It would be truly embarrassing to admit how many times I watched the tiny portion of this video--at reduced speed and zoomed in--to figure out the first step in the third round...but I stuck with it and got it. Thank you very much for posting the very best Spanish Ring Knot video to be found on UA-cam (and I watched a number of them).

Gotta say I love your vids. This is the first Turks head knot I've been able to. I usually get pissed and quit but this vid made it look so easy and it was. I have yet to see other vids as good as yours, and I've seen allot of them. Keep making them, and make them for Turks beginners like me that have no idea what they are doing.

Excellent video! Great breakdown of the information. I find Turk's Head knots quite confusing. However, I feel that I am getting there. Your video and your information is making it easier to graduate to this level. Thanks.

Oh, duuuuuuude, this is such a great tutorial! Thank you so much!!! The only thing I would like to see different is a closer view of the weave. But it's still fantastic. Thanks, again.

How would one go about making the Spanish Ring knot wider? Once the slack is removed and the knot tightened up, 550 cordage produces a ring about 13 mm wide. Using the same cordage, I'd like to bump that up to about 2 cm. Excellent tutorial, BTW!

Really great video but no one ever shows how to hide the ends which to me is one of the most critical part?I continue to watch your videos because they are so well done and explained perfect.Any help with this issue would greatly be appreciated thanks

Scot Metcalf, Cut your ends flush and do not singe them. after you have tightened your knot, use a fid, or something similar to push them underneath. If tightned properly you cannot tell, and it will not come undone. Hope that helps.

God bless you for that reply. As Scot said, no one ever talks about what to do with the ends. Great video!

Great tutorial! Question, going to start making dog leashes. Was thinking about using this knot to close off the handle & secure the snap ring. Any tips regarding the best way to pull all the slack out to end up with a rock solid lock of the cord to the main body of the leash?

Groundpounder61 sorry for the late reply, your question splipped through the cracks. I have left one line long in the braid and used it to tie the ring knot before. This will keep it from moving up or down the leash. As far as tightening, use what's called a "fid" or a "marlinspike" and work your way around the knot from standing end to running end.

GREAT VID - LOVE THE SPANISH RING KNOT. VERY HELPFUL. BTW - WHAT IS THE WATCH YOU ARE WEARING IN THIS VID? MAKE/MODEL INFO WOULD BE GREAT. I LOVE THE FLAT CROWN/BUTTON CONFIG. LESS PRESSURE ON THE BACK OF MY HAND WHEN BENDING MY WRIST. THANKS

It's a Casio pathfinder series. I don't remember the model number off the top of my head. They all have a similar form factor though.

Do you sell tutorial videos? I have watched this sooooo many times and still struggle. I can't see it really well and pairs confuse me. I'm desperate to learn this art.

There are something wrong with your understanding of Turks head knots which is due to the way you've been taught and one of these misunderstood items is the way one finish , if you double the knot as per a foot rope knot you would start the way you do but if knot you should put the end through the middle of the knot then you can invert it to make a diamond knot Turks head which if one turns end for end is the same as the foot rope knot version both has the ends coming out on each side of the knot .
