    if she was so confident in her business, she shouldve took the 250k for 20%, paid back 625k and let him fall to 5% thus keeping 95% of her company in perpetuity after having a shark help her grow. I guess her logic was with that model, the shark doesnt really care how big she grows cuz theyre more focused on getting their 2.5x return and the 5% is more or less a "just in case it goes big". While a partner that owns 30% will grind that much harder and focus a lot more on growth of the company and brand.

    • @csanton3946
      @csanton3946 3 роки тому +5

      Even if she is confident, the deal steve made is a rip off. 250k and then return his investment plus a 150% return or effective 30% annual return in 3 years and willingness to drop at 5% means he is not interested and purely finanical vehicle
      Ill just go to the bank get 250k, pay interest of 10% and after that no equity for the bank to even eat if its money im after.

    And with regards to the brick and mortar stores....most consumers now purchase from Amazon or another online source.....but there is a truth in the value of having high street shops...perhaps consumers want to go see, inspect and feel a sofa, or a bed before buying...so perhaps the future is aimed at large consumer goods on the high street / physical stores...and rest small consumer goods will be sold via Amazon or similar online marketplace.

    • @yesitsmecsd
      @yesitsmecsd 2 роки тому

      Sadly, what most do is view an item in store and then search online for a better price (myself included). So brick and mortar stores end up being essentially demo units for online sellers. Physical stores, with the exploding cost of property will never be able to compete on price with a fully online structure.

    So this is the same as SMC which was a big deal decades ago. You buy products from a warehouse and then sell them anyway you want. Do home shows, swap meets, whatever. Locally there was a person who always advertised a garage sale except the stuff was all from SMC. The problem: Unlike Tupperware and Avon, there were no territories. So you could easily have multiple people within a certain area trying to sell all the same stuff. It also had a Multi Level Marketing feature which screwed a lot of people over as well.

    It is great to see women entrepreneurs making so much progress in the news for their innovative products and their ability to grow multi-million dollar companies in a very short period. There are more and more women who are becoming the breadwinner of their families because of business success. This is a very positive development that reminds us of how far we have come as slightly enlightened society in overcoming gender discrimination.

      So many women are bread winners that aren't heard about because they don't need a tv show to solidify they position 🤔 saying what u do simply because its not heard about is crazy I could give about 40 different things where women are millionaires and are known or not known

    Surprised how greedy and rip off steves offer:
    He said 250k for 20% but valuing your business at 5m. Yeah right he is valuing her business at 5m ONLY AFTER steve have recovered his investment by which he has no risk already, and after he made 150% return in 3 years or 30% effective annual return on his money. Well its always easy to value peoples business at high prices when you are not putting your money anymore eh?
    If its money she needed why dont she just borrow from a bank and pay 8% interest and after that the bank is out, not even taking any equity
    I would be offended to been offered that kind of deal by Steve, not really interested in being part of the journey by dropping down to 5% after he had derisked himself fully plus an advance 150% return and all in 3 years wow just wow with the rip off
