once the reality set in that things were not available many of us stocked up as much as we could. I will never feel secure with the quantity of components I have. I may never need all of what I have but I can barter and trade for stuff I need. I truly hope things turn around ASAP. Going to the range 2 or 3 times a week is so far in the past for me now it’s depressing.
Thank you so much for posting this video with this great information. I’m new to reloading and this video definitely helped with the frustration of why I can’t find very many primers and y there coast what they do. Thanks again and congrats to the winner in advance. Good luck everyone
Great to hear!
I have a good friend who is a supervisor at a large American primer and ammo plant in Tennessee. He gave the exact reasons you gave. Especially the government buying up ammo….he said all they can make 24/7 is sold long before it’s made.
Czechoslovakia no longer exists. The 2 countries were joined after WW2 but separated after the fall of the USSR. It is now the Czech Republic and Slovakia. CZ firearms bought Colt and made them a good product once again. Love CZ.
Thank you for the excellent overview of the manufacturer market, as well as the reasons for the shortage of products in the retail market.
Glad it was helpful!
Primers here in Iowa are available. Every type and brand. It just depends on if you want to pay for them. Thanks for the chance at some free primers
Lots of good information you've presented here Sir. Thank you !
My pleasure
Good explanation. It goes along with most of the info I've heard coming down the pipe!
Thanks for watching!
I've been saying all that for years!
It's a joke the manufacturers are blaming the buy public for causing the shortages by hording when there's nothing available to hord! Talk about being gaslighted by the manufacturers.
🇦🇺😎👍The primers are all down here in Australia $655/1000 per 5000 at a cheap shop. No one can afford them. Only RWS , Federal and Remington available . RWS being the most expensive.
Interesting video lots of information look forward to your next video.
Thank you for the work put into this. My experience has been similar to what you describe with the quality of the imported primers.
Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Thanks for all the detail information!
You bet!
Hey There

I feel for all us reliaders, its the only eay to get ammo that is perfect gfor your gun.
Thanks for the update vidio.
I am very happy to find a person of your ability to help me understand what is going on with the amo industry. Here at the ranch I have been out of contact with the outside reality and believe you will be what I need to understand the process. Thank you. Sonny trapper.
Glad to help
Still scarce here in Maine. Limited powder choices and primers. If any at all.
Thanks for the great explanation of what's going on. I need, need need some primers.
Glad it was helpful!
Great summary! I’ve held off on reloading…. But now need to start getting into it as all of the PPU mil-surp focused ammo is really drying up! I’ve been looking at reloading equipment, but told mysel I will only buy a press, dies and such once I build up a bank of primers!
Rotsa Ruc grasshopper citizen! Stick to Reload Recipes DILIGENTLY. I got a Turret Press by LEE Reloading Company. Neva had Troubles. The Turret operation uses a wee Nylon Washer and diameter has Notches in to Engage Turning the Turret which can hold a Die set for Reloading either Pistol/Rifle reloading dies. I had the Kit for TWO years before I actually loaded anything. Read ALL I could at the Glendale Public Library on How To Do It Well sans Blowing Up my Face inadvertently
Thank you so much for the information and you're insight. Very informative video. In California large rifle is the hardest find.
Thanks for doing the work and putting this out
My pleasure!
Great content on this subject Thanks keep them coming
The entirety of ammo production is hidden behind a paywall.
If you can't afford the monopolized price gouging, you can't play.
There are currently 2 companies in ownership of all primer production.
The brass industry is slightly more opened... but the cost of necessary equipment to spin your own brass is a rich man's game.
Every market available to consumers has been monopolized even tighter since covid forced doors closed.
