Happy New Year! I don't mind watching 'chore' day at all, it's part of the game and including it in your video keeps things real. Thanks for all the entertainment this year, it's most appreciated.
"Having just that one female pig isn't going to cut it." You'll be fine. Sows have multiple piglets at a time; it's not just one per sow like in that other blocky game ;). You'll want to make sure to cull them in later generations to not have too many. If you have too many sows you'll get what we call a "pigsplosion" lol. You'll have so many more pigs than you'll know what to do with.
Btw: when you have nothing in the chest, you don't need to carry it on your back 😅it just slows you down and cost more food 😊just keep it in your inventory for so long 😊
Been watching through the series and I'm hooked, plan to grab the game myself and play with a buddy soon. Look forward to seeing more progress on the Homestead on the Hill you've built. Good content buddy, keep it up.
Just did the Treasure Hunter quest with some friends on 1.2 r5, it was a blast. Took us 3 hours. 10/10 would recommend Watching your stuff to calm down again =) thy for your content.
Very enjoyable and relaxing episode. I love gathering and stacking up on resources in VS. Thanks for recording and have a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays :)
I've been looking forward to this episode since I finished binge watching this entire series last week. I'm just super sad that I can't get this game on Xbox 😔 keep the awesome series coming! Love your format and content mate 😁
I just realized that you're already in January, and there is still no snow. With how cold your area is, it should've snowed already back in late November/early December, unless you had true winters and snow turned off when you created your world. You might want to check that out if you're not sure. I think chicken needs to be keep fed to keep them brooding the eggs if you want the eggs to hatch into chicks. I've watched Kurazarrh's videos (he's got several good series'), and kept seeing his chickens popping up and out from the pen from the corners when they panicked and kept trying to run away from the player. Kurazarrh termed it as popcorning, quite aptly so I think. I don't know if it has been changed at any point, but you might want to keep that in mind.
Chikens are easy. As you increase the generation, they get less and less scared based on block distance from you until they no longer care at all. Keep the brooding hen or hens well fed and turn the lower gens into rotisserie and you will get a fine breed of bird.
I do have true winters enabled, but I did notice that the area I'm in has "unlikely to rain" in its description so that might be a part of it. I'll have to be careful about the chickens!
😅I have built my farm so far in the north that it already starts snowing in September with minus degrees down to - 10 at the start and down to something around - 24 most of the time during the real winter. And still in spring it is all frozen and full with snow 😅cause I love the snow in this game so much and totally enjoy the really long winters😅it's strange to see you already being in January and still no snow around. No white Christmas 😢😅
I have yet to meet something that iron arrows are a solution for. May I recommend copper or flint. I have yet to feel Iron solves any problems that the former won't provide unless your swimming in Iron. I swim in copper and copper arrowheads are easy to pan for. But I still use flint.
I do have a ton of iron right now so I ended up making some Iron arrows, if I end up needing more I might go back to copper like you said, the damage difference seems pretty small.

Fallow farmland has a chance of growing horsetail ferns

Make sure you are ohly keeping/feeding your best male. One good male of your best gen is all you need.
